Situated behind the historical Huguenot Monument and Museum, and within 5 minute walking distance from the town center. Laying beneath the impressive Middagkrans Mountains, and a short drive up the Franschhoek pass to one of the most surreal views of the town and valley, is La Providence Farm/Guesthouse! Set amongst a picturesque garden of roses and other indigenous plant, a hectare of vineyards and a Cypress avenue, as you enter the farm. The farm consists of 7 guestrooms, with a very modern and sophisticated interior. The old farm house buildings gives you a sense of time gone by. Each room has its own Nescafe coffee machine, a mini fridge where one can sit on your terrace and enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon as the sunsets!! There is an entertainment area for our guests, a short walk from the rooms where one can enjoy a swim in our 12m pool, or laze about on a sunbed and admire the view of the mountains or vineyard. There is a bar with a wooden deck leading out to the pool, or in the evening sit in boma around a fire and enjoy the Milk way with a glass of 'Lewenslust' our local house wine.
The most stunning location and property. So much attention to detail. Ellen and Gary couldn’t have been more helpful making our stay with them a truly memorable one. Our only complaint was that we hadn’t booked to stay for longer. Already booked for next year.

Ellen and Gary are excellent hosts and set very high quality standards for their breakfasts and accommodation. We have stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. The wine farm enjoys superb views across the valley and the swimming pool is really nice. Highly recommended.

La Providence was the last stop on our recent trip to South Africa and it really did end our holiday perfectly but making us even more sad to leave! The property is absolutely beautiful with what must be one of the best pools with a view in Franschhoek! Gary, Ellen and all the staff were SO friendly, helpful and accommodating. They were able to safely look after our bags before we checked into our room and were invaluable at helping us arrange reservations and transport for our stay. The hotel itself is in the perfect spot just on the edge of Franschhoek so it has the perfect mix of being close to the vineyards, restaurants and shops but also peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was fantastic and quite literally cooked to order – delicious! We highly recommend La Providence, it felt like a home from home and Gary, Ellen it was great to meet you– thank you for making the last stop of our trip so special.…

This was a return visit a few years on. We were not disappointed and we were made to feel very welcome. It felt like a luxury home from home. The breakfasts are just the best, as is the view from the poolside. Our room was spacious and comfortable. thank you Ellen and Gary for making us feel so welcome and looked after.

Beautiful place to stay in Franschhoek. Stayed in one of the beautiful vineyard view suites which was beautifully decorated with stunning views. We loved sitting around the pool in the evening watching the sunset with a drink from the honesty bar. Breakfast was delicious with a wide range of fresh items with eggs and bacon cooked to order. Lovely friendly hosts, would definitively stay again if in the area.

Definitely the highlight of our three-week trip in South Africa! We stayed at this beautiful guesthouse for a week and it was definitely the best decision we could have made. As soon as you enter this place and pull up the driveway, you don't want to leave. The landscaped gardens and vineyards are beautiful. The large pool, surrounded by mountains and vineyards, is the perfect place to wind down and relax. What we also loved was that you could help yourself to the honesty bar and had a great selection of drinks. The breakfast was also the best we had on our vacation! Not only was it delicious, but it was also prepared with great attention to detail. You can order whatever warm food you want and there is also a small buffet with different types of delicious food every day. There are also fresh cakes/muffins and fruit every day where you can help yourself right next to the pool. The room offered plenty of space to feel at home and was very tastefully furnished. The guesthouse is also perfectly located, not far from the main shopping street and all the restaurants and wine estates. Ellen and Gary were absolutely perfect hosts, always up for a nice chat and extremely helpful and kind! No photos can do this place justice! Thank you for an unforgettable week, we will be back as soon as possible and again for a longer period of time so we have plenty to enjoy. Best, Laura & Daniel…

La Providence Farm was recommended to us by friends and it did not disappoint. The accommodation, gardens and common areas were beautifully kept. The staff were attentive and friendly and in particular Ellen Rose the manager was extremely helpful in advance of our stay and during it - nothing was too much trouble. We only had a couple of nights at the Farm, but would have been happy to stay for much longer. The Farm is quiet and secluded but very handy for the centre of Franschhoek. A delightful experience!

My wife and I had a wonderful two night stay at La Providence. The entire experience was flawless. The starting point is welcoming, friendly but professional hospitality from hosts Ellen and Gary. The property is visually stunning, particularly the pool area with mountain and vineyard views, which is perhaps the most attractive pool area we’ve come across anywhere in the world. The room was lovely, well proportioned with a nice bathroom (the shower had a transparent ceiling which gave the sense of being outdoors). We also had a small pool which was nice but hardly used given (i) the main pool being so superb and (ii) the wider Franschhoek area had so much to see and do. We would absolutely recommend La Providence. It’s not only a high quality property with warm hospitality, it’s also tremendous value for money given the comparative price of some local hotels.…
