Detailed Reviews
I stayed at Viajero Sayulita between December 10 to 17, 2022 as a solo female traveler in the 8 bed female dorm. I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel overall. The hostel is located on a hill The beds in the dorm were super comfortable and I liked the privacy curtain so you could have your own space if needed. Each bed had outlets and a shelf for your belongings and a large locker underneath the bunk bed. There was also a private washroom in the dorm which was convenient, and the hot water for showers was fantastic! I liked the balcony that each dorm had as well, and it was an nice place to sit in the evenings. The Wi-Fi wasn't very strong in my dorm on the fourth floor but it seemed to work better if I sat on the balcony or went up to the rooftop.
My favourite part about the hostel was the rooftop patio and pool! There are incredible views from the patio at the hostel restaurant and the pool. The patio was spacious with lots of seating options. I enjoyed the pool and it was so refreshing to do for a quick dip on hot afternoons.
The hostel is located on top of a hill that is accessed by steps and a steeper uphill street. It's a bit of a workout to get to, but the views definitely make it worth the effort. Just be aware of this if you have any mobility issues.
The hostel offered social activities every day, which included yoga, bar hopping, salsa, DJs, beach trips, etc. I didn't end up participating in any of the hostel activities, but I liked that the hostel had a nice social vibe and everyone seemed friendly and welcoming. The hostel had a party on Saturday night at the rooftop restaurant which was a little bit loud when I was trying to sleep, but the other nights were pretty chill and quiet.
The hostel had 24/7 staff which was comforting in terms of security. Sayulita in general appeared to be very safe and I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable as a solo female traveler, even when getting back after dark.
Overall, I would recommend this hostel and would stay here again on a future trip to Sayulita!

I had a very comfortable stay and met some great people! The rooftop pool is awesome. Staff were all nice and put on lots of great events and really made an effort to know your name and invite you to do things - especially Alan!
The beds are comfortable and have curtains and the rooms have AC. The cleaner in our room Jessica was super friendly and always offered to change my sheets for me whenever I wanted if I was staying longer term!

Beautiful hostel but didn’t have a very warm or inviting atmosphere in my opinion. Lots of stairs so it sucks if you have a suitcase. They cold also use a hang out spot to socialise with other travellers as they currently have the bar and restaurant and then you feel obliged to buy something and the prices are a bit steep if you ask me. A corona was 50 pesos, and the kiosks right outside charges 19.

The deck, pool, and rooftop bar are absolutely stunning! But I wish I had stayed somewhere else as this hostel is best suited for 20-something heavy drinkers, I think.
My private room was lovely if pricey at over $100 usd/night once you add in taxes. The free morning yoga, Friday salsa lessons, and breakfast are nice perks. But the place is just constantly loud and I really struggled to sleep with some of the drunker guests pretty much screaming outside my window all night. I felt bad for the hostel's neighbors, as this place really does seem like a menace in an otherwise quiet part of town.
Also the Internet is terribly slow at best and frequently didn't work at all.

Nice beds for a 8 person mixed dorm.
The best about this hostel is it's design with several towers providing a pool, restaurant, as well as a self-serfing kitchen.
And an amazing view down to the ocean and the surrounding landscape!
Special shout out to the cleaning staff Jessica and Jasmine who did a really nice job and were always friendly and nice to talk to!

The reception is very warm and they are always very friendly at the front desk, always attentive. The beds are very comfortable and clean, the cleaning people Janet and Jessica are very good at their jobs.
The pool and the atmosphere is very good in the restaurant and bar, definitely the best place if you are traveling alone or with friends.
100% recommended
The only drawback is the climb but it is worth the exercise

This hostel does indeed have fantastic views. The pool is excellent. I'm staying in a single, which has a futon, a kitchen, dining table, and an en suite bathroom. The food is also excellent.
But I specifically wanted to call out Roman, a friendly face and bartender extraordinaire who is capable of identifying just the perfect drink for your mood.

Very good attention from all the staff. They do daily activities such as yoga and other tours that include food, bars and surfing. The hostel has many stairs so consider that before booking. However, I highly recommend staying here.
