Stayed in the Quinta for one weekend, the rooms are spacious and very clean. The breakfast is just perfect, and the family service is just excellent. The number of rooms is small making it even more quieter space. No restaurant inhouse but the list of possible places to have dinner or lunch is very good. Very nice selection of sandwiches and salads available.
We went there 5 nights, taking it as a hub to visit nearby view points. Arriving, we where welcomed by the enthusiastic owner, giving us a full tour and the history of the Quinta. The rooms, all large in size, are well equipped and maintained. So is the garden, poolside and the Spa/fitness area. Special attention is given to the breakfast, all having your own hour, allowing for a unique fresh and warm table served meal. Overall, a welcome surprise!
Quinta Alves de Matos is a place with its own history, with a lot of points of interest, such as furniture with centuries, a working farm, home-made food (some made with fruits from the farm), great decoration, a modern spa and nice pool… The staff is always there to help us and give nice tips to enjoy our stay. Everybody is very pleasant. The farm Is near some nice beaches and monuments at the centre of Portugal.
We stayed one night during our roadtrip through Portugal and it was one of the best decisions on our trip!! The quinta is a beautiful hotel with superb service. We were welcomed by Ines who explained a lot about the history of the location and was super welcoming!!! We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building but also were able to look at the suites around the pool. Everything about the quinta is perfect. In the morning we were served a delicious breakfast with fresh pastries. We will definitely come back!!
Quiet and friendly. Very clean. Nice breakfast. Wonderful room, garden and swimming pool. Not far from important monuments (Alcobaça; Batalha). We spent 5 wonderful days at Quinta Alves de Matos! We will return in the future.
"Alecrim Room: With direct access to the Noble Hall, this room has a particular distribution of its space inside through the small room that makes the transition between the bedroom and en-suite bathroom, giving it a unique dimension."Read full review
"We were shown around all the rooms in the house itself and any of those, I can warmly recommend. We took the cheapest as we were alone there and only for one night."Read full review
