Nice alternative to the bigger, pricier options around this hotel. Parking was free vs $15/night at MGM & NY NY. Rooms were nice if you get past the somewhat odd decor. Casino was much smaller than the others but I liked that. Lots of nice big casinos in quick walking distance if you prefer that.
I like how it was a smaller hotel. Meant less people and craziness. The rooms were large and clean. I didn’t like the fact you could hear the toilet flushing through the walls or that there were no curtains to block out the lights coming from the shutters at night.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Location is very good down the south of the strip beside MGM. Check in was fast and the arrival cookies were delicious. Stayed in the Club tower and rooms did not have a fridge also there was a burst pipe that left the carpet in the hallway wet on floors 6,7,8. Rooms are nice but only have shutters as blinds for Windows which you face the strip or the airport. No tea or coffee making facilities are available in the room. Vending machines on each floor. Food options are limited with no fast food brands on site. Overall a good stay and location.
Overall the location is ok, quickly get to the MGM Grand, and Hooters. They do not own the sportsbook, so you wont receive any comps for your play there, but you can make a little walk to MGM Grand and ask for drink tickets with a $10 bet you get 1 free drink, $20 bet you get 2, The other comps are kind of weak at Tropicana, mainly because the the Pit boss really cant monitor everything well. They have only one blackjack table going sometimes, and not a lot of table games in comparison to other casinos I have stayed at. They did pay for my resort fee, but any other casino I stayed at will comp everything including food for the type of play and its consistency. In the same price range I prefer treasure Island. I played more at Trop than Treasure Island, and they comped everything including a limo to and from the air port. I would only stay again if they comped everything in advance. Friendly staff at Tropicana makes up for some other weaknesses, Def stay in the paradise tower, the other tower is about a 150 yard walk to get anywhere. The rooms were slightly below average, but the service was there. I tried to be as non-bias as I could in order to help a traveler, but my experience with the low comp level wasn't good.
Good Location on the Strip. Nice Casino. Food was a little bit of everything. Upscale Steak Restaurant. Tired Rooms. Nice enough but definitely nothing special, especially when compared to other Strip hotels.
