Beautiful hotel that is ideal for a large business meeting or convention. Very friendly staff in all departments. The hotel’s setting facing Lake Las Vegas is spectacular even in January . Would also recommend for those looking for a site for a family vacation.
If you look on Marriott’s website and even some here, there are a lot of mixed reviews on this place. Here’s an honest review from a guy who travels a ton for work (I’m titanium elite with Marriott). I did previously work in hospitality, as well as aquatics facility and resort management…so I’m a bit critical. My $0.02 is that most of the bad reviews have come from missed expectations. Quick rundown of who should or should not book this. Book this resort if — - You want something that isn’t the Vegas strip. - You want a quiet lakeside resort. - You’re good with clean, straightforward rooms. - You want something family friendly. - You want something away from everything. Don’t book this resort if — - You want a casino experience. - You want want class restaurants. - You need to have the newest hottest rooms. - You want shows, entertainment, and endless options. Catch my drift? As far as the actual experience goes, checking in was easy, and they were able to accommodate me three hours prior to check in, and gave me a worthy room upgrade. The room was clean, and they had plenty of toiletries in the room. Staff was nice and always accommodating towards everything, and helped with late checkout when flight plans changed for us. Facility is aging some, and the meat and potatoes of what needs to be solid is solid. There are some cosmetic updates that it could use, otherwise. As far as on-site “things to do.” There are two large pools. One is more family focused, the other is more adults focused. There is towel service, and the top pool has cocktail and food service running when we were there. Tons of chairs, cabanas available for rent, and some umbrellas available. Pool was clean, and right before we jumped in, some kid threw up in it. They had an army of five maintenance guys come out of nowhere to clean it up, shock the water, and have people wait. It was handled well. There are family game areas, and a beach inflatable splash area on-site, too. If this isn’t enough for you, there’s a rental office attached to the hotel that does Polaris Slingshot rentals, paddle boarding, and kayak rentals, among other things. I can only speak to breakfast for the food, but the restaurant was fine. Service was solid, but the food was hit or miss. Some things were great, others were just okay. The main point of feedback for this facility actually is with the lifeguards. They’re incredibly glazed over, and didn’t seem to be trained well. For example, they were letting kids go down the water slide headfirst into a 3.5 ft entry. That’s a spinal injury waiting to happen. Also, another guard left post to go move an umbrella for someone on the deck, instead of calling for one of the four dudes in Westin polos on the deck. Whoever manages these lifeguards needs to watch their facility better than this. All in all, if you book for the right reasons, you’ll love it.…
My fiance and I have stayed at many beautiful resorts throughout the world, and the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa is our new favorite - thanks in particular to its outstanding GM, Greg Gooding. He is by far the most affable, attentive, caring, warm, and overall delightful GM we have ever encountered - who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, relaxed, and appreciated! Rena at the front desk is also very friendly and helpful. The resort itself is beautiful, situated right on Lake Las Vegas with stunning lake views throughout the property. Thanks to the incredible location and amazing service we received (especially from GM Greg Gooding and Rena) my fiance and I enjoyed a wonderful experience and are looking forward to many future stays at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa!…
It has been 6 years since I last stayed at this property it was nice then and has only gotten better. Food and banquet staff were wonderful. Room was nice and the view beautiful. Their General Manager, Greg even made it a point to stop and say hello. All in all I had a very nice stay and hope that I have need to make a return visit to the area.
I recently attended a business conference at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and was very impressed with the level of service from their staff. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable, and the view of the lake was absolutely beautiful. The property is located in a quiet area far from the main road where it is so peaceful and quiet. Kudos to the head chef for the delicious food that was served and Paula in the food and beverage department for greeting me with a warm welcome and a smile every morning.
Gorgeous property and top-notch service. It’s a hidden gem for the family and business trip. They have it all. The management team is doing an outstanding job keeping the resort very clean and inviting. Thank you for making my stay making my family feel very special
Just arrived waited a while to check in - headed to the onlly restaurant that was open (the sushi restaurant had diners but said they were closed). It was 9:30, first we waited at the hostess stand for 10 mins and then were told they were not accepting any diners. I pointed to the sign that said open until 10pm and the hostess said > it is a half hour wait for a table and then we close. And she did not give a hoot. Wow - that is no way to treat guests. Zero stars.
