This is a spectacular property nestled in the heart of Franschoek. The rooms are tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds and large bathrooms. The surrounding grounds of the hotel are also beautiful, well maintained, and felt very calming. It was my girlfriend’s birthday and the staff managed to source a cake and some flowers, and a donation was made to a charity on her behalf (which was a nice touch!). We ate at Epice one night (one of the on-site restaurants) and enjoyed a culinary feast. All the staff were friendly and on hand to help with any requests or bookings we needed to make. We had an amazing time. Thank you LQF.

Absolutely stunning experience. The hotel has exquisite attention to detail and a wonderful charm around every corner. The staff is impeccably kind and helpful and Conrad and his team were A+ in everything they did. The food was amazing and the stay was one we hope to repeat again!

We love coming here as the outside patio enables you to eat and watch the world go by. Such a great venue. On top of all this the food is wonderful and the staff friendly and professional. We have eaten here several times before and it is always the first place we look for in Franschhoek Thank you !

Beautiful hotel right in the middle of Franschhoek. Rooms are elegant and spacious and would also suit people with access needs. Breakfast has been great in a relaxed environment, excellent variety of fruits/eggs/pastries befitting a high quality hotel. If this is the standard for Leeu Collection Resorts we will be looking to their other locations soon.

This is certainly a very good hotel, right in the centre of Franschhoek. The rooms are generous and well decorated. I get the feeling that they will be in need of an update withing two or three years as the rooms are quite traditional. The service is excellent and there is a terrific breakfast. The hotel has a good but unheated swimming pool (which was freezing cold despite near 30 degree outside temperatures). As the hotel is in the town, you get no views. Price-wise, it is expensive at nearly £500 a night.

Very smart hotel in the centre of Franschhoek. So convenient. Large rooms and enormous bathroom. Probably the largest bed we have ever had in a hotel. Beautiful bedding and comfortable mattress. The pool was just what was needed after a day on the wine tram. Superb breakfast, al fresco. Very efficient and friendly staff. A little expensive, but you get what you pay for. Would stay here again if visiting Franschhoek.

We returned to the hotel because we had stayed here before and it had both character and style. Sadly much of that is lost. It lacks soul. The rooms are comfortable but characterless. The staff are lacking in charm unlike most other hotels that we stayed in South Africa. Even though we stayed in the hotel for two nights and called ahead of arriving, we were not able to get a booking in either hotel restaurant. The swimming pool is small and crowded. It’s forgettable. Sad because it used to be so good.

Absolutely fabulous boutique hotel. Great location, superb room, lovely ambience and first class staff, This hotel has everything & the food - wow! We will definitely return to Le Quartier Francais. We also really like the feel of Franschhoek and when we return we will stay more than 2 nights and use the hotel as a base. Thank you.

We just checked out of our three day stay during the week between Christmas and New Year’s and honestly I could’ve stayed at this hotel another week. The service is top-notch, the rooms are charming. The setting is beautiful, and the location is excellent (right in the middle of Franschhoek, where all the shops and restaurants). From the moment we arrived, they gave us a lovely tour of the hotel, and Siba went out of her way to make our stay just exceptional. There was a restaurant that we really wanted to eat at but had no reservations, but Siba kept calling the restaurant to see if they could get us in before we left, and she was able to get us a reservation. I don’t think there’s really anything negative I can say about this place. Now, I will say that this property was part of a splurge package vacation that we planned for a special trip so so I suppose for the price that you pay this is what I would expect. That said, if this place is in your budget, I would highly recommend it. A few other details to note: - there is a lovely pool in the garden - the Protege restaurant breakfast was very good (was included in our stay) - you can walk to shops and restaurants - about a 15 min walk to the wine tram - our room (4) would have worked for a wheelchair user (barrier free shower and room entry) but the walking path to get to the room is bumpy

At the Good end of 'Very Good' rating. After Erinvale & Stellenbosch, we found Franshhoek a bit quiet (very) empty and a bit soulless. Something is missing and we are not sure what that is! Hotel is nice, & we rated it Good, but leaning towards trying too hard to be too cool, hip and trendy. Loads of Wineries in the area to suit most budgets and tastes, though few walkable. Loads of Restaurant Options again spanning the gamut of Price Points, but too much bias towards the faster varieties for our liking. Thank you. NB. Reception, and Passenger & Luggage drop-off are NOT on the Main Road/High St
