While remote it was worth the drive. Looking down from the Infiniti pool to the reservoir below is spectacular. Hotel is a little quiet, not many guests as still recovering from covid. We liked the quietness. Some reviewers say it's spooky but I disagree, it's a slice of jungle paradise. We booked the family room which looks towards the sea and jungle. Book a lagoon view room for views over the reservoir. Rooms were clean, spacious and luxurious. Meals are available although a limited menu is offered. Road is a little dicey for a small hatchback but we managed.

A 4.5 hour drive (expensive) brought us to the hotel and we left the day after in the morning even though we had another night at the place. If we could, we would have left the same day we arrived. Some of the other reviews here describes it perfectly: it feels like a ghost hotel. And the tables where you eat are packed with bugs that crawls out to get your food. Furthermore, the food was either "sold out" or completely boring/over cooked and way to expensive. The breakfast the same. . The staff seemed nice though, when they were around. The most saddest part is that the hotel really could be great - it has a lot of potential because of the view from the restaurant. But if you look down on the ground, for an example from your room, you see a lot of trash. I hope they get it together..

This is my first review after many months not posting on TripAdvisor, but I feel very obligated to warn visitors about this hotel! I was so attracted by the cheap price on booking.com and pictures of this hotel, that I forgot to read the reviews here om tripadvisor. From the main road, it took us 20-30 minutes by car to get to this hotel. We were passing small roads, paddy fields, very quiet, in the middle of nowhere, but the view was very beautiful, that I told my husband, this is going to be a great hotel with a great view (just like the pictures). But the reality?? The hotel was like an abandoned hotel, exactly like a set of horror movie. Really quiet (we only saw two staffs). No wifi. No tv. Dusty room. I was trying to convice myself not to be scared by asking the staffs was there any guest other than us. They told us that there is one other guest. It looked like it WAS probably a beautiful hotel long time ago, but it is like an abandoned hotel. After staying less than 30 minutes in our balcony room, we decided to leave the hotel without even spending the night! That was our first time doing so, but that was because I told my husband that I am too scared to stay (the hotel seems to be lacking of staff, it is very far from the main road, and the hotel itself is very spooky!). Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the hotel. I do not want to destroy anyone's business, but I feel tricked by the pictures of this hotel posted here or booking.com, and I do not want other visitors to have any similar experience like we did.

I don’t know weather I loved it or hated it. This resort will be absolutely spectacular when it’s finished being ‘fixed up’. (Change of management at the moment). I would never go back now, lots of things not working etc, but would be keen to visit again when it’s all up and running. Do yourself a favour and save your money (u til approx 2022 lol) unless you like ‘abandoned’ creepy places. Was an experience to say the least.

There were to many things not working that made us decide to leave. The menues were old and incorrect, the pool and pool area was very dirty, the wifi was bad and we could not pay with our credit card. They told us about all the different breakfast they had but they did not tell us we had to pay extra for almost everything. We tried to use the canoe but the path down was to risky and the canoe did not look safe. They wanted us to pay 500.000 rupies and go on a city tour when all we wanted was to go down to the beach as their website said they could arrange for free. Thats why we decide to leave them as soon as we could, we had booked three night but left Afternoon one! I am sorry about all of this as their resort could have been a paradise and it made us so disapointed it was a wreck! Do not blame the staff, they for sure did the best they could do under the circumstances