Really nice stay at Westin Lake Las Vegas. Room is very large, comfortable bed, nice overhead shower, all very good. Room has a fridge. Nice views across the lake. Lots of free parking, safe area. Really good breakfast buffet, everything was very good on the buffet. For sure will stay again. Maybe 25 minute drive from the airport.
**LOCATION** (2/5) This will sound strange, since people who go to lake Las Vegas usually does it to get away from Las Vegas craziness, we want a peaceful place, having said that, there is absolutely NOTHING nearby except a couple restaurants and even food delivery is scarce (unless you're willing to pay a hefty premium for it) The plaza next to the Hilton is absolutely dead. There is 1 bar, 1 mexican restaurant, 1 little coffee/tea shop and a chocolate place. That's it. **HOTEL AMENITIES** (1/5) When you think of a Resort, you think of pool, cabanas, jacuzzi, etc... Sure, this hotel does have a pool and a jacuzzi, but .... it closes at 5 PM! Think about this: Check in is at 3 PM but pool area closes at 5 PM! I have never seen this before in my life. As a couple, when we travel we love our late night soaks in the jacuzzi while having a drink and talking to the other guests. It's always a good time. Here, they want you in bed by 6. The gym is not too bad , only reason i'm giving them a point on this category. They actually at least hav a cable machine where I could get a good workout going. The gaming area is sad, the ping pong balls were bent and broken, chess pieces were thrown all over the place, they really do not take good care of this place. At night they lit up firepits so we thought we'd hang out by the fire and enjoy our time. However, the firepits are not even close to the seating area, so it was freezing. Go figure **ROOM** (1.5/5) The room is like every basic entry level hotel. Nothing to write home about. The pillows were beyond awful, as firm as a rolled up T shirt. There was garbage left in my trashcan. BUT ill give them a point for having a TV with Netflix built in. Which is something many hotels are still lacking on. **STAFF/SERVICE** (2/5) I have the highest status possible on Marriott (except for lifetime I suppose) I asked the person who checked me in for a lake view and was told they were all booked....there was basically no one staying at the hotel, which i quite laughable. I'm not mad at it, I don't feel entitle to upgrades, but I have never been to an empty hotel, having the highest level of status on the chain and been denied a really nice upgrade. Hilton would NEVER. I did not interact with any other staff so can't say much else **RESTAURANTS** (1.5/5) There is a continental breakfast for $28 per person. Bacon, Eggs, Sausage, Potatoes, Ommeletes, cereal and bread. I asked the kitchen to just send me a plate with sauteed vegetables, they just sent me vegetables with eggs sprinkled on top ( I thought eggs were expensive, but here they're giving them away even when you don't want them!!) If you like very healthy options such as bacon and sausages in the morning, you'll love paying the $30 for this, the sad part is that there are no other options for breakfast in the area, except for starbucks which only has coffee and a couple other items really. **CONCLUSION / FINAL REMARKS** As awful as the experience in this hotel was, the fact there is nothing to do after 5 PM, and we couldn't even get any decent food delivered, I don't blame Marriott itself, Lake Las Vegas is dead. There is no business here, no incentive for people to move their business to the area and therefore no reason for visitors to come out here. I would much rather have stayed at a hotel in Vegas itself as a "staycation" or gone to another city for a real getaway. It is sad what has happened to Lake Las Vegas, this place used to be fun and this hotel a nice haven to relax after a long day enjoying the scenery. Not anymore. …
This resort has definitely seen better days. It may look glamorous in photos but during our visit was dirty, trash piled up on bins, no room service - had to look hard to find someone to empty our room trash after 3 days and get some towels. It is located in the middle of nowhere so unless you want to drive 30 minutes you're stuck with the overpriced hotel restaurants. Amenities - pool is OK but small hot tub always full of kids at any hour of the day, most else closed for the season and frustrating that they add a $29 per day "resort fee" when there isn't much of a "resort". Surprised this is even a Westin branded hotel. Suggest looking elsewhere.
