Detailed Reviews
Its a very lovely hotel. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Quite in the evenings. Friendly staff. Nice view, good pool area. Walking distance to beach.
We had a part sea view room on the 4th floor and was happy with the view, just above the palm trees outside so you could se a bit of the sea a bit in the far away, but for me I liked to watch the birds in the palms more.
Small shower in the bathtub, feels a bit old now not to have a walking shower.
Breakfast was good, the patio is big enough to get a good seat, plenty of items to choose from at the buffet. A bit disappointing with not table order for coffee at the breakfast, only option was from a machine.
No ice machine at the hotel, room service can bring you ice. Small fridge in the room.
Great service with the shuttle to beach, never had to wait. At the beach you can get towels for free but you have to pay €15 for two chairs and a umbrella. I think a nice touch would be to lower that a bit, it ends up to quite a bit when staying a few days. Didn't except to have pay for the hotels beach chairs at all.
We really liked the dinner at the hotel, if you can plan and pre-order do that, it was worth it. Lunch by the pool bar didn't keep the same standard so we got a bit disappointed by that.
The restaurants by the beach are open for lunch and dinner. We also walked
into the small commercial area, 3km away, one evening to eat dinner. There is a sidewalk for 1.5km and then the last 1.5km is walking by the road. Lots of cars and no street lights the last 1.5km.

This kind of opulence isn't our norm, but wow we were made to feel special. It's location amongst the villas of Europe's wealthy, gives access to their trendy bars and restaurants and a seemingly endless empty and unspoilt beach. The hotel was spotless, from the magnificence of their atrium to the refinement of their dining room and elegance of their pools. The food was proper special. Wifi everywhere and all the UK TV channels. And the staff spoilt us from beginning to end.

Stayed here for 10 nights. The very first night we were unable to sleep because of a very loud humming noise. When we reported it it was not taken seriously. We tracked down the noise ourselves. It was the fuse box on the wall. After asking a few times when it would be dealt with they eventually sent somebody just as we were going to get ready for dinner. At no time did the reception staff take us seriously. The room was at the front of the hotel with a side sea view but it was never pointed out in the brochure that it faced a busy road.
Breakfast was certainly not up to a 5 star hotel. Although there was a very wide choice all the hot food was cold unless you were lucky enough to see it being replenished. Coffee and tea was from a machine. Everything was self service.
The hotel run a shuttle service to the beach where there are several restaurants. It finishes at 7pm. One evening we booked dinner at the beach and asked the hotel for a taxi for 6.45. We didn’t know about the shuttle then and they never informed us about it when booking the taxi. The beach is 800 metres from the hotel and we were charged 12 euros (about £11) for that short distance. I can only assume the hotel get commission!
I know this is not the hotel’s fault but we were plagued by flies for the whole 10 days. The shop in the hotel closes at the end of September so no newspapers are available out of the so called season.
We shall definitely not be returning as we felt that unless you were very rich they were not interested in you.

We have enjoyed staying here every year sometimes twice a year for the past 18 years and it never fails to disappoint. The staff are simply superb, very welcoming, highly professional in every department. Breakfast is a feast of freshly prepared fruit, juices, bakery and full English, the Pool Bar offers an extensive choice and all cooked freshly. We enjoyed 2 very relaxing evenings in the restaurant for dinner and the food was truly exceptional. Room Service is equally as good both with the food and service.
We used the Laundry service quite a few times on this trip and it was excellent.
The pool and gardens are well maintained surrounded by Palm Trees and Birds of Paradise.
For us it’s like coming home! Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Ria Park Spa you make the hotel what it is.

+1
A beautiful hotel in modern Portuguese style (floor tiles and dark wood mixed with delightful modern blue and silver touches). The rooms and balconies are spacious, beds so comfortable. Bathrooms spacious and immaculate. The maid service is exceptional. Very pleasant reception staff. Useful beach shuttle. Stunning lounge and good bar. Large lovely pool surrounded by a very pretty garden where the swifts have a fine time every summers evening bringing a magical touch.. The restaurant was exceptional. To be honest we ate at various locations grabbing Ubers (as you have to) exploring food choices and since we concluded all “price lock” so there’s no real competition (expect to pay £30 pp wherever you go minimum) the hotel restaurant was comparable in price as a result - and superb. Excellent fish dishes. A truly accomplished chef. The desserts were next level. The restaurant service is silver service and is *absolutely superb*. Pretty veranda to watch the sunsets. They should do more to promote the restaurant. And could add a few inviting drinks evenings in the bars. We noticed mainly Portuguese families dining with us. Says a lot! It’s quiet because it’s Underrated in our opinion. However we were as happy here as any beach or local restaurant and rated the food more highly so tended to stay. Kids food catered. A final word about the breakfasts which are typical buffet style with a good hot food selection and as always a wonderful array of breads yoghurts fruits and juices. I can’t quite fathom some of the negative reviews. I guess they must prefer ubiquitous modern soulless styles. We’re thoroughly enjoying our stay. Only advice is to research the area beforehand make use of Ubers. And if you’re really keen on beach restaurants you’ll need to book WEEKs ahead of your stay. Top tip Bold Octopus is overrated. Unlucky if you’re new to the location you’ll struggle to catch on and book in time. The Brits book everything out.

