I have stayed here a bunch of times over the last few years, and I was happy to pay for a more expensive hotel for the comfort and convenience. However, some things have recently changed. They used to let you check in early if they had a room available. The last time I arrived early, I was told they wouldn't let me check in before check-in time (which they also moved from 3:00 to 4:00) without paying an hourly charge. It just left me with a bad feeling. 4 pm is very late to be getting settled, especially if you have kids with you. People who are traveling sometimes arrive tired, and aren't able to control exactly when they arrive. I know it was never a guaranteed thing, but if my room is ready, and you're just withholding it in the hopes of getting more money out of me, then that's just crappy customer service. That sort of thing really detracts from the experience. They did add free WiFi (used to charge), but really at this point free WiFi is standard; it should have been free anyway. Overall, I was just left with the feeling that they were trying to take advantage of me.

Max, we regret hearing about the inconvenience you faced regarding the check-in process. Our intent is never to hold back ready rooms for additional charges. A change in our check-in policy was made to ensure room availability and readiness for all guests. We can understand, however, how this change may have resulted in some guests feeling unwelcome. As for the WiFi, we are glad to now offer this complimentary feature as we strive to keep up with standard hotel amenities. Please know we value your loyalty and your feedback is greatly appreciated. We hope to rekindle your trust in us during your future visits.

I have always been a fan of Doubletree hotels and spent a lot of time in the excellent one in Waltham. This Danvers location has a Water Park and there were a lot of families with children. The King room was comfortable and clean with an easy to navigate television. My one so-so was that the front desk seemed understaffed. Also, for the second time on 50 years, I did not get the wake up call I left with the front desk the night before. The good news is I had left plenty of time and wasn’t late for a family funeral I was attending. I would stay here again as I liked the location and the staff was friendly.

We arrived on Thanksgiving and were welcomed really well. There were 4 people working at the reception and personally, I might not have been in the best mood to work on a holiday but they were fantastic. I also really want to compliment Mirsada who worked in the restaurant who helped our day start with the biggest possible smile on our face.

Attended a conference at this hotel for three nights and four days. Room was clean, cleaning staff was friendly - issue with the toilet was never addressed (just constantly ran and was pulled out from the wall). Fitness center was very nice and well maintained. Room walls are thin, can hear neighbors easily. Pillows are not that comfortable. Overall very nice hotel, excellent food.

For a hotel as expensive as this is I would expect more. My mother (who is disabled), my 3 kids and I stayed there this past weekend and had several issues. First parking is a big issue, there are probably 20 -25 spots out front and only 2 are handicapped, the rest are for Honors Rewards members there are plenty of spots in the other lots on the sides of the building but there is only one door at the entrance making it difficult for handicapped access. The room we were given was down in an area that was like a basement, and it was a long walk down to the room. We had requested a roll away bed which was not in the room when we arrived, so we called up to have one brought down. When it came to us the man just dropped it off in the doorway and left, which would not have been a big deal if it weren't a huge full length steal framed bed! I had to put the bed in place which was very difficult with how heavy it was and where I had to place it in the room. After struggling for 20 minutes with the bed we had to call up to the front desk for assistance. Later 2 of my kids went to the lobby to ask a question and on their way back saw a mouse in the hall, about 30 minutes later it was in our room. We went to request a new room and apparently the only room they had available was on the 2nd floor - which had no elevator...major problem for my mom but we managed. The front desk was very helpful and assisted us in taking our luggage up. The other problem we had was the room that was adjoined to the room we were in had people who were heavily smoking and it was not just cigarettes. The room itself was dirty, carpets were stained, coffee maker didn't work, toilet wouldn't stop running for about an hour (I had to fix the handle), walls needed to be cleaned, hallways had cobwebs and mouse poop (which we didn't notice til after our small visitor) in the corners. We didn't receive any maid service our first full day...however when we did get service, they made my kids beds up in a very cute way (they but one of their throw blankets in the shape of a bow at the end of the bed and tucked my other daughters stuffed animal in the bed). The ONLY good thing about this hotel was the staff. They were incredibly helpful but with that being said I will never stay in a Doubletree again.

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. I deeply regret that your stay was full of so many challenges. We will address with the housekeeping staff the rollaway bed protocol and also the hallway condition of the floors. I did want to share with you that the Hotel has three separate entrances all with some accessible parking spots in their vicinity, But adding more spots to the front lot is definitely something we could look into.

Very expensive, $700 for one night, especially for what it was. The room was very spacious but really unimpressive otherwise. Couch bed cushions were so stained and funky, no pillows, thin blanket. Walls and ceilings had deep cracks throughout. Carpets were stained and worn. No waters in the room for the coffee machine. I honestly was was excited to check out. Biggest issue was just how dirty it was/is.

Meredith, we regret that your stay didn't match your expectations. It's disheartening to hear that the condition of the room, including the furniture and the cleanliness overall, fell short. We aim to provide a comfortable environment for all our guests and we sincerely apologize for any discomfort you experienced. The lack of amenities such as water for the coffee machine is duly noted and is not typical of our usual service. Your feedback is very valuable and we'll certainly take steps for improvement.

The room itself was nice and large and I slept well. The reason I am rating a 3 is the lack of communication by the front desk. The pool was broken but rather than letting me know that on the evening of my stay, the receptionist just said it was closed. I walked down to take a look at the pool which was quite a walk away and the man at the fitness desk informed me the pump was broken but I was welcome to use the jacuzzi. He said that they hoped the pool would be fixed in the morning. When I called the front desk to check on the pool the next day, no one picked up the phone despite my calling several times. When I asked about it at check out the receptionist said that they had been very busy which is why they hadn't answered the phone, and the pool was closed but gave no details. I found checkout was a disappointing experience. As a guest who reserved my room through expedia, I felt like I was treated completely differently from the 3 couples checking out before me who I presume had booked directly through Hilton. The receptionist was very friendly with them, spending a lot of time with them and printing out receipts. With one family she gave a child bunches of cookies and laughed to the Dad at how many times he had called the front desk that morning. At my checkout she did not offer to print my receipt, and I had to go back and ask for it to be printed. She told me you had to ask for a receipt although while waiting in line this was something she offered directly to the guests in front of me. I think that the staff need more training and they should treat all guests equally no matter how they have made their booking.
