Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel is in a nice commercial area with lots of food options nearby. Room was very nice, with a terrific little mini kitchen, cooktop included. The hallways smelled clean. The carpeting is an unfortunate choice as it looks like the Corona Virus probably installed pre-pandemic. The dining area was very spacious so you didn’t feel crowded. Dog friendly with bags provided; yet not a lot of green area to walk your dog; spouse went into the neighborhood nearby. Exterior very well maintained. Nice pool if a bit warm. Breakfast was fine. I heard some complainers but there was a bit of everything available even at the end of the breakfast window on a Sunday.

Hotel's Favourite
Nice suite with two queen beds and and fold out couch. The rooms and the facility were clean. The exercise room was clean and had some great equipment. The breakfast was sufficient (no waffles however). The only negative is that the mattress on the fold out bed was very thin. I could feel the springs of the bed and it sagged considerably.

I recommend this hotel to anyone who is in town visiting for extended stay for work. Everything is the excellent. I was here for business for six months. This place came to be home and it was quite the experience living in a hotel for such a long period.

our room was fantastic, but after we got home, my wife remembered she left a recent purchase of 3 pairs of pants were left in the room. so i called Monday morning and let them know we left these in the room, this person I talked to said she would talk to the head housekeeper about this and get back to me that afternoon, but its been over a week and I still haven't received the call back! Very disappointed ion the handling of this matter,

Great hotel to stay at if you are passing through Des Moines on I-35 or just in the area. The rooms were nice and accessible and service was good. It is located near a few restaurants and stores in case you need something.

My wife and I recently stayed one night at this hotel in a king room. We chose the hotel because of its location and based upon our past positive experiences with Homewood Suites hotels. The exterior of the hotel looks good. But our room was deficient in a number of respects, most of which seem to reflect a lack of maintenance. For example, the thermostat did not work properly, and the overhead fan did not work at all. The television, which was attached to the wall, looked like it had been damaged and, as a result, the screen literally faced downward towards the floor, which made it difficult to watch. In the kitchen, there was only one spoon of any size. In the bathroom, a tile had fallen off of the wall onto the floor and was laying on the floor. Perhaps the worst part of all was the bedding. It was old, thin, discolored, and did not smell fresh. All in all, our room seemed tired and in desperate need of maintenance. For these reasons, I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a hotel.…

We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations during your stay. We will definitely get a maintenance person in that room to insure that what is broken is fixed so that guests can enjoy their stay with us as that is the end result we wish for every guest is to be happy with their stay. The TVs can be moved to point which ever way is best for the guest but we will check to make sure that the stand has not come loose. Hope that you give us another chance.

To start there is a problem with the hotel industry where guests take luggage carts to their room and keep them there. We are seniors and I am recovering from knee replacement surgery. Yet in the morning of our departure there were no carts available. The morning manager admitted they had a problem with this issue. If that is the case, management needs to do something about it. Second a hotel that advertises a kitchen, then they should have kitchen utensils. Our room was missing numerous items including forks. We are so sorry that we did not have a luggage cart available when you were ready to check out as we do have 3 on the property. We put a sign up in the luggage cart area to please return carts after they are finished however, we can not police our guests to do so but we can check the halls for them. When I asked the person that was on that day she stated that she did go look but did not find any. We have also ordered and are waiting the delivery of the items for the kitchen. We hope that you will give us another chance as we are trying to improve across the board.

We had a death in the family and needed somewhere to stay for a week. The staff was friendly and hot breakfast was good. The location was perfect for us within a few steps to Applebees, and a short drive to Starbucks. I would recommend Homewood Suites.

This hotel is acceptable and has many positive things going for it. But there are negatives that make it not as acceptable as other options. It is very roomy. If you are looking for space, this is an excellent option. The double Queen suite can easily sleep four in the bedroom and two more on the pull out couch in the living room. The suites have a small kitchen where you can make some of your own food if you want, but there's only a two person table and two chairs. The bedroom has a ceiling fan! It worked great and was very quiet. But the beds were just a bit more firm than I like. Some people love firmer beds and if that's you this would be fine. But for me just a little too firm. The WiFi was free and worked great. The hotel has a pretty nice business center. Now for some of the issues I have that make this less than desirable. The hotel is a bit dated and somewhat worn, particularly in some of the common areas. The cleanliness of the hallways needs to improve particularly the hallway carpets need vacuuming. It's not a great image to check in, go up the elevator then see very dirty hall carpets. The shower was underpowered but the hot water was plentiful. The bathroom amenities were very small. Breakfast which was free was underwhelming. The few hot items seemed cheap. The very spacious suites make this hotel very attractive and if that's what you most value this is a great option. If you are looking for highly refined extras, then other options might be better. …

We are sorry that you did not fully enjoy your stay with us. We do have the painters coming to freshen up areas and we do have to follow the Hilton standard for the breakfast options. We try to keep the items filled so there is plenty of food and some options for all the guests but we do have to follow the standard. Hope you'll give us another try in the future.

Average hotel. I have generally been impressed with the value of Homewood Suites. This hotel feels very used and not maintained. The room cleanliness was alright but towels seemed like they were folded and put away damp, the toilet was broken, the walls inside the room extremely beat up. The ac unit made weird noises while running starting and stopping. Breakfast was extremely meager compared to other Homewoods. Everything was out except the potatoes and waited about 20 min to be restocked but didn’t seem to happen.
