It is a classic motel. Perfect location for college tour at Williams; clean but old; very friendly staff; easy booking. The blinds are a little flimsy and do not keep out the very bright lights outside the door, so bring your eye covers for sleep!

The room was basic but clean and the office staff were pleasant and helpful. The desk said that they offer a continental breakfast, which they no longer do (at least not at this time of year). If you are longer for a night’s sleep and don’t want to pay a lot, the Northside is perfect.

The carpet was torn and looked like it had never been vacuumed before. There were hairs in the bathtub. Not all the outlets in the room worked. Smelled awful. Not worth the price. Great location though.

The pool was closed, the shower drain was very slow, and the continental breakfast was laughable. On the bright side, the A/C was ice cold, the bed was comfortable and it was in a quiet and beautiful part of town.

The room had a horrible smell to it. There were sections of the carpet that were cut and then repaired, and the carpet was extremely old an worn. The bathroom was so small it was even difficult to sit on the toilet???? This was one of the worst motels I have ever stayed in....never again

Wow, as if you are in a time capsule. Nothing has been updated in the rooms except for the air conditioner. The carpet, beddings, furniture and the entire bathroom hasn't changed since the motel probably opened in the late 50's or 60's. The stench of the room is likely due to the oldness of the room and its interior. But also likely because the bathtub is retaining water between the two fiberglass membranes. I mentioned the BATHTUB because if you don't know how to surf, you will certainly learn in these miniature bathtubs that absolutely need replacement. The mini fiberglass tub is so old that the two layer membrane has separated and water is retained between the layers. This causes an air/water bubble that is an extreme HAZARD and a potential lawsuit waiting to happen. As I mentioned, you will learn to surf and get your balance in the bathtub. Lastly, the king sized bed was extremely old and worn out. There was no give/padding and felt like you are sleeping on a concrete floor. If you are a side sleeper, good luck with your shoulders. I can understand why they place a full fitted plastic sheet underneath the sheets but that is extremely uncomfortable, hot and you hear it all might as you toss and turn due to the extremely uncomfortable mattress and stench of the room. I didn't mention the pool. It's August and the pool was closed. And likely never opened. Truly DISAPPOINTING

The room was ok but did not match the website. The pool was locked and never open. I was disappointed and felt lied to. Their "breakfast" wasn't one like the way it is pictured in the website it was offee and a package of bite size muffins. there were two large containers of poland spring water for a bubbler but they were both empty and when I asked a but it never got a response.

The staff was very nice and the price was reasonable but the reason we booked this place was because of the outdoor pool. When we got there it was closed off and dirty had to pay an additional 35 to take the kids to a local community pool. The room was in bad shape as well it was a third floor walk up and a number of things were held together with tape. Probably wouldn’t go back and don’t recommend

Check in was easy and hosts were extremely pleasant. The room was spacious and smelled clean. Very inexpensive. The place is severely dated, however. The rug in the room had some unpleasant stains - I placed a facecloth over one so I wouldn’t have to sep on it ( it was old but clearly something stuck on the rug right next to the bed). Also the plastic mattress pad under the sheet made me sweat like crazy.

The Northside's location is Ideal: just off the William's College campus, a short drive to The Clark Art Institute (A MUST SEE!), and an easy drive to Tanglewood in Lexox. Try the Water Street Grill, The Purple Pub and the 1896 House for good food choices.