I chose this hotel for our last night of our trip in Bali. We had in mind to stay for a complete afternoon, enjoying the massages, the view and the swimming pool. As written in other comments, do not follow the indications on Google Maps (maybe the owner could correct it...). Apparently Waze has the right location. We arrived and the boggey was not working. You have to know that this place is divided in two parts, distant from ~100m. We were given a newly renovated bungalow. Unfortunately, some things were still dirty or broken (pillows, canopy, the balustrades in front of the bungalow were broken...), some lights were not functionning (and we were not explained how to switch on some lights, for which we had to put the key in a hole in the wall in a specific way). Then we were annonced that Wifi was not available in the bungalow and that we had to go back to the reception to have it. We had done the Kawa Ijen trekking the morning so we were eager to wash ourselves. But no water! So no toilets and no bathroom... We asked for the list of available massages and the menu for dinner. They told us that only 2 out of 8/10 massages were available but hopefully that they had everyting on the menu.We had to do our check in for our flights to go back to France so we went to the reception were we were supposed to get Wifi. But it was not working. After 25/30 of waiting, they gave us access to another Wifi that was finally working. They even told us that the water pump had been repaired! So we went to the bungalow... But still no water.... We ordered dinner, just to be told that what we had ordered was not available.... (contrary to what they had told us an hour before). So to sum up: -no water for a full afternoon (we brushed our teeth thanks to water we had brought) -no Wifi in bungalows -no way to join the reception (a phone in the bungalows maybe) so we had to do many back and forth to the reception (~100m, it is not much but after 5/6 times you get bored, I can guarantee that) -only few massages available -missing plates on the menu (contrary to what we had been told) -very poor explanations by the staff -still broken and dirty things (pillows & canopy, lights) -we had not the right remote control for the air conditioner so we could not switch it off. I have to admit they have an awesome view, and that the staff tried to do things well with what they had. So I guess this is mainly a management issue. So in the morning, I wanted to talk to manager to complain and maybe get a discount. But he was not there at 9am.... In a few words, worst hotel we have been to.

This hotel really nice view, nice pool, nice room with ourdoor bathtub and shower, but unfortunately bad management since they did not manage it properly and the real access to this hotel not good enough. The important thing is DO NOT FOLLOW DIRECTION IN GOOGLE MAP, it's wrong idea better you ask local people and hope government will know about this so they will help to develop this area. Remember location near Catholic Church in Palasari

Where to start?! Everything were so wrong that it ever could go. This place was horrible and should been shutdown a while ago. We felt very screwed up to booked this hotel. Don’t look at the hotels website, everything there is a big lie. Pictures are at least 10 years old and stories about activities are also only an advertise, nothing is a true. Having a Spa? -There were any! Having a Bicycling? Bikes were broken! We had booked 7 nights but stayed only 1 night. We loose very big money but it was more safety to go away than stay. Buildings were very old, bad conditions, I mean like broken. For example every lights was broken so we needed to use our own mobile light to get back to our room at night. There were lots of spiders, mosquitos, flies, ants and other bugs. Ok, we were at the jungle but can I please ask not to have those bugs in the room inside. The hotel area was very dirty including also room and pool area. Pool looked so awful that we couldn’t even go there. Food was bad and very expensive and Menu included only a few variations. Yes there were breakfast including, but nobody told us, that it is only an Indonesian breakfast. The were only a few people working as a staff. They tried to be nice but sorry to tell that there were no professional at all. I don’t blame them I blame the manager. Everything what we asked, staff had to ask for the manager. Manager says always no. The staff had rules what to follow but no allowed to make good customer service. The most horrible experience what we ever has been and we had travel a lot a all over the world. Petri&Suvi 33 years

We really loved staying here, once we found it, and wished we could stay longer. The rooms are spacious and maintain an elegance from an earlier era. Staff are excellent - friendly, efficient, helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was good. We both selected from the Indonesian Menu. The breakfast (included) was also good - juice, fruit, eggs, toast, coffee and tea. Don't rely on Google to navigate your way here. Better to use Google to Jl Palasari then switch it off and watch for signs. The scenery along the way is just fabulous. This resort has so much potential. It is in the process of renovation and we could see some refurbishment around the pool area. The pool water was cloudy, we didn't swim as it wasn't very inviting. The rooms are round with thick thatch rooves. In our room every chair needed reupholstering. The balcony, while solid in construction, has decorative timbers warping and hanging off it. The glass in the doors is bevelled, an expensive option, which shows that it was well built and well designed. None of the small faults distracted from the beautiful views of the lake and mountains. The outdoor shower was wonderful. I sincerely hope we return in a year or so to see all the refurbishment completed and the hotel full of guests. It could be easily be a high end retreat of some sort - yoga, writers, artists.
