My mom & I took a long weekend to kick of the new year & get some sun! Enjoyed our stay at the Cataloni Playa Maroma - - very friendly staff, a lot of food options, clean rooms/amenities, and a beautiful location to be for 5days. We upgraded to the privileged, which got us a room closer to the pool, a special location on the beach and discounts in the spa/boutique. If these things are important to you, then I would recommend! There is a lot going on during the day at the pool in regards to games/music/fitness classes. The only downside to this is the staff is on the loud microphone the entire day basically, so if you are looking to get more peace head down to the beach.
Stayed here for 14 nights. Resort is clean, food is very good, beach and pool are warm and clean. Rooms cleaned every day, nothing to complain about. Liked all the restaurants very much, Italian, Steakhouse, Mexican, Japanese, Tapas and the best for us was the BLoved. Between the buffet en the beach you walk through a very nice garden with a real jungle feel to it, with different animals like Coati, Squirrels, Monkeys, Blue Crabs, Iguana's and Agutti's. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The animation team keeps you busy all day near the pool. The beach is cleaned every day at 6:30 am and you never need to lay your towel first, there are more than enough sunbeds for everyone. The nearest town is Playa del Carmen, a taxi will cost you 400 pesos. I would recommend this resort.…
This was my second visit to this resort. My first one was about 5 years ago and I had pretty good experience back than. This time around however it wasn't all that great. Food is blend, you get literally hunted by their people trying to get you to sign up.for their "privilege" club and rooms have all kinds of insects crawling and flying around. Prices for anything is outrageous
My daughter and I love this hotel. We have been coming here since 2012. It has a fantastic beach however they destroyed it by burying the seaweed into the soft sand every year. I visited this year , in January and the buried seaweed looked like seaweed formed mountains. If they care about the environment, the fantastic beach they had , they should remove those mountains of seaweed. I’m posting a picture of it.
We will be at your resort on January 26 to February 8. 2 weeks!!! We have never been before but we have been to Catalonia Yucatan Beach Resort. We loved it but found it a bit far so we found Catalonia Playa Maroma which is closer to center town. We hope to love it as much as as we did the Yucatan one. The only question I have is how to contact you as I would like a room at the lower level as my husband has problems with his knees and has a hard time with stairs. We booked online and can't find a way to contact. No phone as it's long distance. Thank You
