As Hampton’s are pretty much standard in quality we usually stay at them when traveling. Although the room was nice it was so loud my wife couldn’t sleep. After blaming the noise on the elevator and water softener they did give my wife a discount on the room as after all she didn’t get any sleep. Good thing my wife complained as they had also charged us 50.00 for our dog which is a service dog and charges aren’t allowed. Heather the night clerk although screwing up on the dog issue couldn’t have been more helpful that night. Kudos to her. The breakfast bar was the usual and not that interesting. I normally only eat cereal but their selection wasn’t appetizing. The coffee wasn’t hot at all but since they had a microwave I made do. Parking was ample as well. The restaurants near by are expensive imo for what you get. The build back better program you Dems voted for has failed miserably . When my wife complained about the noise they told her they normally don’t put people in the room we were in which is stupid as they had other rooms available per the clerk.…
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They knew the restaurants in the area and made several recommendations that we were able to select one that filled our needs. The room was clean and well appointed.
Multiple reasons. Check in and out were a breeze. Our room was very comfortable. It was too cool for us when we moved in, but we turned up the thermostat and soon had a warmer temperature set to our satisfaction. We appreciated having coffee available, even into the evening. Our two breakfasts were delicious, wonderful and tasty variety. And all the staff members we had contact with were most friendly and helpful. If we are ever in need of accommodations in your part of Iowa, we will remember our wonderful stay. Thank you.
The motel is in good shape and our room appears to have recently been redone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is good-near restaurants, a shopping mall and I-35. We would stay here again.
Great experience with the front desk rep (Ashley) . Friendly and supremely helpful with a shipment of boxes I had delivered. An asset to Hilton!!!! If I come back to Des Moines, I’ll definitely stay here.
We reserved about an hour before arrival and when we got to the room late at night and there was bags of trash all down the hall. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were woken up by the housekeeping cleaning the room next door, vacuuming and banging at 6 am. The breakfast was great with a large variety of items and staff cleaning the area.
It is rare these days but everything was good at this hotel. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The room and the hotel were clean and nice. There was a great breakfast and to top it off the price for our stay was really reasonable and way lower than other places we stopped on our trip across the country.
So, the context for this review is that we were traveling from Mississippi to the College World Series in Omaha. EVERYTHING around Omaha was booked, so our stays getting up there and while we were there were pretty awful: a Holiday Inn with no breakfast and a weak A/C in June, a roach motel in the middle of nowhere. So when we left Omaha exhausted (and victorious #hottytoddy), I found this hotel about 2.5 hours away from Omaha where we could rest before the last 11 hour leg of the trip. And it checked all the boxes. It was super clean and comfortable. They had plenty of towels and rags, and extra pillows on the bed (slept better than I have in 3 days on the road). Free DELICIOUS hot breakfast the next morning with waffles, sausage, Western omelets, and many cold choices too. The staff was helpful and polite, and left little ‘happy’ bags in the lobby for guests to pick up (free water and snacks). Zero complaints. None. To top it off, it was the cheapest rate I had paid compared to every other sad excuse for a hotel we had stayed at. Stay here. Trust me.…
The crew at The Hampton Inn works very hard for the hotel to look and function this well. From Terri and Heidi at the front desk, April in management or Lilia in hospitality; everyone is amazing and I’m happy I landed here with the family I did here at the West Des Moines, Hampton Inn.
I'm a Hilton employee myself so I'll try to be as fair as I can be. I checked in and I think Scott checked me in. he was very informative and brief in the check in. I didn't feel to welcomed but I do understand people just want to go to their room and rest. His performance was settle and efficient. The room was amazing, house keeping should be proud. There was some minor observations like the fitted sheet inside out or coming off the mattress but I don't consider things I can just fix myself to be any issues at all. Cliff the night auditor was very present and focused. Lalia the breakfast attendant was amazing. Everything was spotless and was always filled up to expectations. 10 out of 10 for her! Terri checked me out and it felt like she was the only one whom cared about my stay. I reported a toilet in my room that would splash from the top of the tank and she was did amazing at acknowledging the issue and listened like a proper customer service rep would. 10 out of 10 Terri! I would see some staff walking in and out of back office areas whom seem like they have duties more on their mind than saying "hello, how is your stay" I was a little disappointed but I know everyone has things to do. I think I would rate my experience a 7 out of 10. It's close to the mall, and has everything you would need from a traditional Hilton. I would defiantly recommend, and stay again. Of course I'm going to rank the highest on tripadvisor because I experienced a good hotel with good staff and facilities with committed staff should get all the recollection on SALT as much as possible. Keep up the good work you guys!…
