Conveniently located near the airport, Hilton Newark Airport offers a full-service restaurant and bar that are popular among many guests. While the hotel provides spacious rooms and a praised shuttle service, some guests have experienced inconsistent service and noted issues with room cleanliness, temperature regulation, and maintenance.
Opinions on value vary, as some travelers feel it's priced fairly, whereas others cite overpricing and datedness. Overall, the hotel's cleanliness is satisfactory, though signs of aging are apparent and some areas could use more attention.

Detailed Reviews
The check in process was a breeze and the staff was very proactive and upfront with providing essential details. The rooms are older but ok in terms of space for a short stay.
But if you really have to eat please save your money and don't eat at the hotel bar which is the only place opened on the weekend. A member of my party had ordered a cut of steak and was given the wrong and less expensive cut. The waiter proceeds to try to convince us that it was what we ordered when it clearly was not. I think it does not take an expert to tell the difference between a t-bone and some other cut. The manager did come and replace the meal, but it was just bad service on part of the waiter thinking he can bs his way and convince a customer otherwise. I do not know if this bar is outsourced but train your staff better. Plus the other food was lukewarm at best. Save your money and try for delivery.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review Squidy508. Please accept my apology about the mix up, I can assure you there is no ill will here, the T-Bone is a brand new item on the menu that obviously someone was confused about. We will correct this.

Needing a place to stay for a night while waiting for a flight after ending a cruise- we found this gem. I’ll keep it short and to the point.
Cruises out of Manhattan can be great deals. Flights to & from Newark can be great deals. For $10 (seniors- $17 for most) you can get to Manhattan from Newark airport. For very little, you can stay at this Hilton and they will pick you up and drop you off at the hotel. For free! All the stars are in alignment.
The hotel staff was very helpful, reached out to us, and was absolutely positive with only one exception, but even she answered our questions accurately. The hotel does show a bit of age but it is clean and well kept. The food at the hotel bar/ cafe was average.
As I said, a good value that increased the value of the other parts of a great vacation. Worth a look.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
This hotel is obviously an older one and could be refurbished. Parking is 24 dollars per day. In the public areas like breakfast area, lobby, bar etc the background music is far too loud! Do not understand. Impossible to make a phone call in that area. The staff at the breakfast is really nice, happy to serve and always approaching with a big smile. The normal buffet price is high, almost 25 dollars for breakfast. Drinks like a red wine in the bar are charged at 12 dollar per glass. This is over the top. Bedrooms and linens are just fine and clean.

Hotel's Favourite
I recently hosted a business event at the end of February and couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Communication with the sales and event manager (Mevy) was super easy and she was very accommodating to our needs. On the day of the event, Yousef was very hands on and catered to all of our needs. Food was excellent (get the falafel!) and overall, my team absolutely loved how the event turned out. Thank you to the Hilton team for making my event a success!

I would not stay at this hotel again. I arrived at Newark Airport last week and took the shuttle to P4 where I was to meet the shuttle to the hotel. I waited almost an hour for the shuttle that is to run every 20 minutes. The gentleman driving the shuttle had no excuse, but he did have a large bag of fast food he was eating as he drove. He was very rough with everyone's bags and left multiple people at the P4 shuttle pick up area as the shuttle was full. Upon arrival at the hotel I waited another 40 minutes to check in as the line was so long minutes. There were two people checking 15 parties in. When I finally got to my turn the hotel demanded a credit card for incidentals even though there was a card on file. I spoke with the feint desk manager Melissa Morales who told me that her hotel in particular has a policy that you must present a credit card upon arrival even if you have a card on file. Now let me tell you that I have been a Hilton Diamond member for 10 years. This is the first time but I've come across this oh, and I spend over 200 days a year in Hilton properties. Miss Morales also advised me but I would not be able to collect Hilton Honors points as I did not make the reservation. I contacted Hilton Honors to ask them about this, and they advised me that I would have to go through the hotel to deal with this issue but that they would be forwarding my letter to the hotel. I wrote to the hotel and to Hilton Honors a total of three times and never received a response. Customer service at this hotel is severely lacking. The room was noisy oh, the bathroom was dirty, and the thermostat was broken. I called twice to ask them to come fix it as my room 82 degrees. I wanted it colder and I put the thermostat all the way down to 65, but the heat would not turn off. Again I would not stay at this hotel again due to their lack of customer service.

