My experience at Hyatt Place Kent Narrows was exceptional. The property is pristine and has the feel of a boutique hotel rather than a corporate chain. The waterfront location offers beautiful, relaxing views that can be enjoyed from the lobby, breakfast room, and expansive outdoor deck.
All employees were well-trained and friendly. Dining was substantially better than what's generally offered by the brand. Most Hyatt Place hotels do not have a dedicated kitchen staff. Available employees assemble and nuke pre-prepared menu items that are the same across the chain (similar to Courtyard by Marriott).
This location has a real kitchen and dedicated chef, so the menu and food quality exceed the glorified fast food of a typical Hyatt Place. You'll find crab and shrimp dishes as well as burger, salad, and chicken offerings. While breakfast was similar to other Hyatt Places, most items seemed fresher and better prepared. My only criticism would be about the French Toast sticks, which had turned tough and stale from sitting in the pan too long.
We were in town for just one night but would have been happy to stay longer. Hyatt Place Kent Narrows sets a high bar for the brand.

Found the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. i am always looking for a pet friendly and indoor pool in any place we go nowadays. I use the indoor pool to continue my aquatic therapy I take almost daily at my gym. Plus I love to be able to take my 10 lb pomerarin with us. He'd rather be with us than stay anywhere else. This was the third time we took him away with us on a short stay. The room was great - space for your suitcases, a handicap accessible shower and bathroom, a nice kitchen area with microwave, fridge, dishwasher, utensils, plates, glasses and cups. We could watch the sunset right from our balcony and sitting at the kitchen table in our room. The room was great, nice comfy couch, king size bed, and kitchen table. The area is fabulous with 3 year round restaurants within walking distance plus more in the summer. The gym had plenty of equipment, 4 treadmills, 2 rowers, 2 ellipticals, 2 bikes and lots of other weight training equipment. I did not visit the breakfast, only my husband did. So he found it plentiful and tasty. Coffee and Tea was available at no charge 24/7. There was a bar in the lobby that was open til 11 pm on the weekend. Plenty of space to sit and relax in the lobby too. We were very happy here and will be going again. Lovely area right next to the water.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend. Everyone (front desk, bar staff and the maintenance crew) was incredibly polite and professional. The view from our hotel room was a water view and we felt it was worth the additional expense. The hotel is situated between some nice restaurants -- We ate at the Narrows Restaurant the first night, and loved everything we ate. I would definitely return to this restaurant for dinner. My only complaint is related to the sheets. They are scratchy and uncomfortable. They probably need to invest in some fabric softener or a higher thread count. The hotel is located right next to a crab restaurant which is no fault of anyones but that was an interesting greeting at 3pm on a 90+ degree day. When I checked in the staff was very nice but when I got to my room, my room was not clean. There were hairs from the previous guests in the bathroom in multiple places and the floors did not appear to have been cleaned. I had to rush out to get to work and when I returned I talked with a very nice man at the front desk and he told me he would move my room but the same type of room I had initially booked was not available so I was moved into a room without a balcony which was a little disappointing as that is part of why I picked the hotel. Housekeeping was nice but they did not appear to do anything when they came to my room so I am not sure if the daily housekeeping doesn't entail as much as it used to or what happened. I probably would not return but I stayed the duration of my trip. The parking situation is kind of sketchy. there are a VERY limited amount of parking spots on hotel property and the others are at the crab place and a parking long across the street. It made me uneasy walking from the parking lot late at night alone. The lot was lit but also partially secluded and you could hear the highway above it. The front door of the hotel doesnt look out onto the extra parking lot which also made it a little uncomfortable being out alone.

Hence we are modestly elated that our front desk team was able to meet that standard. However, we sincerely regret that the cleanliness of your initial room did not meet your expectations. We uphold high maintenance and hygiene standards across all our rooms and it's regrettable that we did not provide satisfactorily in your experience. Upon your request to switch rooms, it's disheartening that we weren't able to provide the same type of room you initially booked. We understand that features like a balcony can significantly enhance your stay, and it must have been disappointing not to have that. The daily housekeeping duties typically extend to a range of cleaning activities to maintain a hospitable environment. However, it seems from your comments, that the level of servicing your room received fell short of that standard. We assure you that this is not typical and we will be conducting a review of our daily housekeeping processes to prevent any such incidents in the future. We also understand your concerns about the parking arrangements. While we recognize that the lighting in our parking lot offers some security, it's vital to us that all our guests feel safe and comfortable, and being alone in a partially secluded lot at late hours is not conducive to that. The team at Kent Island was amazing. The room was prepared ahead of arrival time and early check-in was available without extra hassle. The breakfast was superb and we loved every bite. Overall condition and hospitality was world-class.

Location: The hotel is located on Kent Island a little closer to the Bridge than to the eastern part of it. It's near the Hilton Garden Inn and a half dozen or so seafood restaurants and marinas. If you go a couple miles east you'll find a bunch of fast food restaurants and gas stations and some shopping centers with more restaurants.
Hotel: The hotel is one of the nicest Hyatt Places I've been to and certainly the nicest non urban location I've been to. Its parking lot is a little small but close by is a second lot shared with a marina. Inside is a large full service bar, small fitness center, small indoor pool and the breakfast dining area. There are only two elevators but I didn't deal with any waits. All the common areas, lobby, hallways etc. look great and are well designed and well lit.
Check In: I had been pre-upgraded to a balcony waterview room which was great. The front desk staff were very friendly and got me on my way quickly.
Room: Not surprisingly nice along with the rest of the hotel. It was huge with a sitting area, good sized bathroom and a nice balcony with a view of the water (which beats the other side where you view US 50). There were no issues with soundproofing or Wifi or power or the water pressure.Â
Breakfast: Above average like everything else. Scrambled eggs (with Old Bay on every table for seasoning!), hash browns, sausage links and waffles plus the usual cold items.

This property is located in Kent Island it's in a pretty good location. The hotel was very clean we had a spacious suite with a waterfront view, the staff was very helpful and accommodating. At this location there were several nice restaurants that were in walking distances and shopping outlets approximately 15 minutes driving distance.

Great stay for a random getaway a week before my birthday. Upgraded as a globalist to a large room, staff had a pack and play set up in the room prior to arrival. Beautiful location next to the marina, so breakfast by the water or drinks during the afternoon was idyllic.
Many restaurants nearby, but a crab dish is approx $45 for 2 crabs. Hunters seafood market about 5 min away seasons and steams crabs for you- $40/dozen crabs. They actually gave us 15? Highly recommend if you don't mind no frills eating. After you eat go enjoy the view back at the hyatt.

Room was very plain, and not nicely decorated. Beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. Staff was fine, but requests to housecleaning were a chore in and of itself. We needed the bed changed and asked multiple times and actually had to remove the sheets ourselves for them to respond to the several requests. Very few options for food and sundries, 5 or 6 types of bottled drinks and candy bars/chips. Decent breakfast buffet. Nice water view from room, but we were supposed to have a balcony and...nope, just a rail. Definitely not worth anywhere close to the $650 per night we paid.
