We had one of the best rooms in the Country House. You stepped out of the bedroom onto the lawn, near to the secluded pool. Breakfast was on a unique covered terrace that could be used on both sides, dependant upon the time of year. Lovely breakfast area & the location was ideal for the high street in Franschoek, in fact just a few minutes walk away. The host even gave us a free tasting of his own wines. Nothing was too much trouble. Superb....

I am writing this review from the garden of Cape Vue Hotel here in Franschoek. The hospitality is absolutely outstanding, we have very much enjoyed our stay here at the hotel. The entire guest experience is immecable from the moment you arrive, every moment you are here through to your departure (sadly ours is tomorrow morning and I’ve watched a number of guests depart very happy since we arrived). The breakfast is served in a beautifully decorated open room with high ceilings and lots of light. The food is fantastic. A warm authentic good morning from the team really does come from their hearts. The bedrooms are stunning, comfortable and all guests needs taken care of. The showers are spacious and airy, lots of room to enjoy the wonderful high pressure rain shower. The…

We stayed at Cape Vue for 2 nights during our two week stay in South Africa. If I had my time again I would at the least double our time here. Most beautiful setting and the advantage of a heated pool. Whilst heated for me was still a little chilly for swimming and I only got as far as dangling my legs in it. Rooms are beautiful and beds extremely comfortable. Nothing was a problem for our hosts and the service impeccable. Lovely sitting room to relax in if you did not want to retire to your room. Honesty bar with large selection of drinks and complimentary sherry. Breakfast one of the best we had during our trip to S.A. Selection of fresh breads fruit, cereals and cheese. Hot food cooked to order and delicious. Nothing can beat the view we had whist sitting at our…

Cape Vue was one of our favourite places in South Africa - the photos don’t do it justice. It’s in a great spot just on the edge of Franschhoek but within easy walking distance of the centre. Set within a vineyard it has extraordinary views of the mountains framed by the vines and a beautiful garden reminiscent of an English one until you spot the amazing South Africa plants and some distinctly exotic birds (see photos). We stayed in the honeymoon suite and had the best view from our room of the whole holiday, reminiscent of the highlands of Scotland and Provence rolled into one. We had a lovely welcome from the hotel manager Dino and the owner Basil who is a great raconteur and an absolute hoot. His recommendations of things to do in Franschhoek were spot on. Breakfast was one…

A perfect spot to spend a few days in Franschhoek. Hospitality is second to none, with constant help across the board when asked (dinner reservations, winery recommendations, etc.). The rooms are spacious with views out on the valley and the beds incredibly comfortable. The quick walk to downtown also makes for a very convenient stay. Breakfasts were always tasty with more than enough food and the honor bar system is simple and convenient. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a stay at Cape Vue when visiting Franschhoek. It is a beautiful building with amazing views of the mountains. The rooms are beautifully decorated. It also has a great location on the outskirts of the town. I can’t fault it in anyway. Our only regret is that we were unable to stay for longer than one night. 2 nights in Cape Vue and exploring Franschhoek would be ideal.

We had the most amazing stay at Cape Vue. We stayed for three nights while in Franschhoek. The hotel is beautiful, the service incredible, and I only wish we had stayed longer. We were given brilliant recommendations on local wine farms and restaurants in the village, and the food served at breakfast was always wonderful and delicious. I can't wait to come back and stay at some point!
