We are staying right now in this Econo Lodge from November 25th to 27th, room 140. When we did the check in, my son opened the sofa bed just to find some REALLY dirty sheets. Looked they had been used and not changed. Because we were too tired, we didn’t ask front desk to change. We were out all day and we came in late. While I was preparing to sleep I saw movement behind the fridge. I used my phone’s light to check what was it and I saw a mouse in the gap between the fridge and the wall. Immediately reported to Front Desk and the guy at first asked me very skeptically about the mouse, then he proceeded to give me a sarcastic look, as if I were making up the story. I invited him to take a look and he was able to take a picture of the mouse!!!!! It was only until he saw it that he prepared a new room (126). He showed me the room, smelled to humidity and what I smelled like Marijuana… we are too tired to do anything else. But hey, we’ll sleep in our clothes, wrap up VERY early in the morning and leave this hotel to NEVER come again!! Econo Lodge: you have lost a guest…
i should’ve read the reviews before coming to this “hotel”. first of all, the hotel smelled like smoke. VERY strong cigarette smoke. second, it was so hot in there. the AC works but when you step outside of the building the AC is pouring out all of the humid air in to your face. the manager was nice, he just rudely went inside of our room after we asked him to step out since he had no right to be in there. the hotel itself is very run down and the bedsheets had HAIRS in the sheets. all belonging to different people since there was blonde, black and brunette hairs. I don’t recommend this place. period.
Showed clerk 37 bed bug bites on my face arms and legs. No response from Mr Patel, supposed owner. No continental breakfast-u wouldn't want it anyway. Bedbugs....nothing more! April 27-30, 2022! Never again
Very nice inside & outside pretty clean too you'd never know it was the same place driving by unless you grew up in Malden like me. Spent most of time at Encore so I forgot to ask date of remodel & where's the pool located? There was never room for a pool!
The people are rude, the place is dirty and the price was high.... Am I missing anything ? Oh yea the sign on the reception says " if you have more people than you indicate we will not allow you to stay here again" Among other things.. The Wi-fi did not work
Recently updated rooms offer great value for the Boston area. Very helpful and friendly staff made check in easy. Breakfast is very basic but was enough to get us started on our day. Short drive to the train to Boston or a cheap Uber ride
The hotel should be closed down while in renovation.I was litterally walking over construction materials on my way up to my room. I just can not believe the hotel was allowed to operate in these conditions. The room was surprisingly clean, in contrast to the whole exterior of the hotel. The free breakfast was a continental breakfast of bagels, english muffins, orange juice and coffee. The price should be $60 a night, not $100 or anything close to that.
50 dollar room...poor remodel...poor bfast....not even editable....cheap east Indian hotel smells like cig smoke...no elevator multi steps poor stairs really a hooker hotel at best...the staff messed up my choice privileges number
Starting with the price, 182,50 with taxes for a non-smoking room, stinking cigarette! The arrival was sad, the day shift receptionist never acknowledged me and my wife upon arrival, he actually did not say a word...We waited by the window until he turned to us and I had to tell him I had a reservation. He still did not greet us, just said, give me licence and credit card, voila, he then proceed and gave us a key to a non-smoking room 102. Upon entering the room, momentarily we smelled heavy cigarette odor...the hotel was full and room could not be changed, so we stayed. I went to the restroom, soap were both opened and inside the bathtub, one towel was on the floor used, the door was broken, the walls, carpet, everything VERY DIRTY, the television OPERATES ON ANALOG, you can hardly see the image. I felt so bad, as I am used to pay around 149 USD for nice hotel rooms. This place is really a terrible reputation for ECONO LODGE, I will never stay on a Econo Lodge again, regardless of reviews... DO NOT GO THERE, you better of stay away and find something else out of town.…
We stayed at the Econo Lodge in Malden for one night, which was one night too many. The pictures they show on their website are deceiving. Our room was a double bed, but didn’t have a desk, nor was it as spacious as it appears in the photos. The motel had the impression they rented rooms by the hour, if you know what I mean. There were sketchy individuals lingering around the front of the building when we arrived. This location is in desperate need of an overhaul and an upgrade to the lobby, the façade and the cliental. Even though there were handicapped designated parking, there was no ramp to access the lobby or the rooms. The daytime staff person was very friendly when we checked in and she was very helpful with giving directions. Our room was situated in the back of the hotel and there was a high fence surrounding the back area protecting it from the street that ran behind the hotel. The door to our room was difficult to open and didn’t seem very secure; we actually placed a chair against the door while we were inside. The room itself was clean and basic as I mentioned, not very big, but the bed very comfortable. There was a keypad safe in one corner of the room and there was a refrigerator, but it didn’t work. Unfortunately, around 3am our upstairs neighbor decided to make quite a racket; and it sounded as if she was moving furniture back and forth across the room. Between that and her screaming in her room and then out on the balcony, we didn’t get much sleep after that. When we checked out, we requested to pay with a different credit card, but the desk clerk advised us the payment was submitted the night before so we couldn’t change it. The free breakfast was more of a continental breakfast and the coffee was made in one of those machines that you put your cup under and press the button. Overall this Econo Lodge location seemed more like a transient motel instead of what they're trying to portray in their advertisements. I guess nowadays you can’t ask for much when you’re paying about $150 a night. My suggestion?... pay the extra and stay in a better location and hotel.…
