Winnetu is a beautiful resort where my family has stayed for years. As a child, my parents took me. Now I take my own kids. The facilities are great, and the location is gorgeous. A major draw for me has been the camp for kids who are guests of the resort. However, in recent years, the counselors they hire who care for the children have become increasingly irresponsible. They show up to work hung over and talk about things like sex and partying in front of the kids. Some of this I know through a personal mutual connection, but some is because my kids have told me directly. When I approached management over this, the main contact was extremely kind. She also said when counselors show up hungover, they are asked to leave for the day. However, I don't feel this is enough. I also feel badly myself that I have not reported this sooner, so I consider reviewing this property part of my atonement. Please think twice about using the camp, especially if your children are on the young side and won't be able to report back to you on their sense of well-being there, as my kids, who are now older, have. On the other hand, if you don't have children or do but don't plan on sending them to the camp, you will have a lovely stay at this property.…
We stayed at this resort for 4 nights. Check in was a breeze and very pleasant. Suite was really great. Very comfortable bed. Adequate mini kitchen. Bath and a half was a real plus. NIve LR with big screen TV. Books available to read. Nice view of the large back yard and could see the ocean. Looked like lots to do if you're there in the summer. Nice pool and hot tub. Tennis courts, etc. Continental breakfast was first class. Unfortunately nothing hot. You could get an egg sandwhich for $9. Evening dining was pleasant with goof food, but limited menu. Best of all was you pay for 3 nites and got 4th nite free!!!!!!
Everything was beautiful. The staff helpful and friendly. Good parking. I saw 2 deer first thing in the morning in the field out my sliding doors. Stunning! The only thing I would change are the lights. They are all cool bulbs and too bright. Warm up those lights in the room. We will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed ourselves at the Winnetu on our recent fall weekend getaway! Located on the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard it was nice and quiet down at South Beach. The whole island has a chill vibe this time of year which we love! We had fun and loved making our own waffles in the morning at the breakfast buffet which is included with the room. We stayed in a West Chop suite which was newly remodeled and fabulous, very comfortable. S’mores on Saturday night! The jacuzzi and heated pool were still open! Christina and Andi at the front desk were very accommodating. Ambar was so friendly and helpful. Lizzie and Tim really helped make our weekend stay at Winnetu simply amazing! We can’t wait to bring our expected baby boy with us next year!
The Winnetu Oceanside Resort was perfect for my 60th birthday girls’ weekend with my 4 sisters, sister-in-law, and 2 nieces! We had the Cape Pogue cottage and my nieces shared a suite nearby. We loved the hot tub and roof top deck at the cottage. The grounds are lovely and the property has a walking path to South Beach. Great staff who was very friendly and accommodating, shuttle service to Edgartown center, and lawn games to fill your time. The cottage itself was well appointed, clean, and though smallish was adequate for the 6 adults who shared it. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend Winnetu for your special occasions!
