Great location, really pleasant and clean rooms, but the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. The common areas are great for hanging with friends both over breakfast and late-night fun! Super close to Harvard Square and great restaurants and shopping.
The Cambria Boston Somerville has everything you need while traveling: new cozy beds, spacious rooms, great work area in the rooms, and a welcoming and comfy lounge to work or just sit in front of the fireplace. They offer a small market featuring a wide variety of local beverages and snacks open 24/7. This hotel also has a state of the art fitness center with plenty of free weights, and cardo equipment. It also has a game room that has a pool table, foosball. Aerosmith pinball and my personal favorite Golden Tee 2022! Staff are top notch with welcoming smiles and attentive to all your needs. It also looks like they have a restaurant being constructed on site, this will be a great added bonus when I come back. Great place to stay while in the Somerville/Cambridge area.
We had a wonderful stay at the Cambria Boston Somerville! It was modern and clean and the rooms were spacious and well designed with fun modern decor! The bathroom was big and I loved having a refrigerator and seating area in the room. Not only were the rooms great, but the lobby area was so warm and welcoming. We were there for a family event and the lobby was a cozy welcoming gathering spot. The game room was so much fun for adults and kids and the gym was spacious with a great equipment. The staff was also so helpful and calm through the chaos of a big family event! I highly recommend this hotel.
What a fabulous hotel! I stayed for the weekend with many family members and friends and we couldn’t be happier with our stay. From the clean rooms, comfortable beds, unique amenities like the smart mirror in the bathroom, the amazing staff, lovely breakfast spread and ample comfortable space in the lobby to hang out—I highly recommend this hotel for your next visit to the Boston area. The lobby area was terrific-electric fireplaces made it warm and cozy, and the staff was great about allowing us to bring in food and drinks. The kids loved the game room and the workout room is very spacious. I am looking forward to returning and the addition of a restaurant will make it even better.
Spent a great weekend at the Cambria Somerville. The staff from the front desk to the valet was beyond helpful and friendly. The decor of the lobby and the rooms has a cool vibe. Stayed in a room with two friends and there was more than enough room and super comfortable. The only suggestion I would make is to have better lighting in the bathroom! Otherwise, we loved our stay. We were part of a big group and the hotel lobby is set up so that you can easily hang out, morning and late at night. The restaurant isn't opened yet and the hotel was happy for us to bring in dinner and wine! The hotel is centrally located--easy to get to Harvard Square and Boston, but you definitely need a car. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Wow - what a great experience! We stayed at the Cambria with friends and family, in town to celebrate a Bar Mitzvah. It was centrally located between the temple and party venue, and truly the perfect place for a bunch of people to congregate. The hotel itself is really cool with hip decor and large rooms with all the amenities (loved having a hand steamer instead of an iron!) But the best part is all the different spaces to hang out with friends - in the lobby, foyer, around the fireplace, and the game room. We had kids in our group and they loved playing pool and using the gym. We actually had our "after party" in the game room which was really fun. All the staff was great and super accommodating. I will definitely be back!!! (And looking forward to the opening of the restaurant next time!) This is a perfect place to gather with friends and family!…
I stayed at this hotel for an event. Rooms were nice, it was clean and it turned out to be a great stay. The location was far better than I had anticipated as it was convenient to our event in Belmont and evening event in Kenmore Square.
The room is very nice and comfortable- the only problem- not enough light- there is not enough light in bathroom to shave properly and there is no light over work desk so impossible to use in evening. The hotel is new and some features still being developed such as the restaurant. Giving free drinks in evening and coffee in morning is nice feature.
The Cambria has strong positives but unfortunately for this reviewer, also strong negatives. First the positives: amazing staff…I don’t think I’ve ever met a nicer, more positive group of employees than those at the Cambria. Mostly young, smart, kind young people, going to school at night, etc. the hotel is new, super clean and in a great location for proximity to Harvard, Tufts and other colleges. The rooms are spacious and clean. The gym was great with lots of space, and enough machines and weights for a good workout. However, the downsides are the following: expensive parking as there is little to no street parking; no real breakfast —just an expensive, inadequate continental breakfast. No decaf coffee set out in the lobby. No microwaves in the room…a huge negative as we needed to heat up leftover restaurant food. You can rent a microwave for $35 which is insane. What hotel rooms don’t have microwaves anymore? I hate pod coffee and the in room service had a coffee brand that is very weak and tasteless. The bathroom does not have a fan, and the “open” concept door is not conducive to privacy. Our door had trouble latching and staying shut. I think we will look for a different hotel next time, unfortunately. The staff is the biggest asset of this hotel.…
NEVER GO TO THIS HOTEL! The worst experience possible. During, my stay in Sommerville, they continue to charge me a parking lot. But I arrived on a plane, and I had no car during my stay there. Every time that they charged me, I went to the receptionist and I signaled the problem. Every time they ensured me that they have solved the problem. Every time they lied to me, since after a while the problem came back. At the end of this absurd process, three days after my check-out, they again charged me 120 USD for the parking lot!!! I called to explain the problem, but an incompetent man continued to say that this was impossible, even if I had all the bank documentation just in front of my eyes. Yes, they made the impossible, possible. They have to be proud of it. I'm still fighting to have my money back.…
