We left for breakfast on Sunday morning. When we got back there was a housekeeper in our room. She was throwing our stuff in the trash, all this was 2 hours before check out. I then went to check out and told the front desk what had happened and all they said was "I'll talk to the housekeeping supervisor." We will never be back it was very disappointing.
Check in was relatively easy. Tried to upgrade the room but was told the entire hotel was booked. As for the room, outdated. The shower/tub wasn’t clean with a blueish residue along corners. The shower had zero pressure and you had to hold the handle down all the way and hold it for the toilet to flush. Went to the hotel bar/restaurant. We sat at the bar and had not seen a bartender or server for about 20 minutes. Numerous people had called the front desk to inquire as by this time, there was about 10 people waiting. They only had 1 person working the bar for a hotel that was entirely booked (on a weekend). When we finally got our drinks we waited another 30 minutes after finishing for the bartender to be present and we had to ask for another. There was also overflowing trash cans in common areas. We left shortly after. Their place is horribly staffed and managed. Would not return.…
We stayed at this hotel for a wedding and had an incredible time. The hotel was very accommodating to all the guests and went above expectations. The gym is nice as spacious along with several restaurants that are walking distance. The common area is an excellent area to interact with other guests. It was also an easy drive to the airport as a quick trip to downtown.
I've stayed at this location several times & every time I wonder why. The rooms are clean and "fine". Although the TV is likely one of the smallest I've seen in a hotel in 10 years. The upholstered chairs in the lobby restaurant are all stained and dingy. The breakfast buffet is about as good as a Comfort Inn yet it costs $16.00. Ridiculous! The staff is attentive and professional. The lobby bar has a decent selection but food options are paltry. I would expect more from a full-service Sheraton Hotel.
Rooms not clean, guest service didn’t clean room, no towels or soap, towels soap not replenished on first or second day, called to remind them it needed cleaned and was told they are not cleaning when people are staying in the room. I reminded them we were gone since 10am returned at 4 the response was they won’t clean till we leave. This motel is absolutely a mess.
On recent road trip stayed here for the night and it was a pleasant surprise. Convenient to I-35 and local restaurants, the hotel was nice with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. My only complaint was bathroom was a bit on the small size and dated and the hot water ran out very quickly. However, the staff were super friendly and accommodating.
Nice hotel, Nice staff, Nice location, but not so clean. The bed was large and comfortable, bathroom was mostly clean. There were human nail clippings on the floor. There was left over food on night stands. Most of the furniture had nasty stains on them. There was a large college event the weekend we visited. They had to turn the rooms very quickly, and cleanliness standards were poor. Also old tub still in bathroom rather then a shower.
It was a 1 night stay while passing through Des Moines. We almost always have good experiences with Sheratons, but this stay was just off. We had to switch rooms 2 times due to odor in the rooms, and even the 3rd room wasn't "fresh smelling." Cleanliness was definitely an issue. Staff were OK. They weren't rude or unprofessional, but didn't exude the typical warmth that we expect at hotels of this caliber. Hotel does have plenty of free surface parking and the location is convenient right off I-35.
We’ve stayed in this hotel before without any troubles; however, this last time was so bad. We were having issues with the sink/tub not draining and the toilet made a CONSTANT flushing noise. We thought there was an indoor heated pool and it was DEFINITELY not heated. It was freezing - which we were definitely disappointed about. Our sheets even came with this HUGE yellow stain on it. We definitely won’t be staying there again.
The bed was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The location is also convenient. However, there were a couple of downsides. The rooms do not have refrigerators (which is minor, but inconvenient when you have food leftovers that you'd like to keep). The major downside is that when we went (late September 2021) the facility had not been converted over to heating, and so the room was absolutely freezing! I have never stayed in a hotel which had an HVAC system like an industrial building which has to be switched between cooling and heating - every other hotel has individual heating and cooling in each room. If you go here mid-winter or mid-summer it would likely be fine, but in spring or fall you could be caught either being really hot or really cold in your room.
