We stayed a night before our flights out of MSP and were very happy with the entire property. The fact that it's attached to the Mall of America was fun for our kids and their pool was perfect for us. All the public areas were clean and the few staff we saw were friendly. The room was clean and everything worked as it should (including the a/c which is normally an issue for me in hotels.) Parking was easy to get to and from (under the hotel) and felt very safe. The quick access to MSP was perfect and easy to navigate. We will definitely return this summer for fun and then again a couple times in the fall before flights again!

By far, the most well equipped fitness facility of any hotel I have stayed at, with numerous cardio machines, weights machines, free weights and squat rack / Smith machine. Located attached to the Mall of America, it is also within walking distance of Ikea and eyesight of the Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport. However, during our stay they were not offering shuttle service, most likely due to Covid-19. Typical Marriott level comfort and room convenience, although my requested Queen Suite upgrade wasn't available

Stay Report - 5/14 to 5/15 Location: The hotel is literally located inside the Mall of America around their north entrance.  I arrived on the Light Rail from MSP (a steal at $2) and got confused walking through the mall.  The entrance from the Mall is not well signed: there's key card only access on the 2nd floor or you can cut through the Cedar + Stone Restaurant.  The hotel also has its own pick up spot and entrance on the other side of the lobby.   Hotel: Very nice and modern.  There's a large lobby that has a lovely design as well as a small bar.  Cedar + Stone Restaurant has an excellent bar and was a great spot for the two meals I had.  There is a lounge on the 15th floor though it's current closed.  I was told I could go to its alcove for coffee and soda at least.   Check In: A very friendly agent checked me in.  I was offered points or a $10 F&B credit as a welcome amenity and then due to the lounge being closed I got a $40 breakfast credit.  Every member of the hotel staff I dealt with were really friendly and grave great service.  Room: I used an SNA ahead of time and my suite was very nice.  I had a full living room with wet bar, large bathroom with separate tub and shower, large bedroom with outlets next to the bed and a big closet.  The Wifi worked well and shower was great.  Plus I'm always happy to have Aromatherapy Associates bath products.  I will note that the room doesn't really feel like a JW.  In fact, it's almost impossible to tell this room apart from a renovated Marriott room. Dining: A real high point.  I arrived late and had some beers and dinner at Cedar + Stone and then had an incredible brunch there.  Service, food selection and quality were all excellent. Overall this is a good property with excellent service.  I'd be happy to return.

We had a family birthday weekend at this hotel in the Mall of America. We have had many outings at this hotel and their restaurant, Cedar and Sone. It was one of our favorite places to meet prior to covid. We met at hotel checkin and there was no one there, I mean not one person behind the desk! We waited to check-in for 27 minutes. Our room, which we requested early check-in was not ready until 4:00. Prior to covid we were Marriott reward platinum members. We called the restaurant the day before to order a cake. They did not answer or return our email request. We brought our own cake and were told there may be a cutting cost. When we asked how much the host could not find the cost so stated. " they must not be charging one now." Our meal was ok. The waitress was phenomenal but when we got our $450 bill we saw a $25 cake cutting charge. We asked the host why it was there when he said there would not be a charge. He looked right at us and said, " I never said that" He lied right in front of the whole family that heard him say it. We asked for the manager who just gave us platitudes while not wearing a mask. None of the management were wearing masks even though the hotel, restaurant and Mall require masks. We even had to get masks for the little kids. It is so disappointing to see this great hotel go down so fast and so far. There are more employees at a Fairfield Inn than were working at that hotel. The ones that were working were so poorly trained it was embarrassing. I worked for the original Marriott. We had days of training. The original owner of that Marriott would be so saddened to see his employees accusing customers of lying, of a front desk left empty and such a poorly trained staff. Their excuse was covid really hurt us, we can't find employees. If you want to go to the Mall of America go to the Radisson Blu. They have trained employees and their restaurant really wants customers to enjoy the experience. We spent thousands at that JWMarriott but will never eat or stay their again.

I very rarely write poor reviews, however I am pretty aggravated by the lack of concern or care to make something right. My 17 year old daughter and I stayed at the JW Marriott Bloomington Mall Of America hotel last week for 1 night and overall the stay was fine. Nothing exceptional, just a basic hotel with a high price. Luckily we stayed using points otherwise I would have been a little let down. Anyway, my issue is that she left her newly purchased Lululemon leggings in the bathroom by mistake and supposedly they were not there when housekeeping supposedly looked. We drove straight to my friends house from the hotel and didn't unpack or touch anything until we arrived there, where we discovered her leggings were not in our suitcases or bags. I realize things get left behind and have done so with little items and disregarded them. Since these are not a cheap item, I wanted to make sure we got them back. My daughter called the hotel and spoke with whomever answered the phone, who stated she would call her back regardless after she checked in their "log of missing items". Over 24 hours later she had not received a phone call so I called and spoke with another person who answered the phone, explained the deal and he put me on hold for 5 minutes. After that they stated they would check with housekeeping to "look again" and call me back. I did receive a call about within 10 minutes stating they were not found and offered no solution. Just because something wasn't in the log, doesn't mean that this wasn't left behind. People have sticky fingers, especially with a high price popular item such as this. I do understand they are not fully responsible for lost items, however I also know for a fact that they were left in the bathroom and should be returned to us. I've emailed the hotel twice in addition to my calls and they are not being returned. There are plenty of other hotels to stay at all over the country, as I travel a lot, this gives me a very bad taste in my mouth to stay at a JW hotel again. I've worked in hospitality and also know there are things that can be done to try to make this right and keep us as customers. SO disappointed. I guess just thoroughly check every nook and cranny before you leave your rooms at this place because your items left behind may not be "logged"... :(
