We stayed at the hotel for 5 days, absolutely not worth the price! Front desk and bar staff was nice and helpful, as well as the hostesses at the Commons restaurant. Service at the pool was absolutely unprofessional, borderline hostile. They were checking the bags rigorously, we were not allowed to bring and food or drinks, even though they stop service at 4pm, not even water which is just inhumane considering that you are in a dessert with the temperature above 100F. The pool closes at 6pm which is ridiculous for a resort and a city like Vegas. At the end they make you throw your towels in a very tall bin and as a cherry on top they start pounding on your beds yelling ’closing’! Absolutely unprofessional and an embarrassment for a brand like Hilton!
I wanted a hotel that was a little more laid-back than the hotels on the Strip. This place was perfect. I was in Vegas completely solo for one night. Wish I could have stayed longer. Check-in at Vegas hotels can be a pain with long lines. But not here. I got checked in after only a few minutes. With my Hilton Diamond status, I was upgraded from a standard king to a trendy and spacious king suite in Ruby Tower. Bathroom was huge. I love that the suite has a little entryway separated from the rest of the room. I ate at two of the restaurants, and they were both delicious. Casa Calavera was my favorite. Had the shrimp tacos. Tiny, but really good. In my experience, the staff here were all stellar. Even just passing staff in the hall, they always gave a friendly hello. The only problem I experienced was that I couldn't figure out how to work the rainfall shower. I honestly think it was broken because I tried everything. Fortunately the wand worked fabulously; so no harm, no foul. I can definitely see myself staying here again next time I'm in Vegas, and the fact that there are no resort fees will likely make this hotel my very first choice. …
There are better hotels then this one, that are cheaper. Can’t bring any drinks to pool area, they want you to buy there’s only. No place in showers to set soap shampoo etc except on the floor. Bathroom
This is a cute Hotel off the strip. My friend and I stayed at the Ruby Tower, which was nice. It has it's own entrance which was nice. The lobby was cute with beautiful colors. The staff was very nice. The room was nice but there are some cleaning issues. I happen to drop my ring next to the mini bar and when I looked, it was very dirty. It was very dusty, had wrappers, paper and plastic silverware under it. The bathroom was clean. In the little room were the toilet is located, the floor was spotty half clean. This place really want you to spend money on the property. They want you to eat at restaurants in the hotel. The restaurants are expensive. The room did not have a coffee maker, fridge nor a microwave. These are some of the amenities that can sometimes break or make a hotel. Coffee at Dukin Dounts waiting in line for over 30 minutes is ridiculous, Brining leftovers from the restaurant no way to warm it up no microwave. Can't store anything cold, no fridge. Will I stary here again, I don't think so. The only reason we stay here in the first place is because of a concert at the hotel. Sorry Virgin.…
So many things gone wrong on our first day. It got better later, but… The hotel and grounds are nice, but not lavish for a Vegas hotel. It’s clean and modern with a small Casino area by Lobby checkin and a few restaurants surrounding it. Checkin took a very, very long 30 minutes waiting in line. We are Amex platinum members and used platinum concierge to book so received some food and beverage credits via an envelope stating such via Amex. There was No Line for any Premier or Club reservations. After walking a very long way to our room in the Opal Tower, we find that our keys DON’T WORK (after waiting half an hour to check in) and had to walk all the way back to the lobby checkin and wait again! We arrived back with the keys and the room was too small for our family of 4 to stay in. Thus, a call was made to find adjoining rooms and a need to go back to the lobby checkin for new keys to new rooms. We went back down the hall with the new keys now An hour later after our first check in and found that the “adjoining room” was just a King Room with no adjoining door to the room next door! Argghhh!!!! Another trip down to the lobby checkin and mind you, these are long, cavernous corridors to trek. Finally, my husband negotiated a different accommodation in the Canyon Towers for our adjoining rooms and we stayed in a King/Two Queen adjoining suite. This was basically a New York city apartment with a powder room, dining room, living room, bar area, large separate soaking tub and shower area and separate toilet area with bidet in the king suite. The queen room was large and suited the teens fine. We could probably have had them on the sofas in the king suite, but it was more than ample space for us all. As for the restaurants, we loved and still talk about the delicious coastal Italian bites we ate, and our amazing breakfasts (chicken and waffles were best ever had!) for the two days we stayed. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the very early pool closing and early closing of poolside food and drinks ordering - so we didn’t even have a chance to use either the first day after all the botched checkin episodes. Plus, there very limited chair availability or usage. And you can’t move chairs and the shady area above is for 21+ but this is a family oriented hotel. Doesn’t make sense. Also, the staff were very brusque at the pool. Did not enjoy this experience at all. So many places in vegas do a far better job at accommodating their guests and kids. It’s unfortunately not Virgin’s focus.…