I have just returned from the hotel 1 day ago.
Overall I really liked the hotel, but there were some things that really let it down for 5*.
The hotel is very clean and the maids always left the rooms so well and would never touch any of your things. Only issue with the room is, they could do with being updated and the air conditioning was poor.
Swimming pool was a good size with plenty of towels and clean. The pool bar and lobby bar was also good, the pool bar would have been much better if they had a few options of toasties etc without chips at a slightly lower price. Also I kept asking for crisps and they kept telling me everyday we are waiting. They never came!
The breakfast was ok, but for 5* it could have been a lot better, it was missing a fresh egg station and also a menu to order. It was very repetitive, one cake every day and most days it was the same.
STAFF
what let this hotel down the most was the staff, some of the staff were ok, whilst others were rude and every time you would ask I for something it seemed like a major problem. For 5* no matter what I ask for, should not be a problem.
Also the hotel has no option of adding a drinks package. There was also a shuttle service to bring you to beach each day, but I feel like this shuttle service should have brought you around anywhere in vale do lobo/ Quinta.
I would return to the hotel, but could be much better for 5*

We were bussed here on 9 February along with passengers from 3 flights delayed overnight by storm Ciara. Couldn't fault the friendly and helpful staff who had to accommodate and feed around 500 people at short notice. Accommodation was comfortable.

We stayed at this hotel for one night this week on our organized tour and would certainly return in our own time! Beautifully setting in a park like area with a large beach just down the hill. Beach loungers available there.
The building and rooms are gorgeous. The pool area is really nicely laid out with attentive pool caretakers. Seating in their restaurant is just above with an outdoor veranda seating area as well as inside. The food was outstanding! We really enjoyed our meal there last night.
Check this place out, Golfing available next door too!

We came with family and had a pretty mixed experience. Some thing befitted the 5* rating but a few things really disappointed us.
Starting with the positive: The service and staff were really good. They were as helpful as they could be and the rooms were probably over serviced.
The main pool area was really good, a good size pool and you could always get a sun bed.
The free shuttle to beach and local restaurants is good and always available during operation hours within a few mins.
The negatives:
Our biggest issue was the kids club, this was in the gardens on the sister hotel, approx 5 minutes mute walk away. This was one of our main reasons for booking. We took our kids the first day, it was advertised mini table tennis, mini football and other activities. When we turned up the kids staff couldn’t have been less interested. They were playing on their phones. Sat kids in front of tv and gave them colouring in. There were no other kids there and I’m not surprised. Needless to say our kids didn’t want to go back, a real disappointment.
The main pool had quite a few tiles that had come away and had some black mould/staining on the water line. Nothing major and didn’t stop our enjoyment but not what I’d expect from 5 star.
The room was also pretty dated and basic. No kitchenette and only a small fridge which for self catering was disappointing.

Went for long weekend and really enjoyed this hotel. Had good nights sleep every night as the hotel seemed well sound proofed. The lobby bar was relaxed and the staff all professional but lovely. Breakfast was very nice. And the pool area was lovely and peaceful would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn’t want boom boom boom all the time. Near to Julia’s Maria’s bamboo restaurants and cheeky pup all cheap to get to and 10 mins from vilamoura in an Uber so good location for whatever you fancy

The Ria Park has quite a conservative air about it, in a pleasant way. I think smart casual would be perfectly OK for the Restaurant in the evening. Long trousers for gentlemen with a smart shirt, short or long sleeved.
Dear Kevin,
Thank you very much for your interest in our property.
Our hotel enjoys a premium location in a very tranquil natural area, however there are plenty of restaurants and bars within easy reach, ranging from beach shaks to Michelin starred, some at walking distance, other 2 or 5 minutes drive apart, but all well worthing a visit.
Regarding the walking distance ones, just 700m from the hotel, at the Garrão Beach, you will find Eduardo´s, Julias, Izzy´s and Fin's, all seafront Restaurants/ Beach Bars where you can taste the best of Algarvian cuisine, including fresh fish and seafood or enjoy a cocktail listening to live music. Maria's, which is also very popular, is also at a mere 1.2 km, and you can also find Xenia Restaurant within 200m. Our restaurant in the hotel is also a very good option to consider.
Regardless of being at a walking distance, it is also very important to mention that we offer a free private shuttle to take our Guests to the Garrão Beach, where we have a private beach area, so this may also be an option to take you there.
The nearby Tennis academy, in Vale do Lobo, is just 1km from the hotel, about 10 to 15 minutes walking, which can be a great warm up. Nevertheless, depending on the time of year and availability, our free shuttle may be of assistance or you can also play tennis in our resort where we have 2 tennis courts - exclusive for our guests. Upon request, we can organise tennis classes for all levels with a professional tennis instructor. Racquets and balls are also available for hire.
If you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Looking forward to welcome you soon!
Best regards
Towels are provided but unfortunately you do have to pay for beds at the beach
