Greatly enjoyed our stay at Cape Vue. Dino and Basil knowledgable and thoughtful hosts. Lovely breakfast with a knockout view. Walkable to town so great location for the full Franschhoek food and wine experience.
Cape Vue Country House is just outstanding. It is situated just off the Main Street so no car is required to visit the local restaurants and the wine tram booking office. It is totally safe to walk even at night. Dino the manager and Basil and Sue the owners are just delightful and couldn’t have been more welcoming. This is only a small country house with about 6 rooms which basil and sue have owned for just over a year so make sure you book early. We stayed in room 1 which was magnificent. Very large, private terrace with table and chairs overlooking the pool and mountains. Ask for this room if you can. The house is spotless. Breakfast on the terrace is perfect with a good buffet choice followed by their specialty, eggs benedict cooked 4 different ways. Dino also brought…
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful property. We parked the car for our stay and just walked in the direction our hosts suggested. Good choices. We also enjoyed the grounds on the property from lying at the relaxing pool and sitting in the beautiful gardens reading. Nice sitting out area for each room. Delicious breakfast enjoying the stunning view of the hills.
Luxurious, elegant and beautifully appointed. Fantastic breakfast, cooked to order, Lovely gardens and communal areas and a well equipped and stocked honesty bar. Couldn't fault a thing, had a great couple of days here - thanks Basil and Dino for everything!
Where do you start! Cape Vue Guest House occupies one of the most stunning locations in Franschhoek overlooking vineyards and surrounded by spectacular views of the mountains. The grounds are beautiful with a nice pool in which to cool off. Basil and Dino are the consummate hosts ensuring you are well looked after and that all your needs are met. We were in a Mountain View room which was incredibly spacious with great facilities including a fridge and a nice balcony overlooking the pool and mountains beyond. The breakfasts were very good and are taken on a patio with stunningviews. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. Originally when booking we were undecided as to whether to split our time between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch but decided it would be nicer to stay in…
