For the outside this looks like a cement bunker but the inside doesn't match the outside. It is a little outdated but the rooms are huge and clean! The best part about the room was the amazing shower! It had awesome water pressure and the water got really hot and stayed that way for a long time! The staff was very friendly and helpful!!! If you are looking for a high end place to stay, this is not it. There is nothing fancy about it but it is comfortable and clean. I had no complaints!

We were in Chinook for a weekend Gun show. This is a very nice room, warm, and the best beds I have ever slept in. It was busy & there are trains thru town that we did not hear. Very nice clean room & the people were very accomodating letting us put our luggage in room early. Great show, great people in whole town & super place to stay,--heard bad things about other motel----highly recommend!!!

I have stayed at the Bear Paw many years while bird hunting in this part of MT. It has always been a very clean and comfortable place to stay. The owner lives on site and is very attentive to individual needs. It has all the requirements one needs for a 3+ day stay and some of the rooms include kitchenettes.

This was by far the worst place I've ever stayed in my life. The room decor was from the 60's. The TV is a 12" flat screen that you need binoculars to see. The heater is an old wall mount and it took forever to heat the room. No tub. The carpet was disgusting. There was an old avocado green chair from the 70's in my room and it was all ripped up and broken. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. YUK! Reminded me of a place you'd see on the news where someone was killed or OD'd on heroine.

nice place. Clean, quiet & comfortable bed. What else can you ask for? There's also a TV, fridge & microwave, plus a desk and an easy chair. The place is spartan, probably built in the 1950's, but it has hot running water, heat, a place to work and I got a good night's sleep. It's like stepping back in time, but all in all a nice place. Single story means no one upstairs, and it is far enough form the train tracks and the highway that it stays fairly quiet.

My hunting buddies and I stayed at the Bear Paw Motel for 3 consecutive nights (11/13/14 to 11/15/14 inclusive). We were on a hunting trip and the weather was bitter cold. Our room at the hotel was warm and cozy. It was equipped with a refrigerator, a micro wave, two small televisions, cable TV, and a reliable internet connection. There was plenty of hot water for showers after a day out hunting in sub zero cold. To our pleasant surprise we had two rooms in our "suite" -- a large bedroom and a smaller one. The large bedroom was big enough to accommodate a roll away bed (there were 3 of us). All at a very reasonable cost -- $85 per night inclusive of taxes and a $10 fee per night for the roll away. We thought this was an great deal for the money. We plan to stay there again

Not sure how this one ended up #1 in Chinook, must be because no one has reviewed the other bigger, nicer place to stay in town. Anyhow, this place is a good stop for the worker who just needs a bed and a shower and absolutely nothing else. Bed and bathroom were very clean, but the pillows were so flat that when I first looked at the bed I thought it was missing pillows even though they were under the coverlet. Mystery stains on carpet and side of box spring, but overall impression of room was clean and very very old. I did not use the tiny TV hanging on the wall, but the wifi, once I got the password, was much better than a lot of places I have stayed. I stayed here because they allow pets and I was in town for divisional volleyball tournaments. A very busy time for motels in

Im going on long trips across the states, and I stayed at some very cheap hotels. Most are fairly reasonable, especially ma-and-pop ones. The Bear Paw is a bit hard to find, tucked in behind some stores, and it does NOT look very pretty from the outside. After paying my 40 dollars, and getting my Key, I saw the door, and it felt so flimsy that I would break it, there was also some construction going on. But apart from these exteriors the interior surprised me. They had reliable internet, good ac, a flatscreen TV on the wall. A nice leather chair, and it looked pretty clean! Usually I can tell by how well the bed is made, If they take enough care to make the bed properly, im sure they took the time to change the sheets. I would defiantly stay here again, I enjoyed it.

I found this gem of a motel while traveling with my little 4 lb Chihuahua while on our way to Glacier Nat'l Park. Everyone at this motel was friendly. I was given a room that had an extra bedroom for only $60 a night. The room was clean, and the bed was as comfy as motel beds can get. There was a nice place to walk my dog near my room. The room had a micro and frig which I used after going to a nearby grocery store for some goodies. Fifteen miles south of Chinook was a very interesting, historic place called the Bear Paw Battlefield. I highly recommend this motel. Sorry pic is in black & white. My camera was set wrong. I don't have pic of the 2nd bedroom.