Not the best Hilton experience by far. The service was way below most standard no star motels. They don’t honor bookings and don’t really care. The overpriced restaurant has an angry waiter who is either overwhelmed or under motivated too.

Had a nice night here at this Hilton property. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff at check in were extremely quick and professional. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. The bathrooms are probably due for a renovation to match the room style itself, but other wise it was still a clean bathroom. Common areas around the elevators on the floors needed some TLC as well. It was nice that the bar and restaurant was open downstairs during Covid. Server was excellent and they had a nice little selection of beer, drinks and food. The property is also conveniently located near Newark Airport and there is a 24 hour shuttle that will take you to the airport for free. Always a perk. Thank you for the stay.

I spent three nights here in July and largely booked this Hilton based on price. It was at the time the cheapest of the Hilton properties in the Newark area. Property is definitely in need of a refurb. If you are only there for a night or two it would be fine. Anything longer I would look elsewhere in the future.
The restaurant and bar are both very good. As a Diamond member I received a $12 USD per person F&B credit daily which I used towards breakfast. This was very good.
Shuttle service to and from EWR also very efficient and well operated.

I’ve stayed at this hotel before, so my expectations were already low, and again the hotel set a low bar that it failed to achieve.
The check in was ok, and the lobby is just ok but the room was just 'meh'. The whole hotel is old, dirty, run down and tired and the room was in the same theme. No upgrade was offered, even as a diamond. The hotel is right next to a very busy freeway, so you’d expect the windows to be a priority when it comes to keeping the noise down, but in my case the window latch was broken, meaning the window would not completely close and so letting in a lot of outside noise. The view from the sliver of a window was over a cemetery, on the side of the hotel, which I guess is where dreams of a peaceful nights rest go to die. The gap under the door was about 1”, ensuring you get to enjoy the constant slam of doors, cell phone calls and other guests.
The room also features these so-called smart thermostats that in reality do not work and just click in and out all night, constantly waking you up. Obviously, the whole concept was lost on the installer, who installed the thermostat on a wall at 90-degrees to the bed, ensuring the thermostat never detects that you are in the room, which results in stuffy, hot rooms and you having to get out of bed to activate the motion sensor. Even waving your hands around is insufficient.
There is are no amenities within walking distance (and honestly, you’d be mad to even consider walking around this part of Newark at any time of the day or night) so you are a captive to overpriced, average food in the restaurant. The ridiculous Hilton Food and Beverage credit does not go far, and on check out had been conveniently forgotten about, until it was mentioned by me.
The only time you’ll feel happy at this hotel is on the shuttle bus when you are leaving. My summary of this hotel is one word “avoid”.

This hotel is stuck in the eighties. Really bad decor and very worn out furnishings.
The Pantry is overpriced $4.00 for a bottle of coke and $4.00 for iced tea. These are normal vending machine sized bottles. No prices listed in the pantry, so probably wouldn’t have purchased if I had known.
Restaurant prices typical of a hotel. High but food good. Rooms quiet, except for housekeeping staff still working on our floor and banging around at 6pm.
Reception rude and not personable. We went to the Hilton honors desk and the fellow said sorry can’t help you I just logged on. What’s that all about.
Found a cigarette down the side of the sofa in our room.
Would definitely never stay here again.

I am assuming you have already made it back. But if you haven't I believe we had to take a little light rail to the location where all of the hotel shuttles stop for pickup
Their shuttles run 24/7; I recommend calling the front desk to let them know you’re there due to the hour.
Shahan,
Can you please share more information about when you think this happened?
