The grounds of the hotel were nice, especially when I needed to take a break after work and could easily find seating outside near the water. However, what makes this hotel top-notch is the staff, specifically the General Manager Nocona. Nocona saw that I was having issues booking an Uber to the office and explained that the car service isn’t widely available in the area. But in true “Iowa Nice” fashion, Nocona offered to give me a ride to the office and a nearby breakfast restaurant. Nocona did not have to do that but went above and beyond to assist me. Thank you so much for your above and beyond hospitality, and I will remember next time to rent a car!

When we first checked in, we got to our room only to find that they hadn’t made the beds or finished cleaning- attached photos. At first it sounded like we were going to have to wait while they tried to track someone down to clean the room since there were limited suites available. Eventually, they ended up finding us another room. For comfort, we had chosen the two bedroom suite. There are two bathrooms, a kitchenette and a fireplace. The room was quite spacious, but definitely worn and in need of updating. There was a full-size fridge, dishwasher and stove, but no cooking sheet/pan for oven. We had a lot of difficulty trying to regulate the temperature throughout the suite. We stayed for three nights, and the temperature never aligned with what we had it set at. The shower curtain in one of the showers wasn’t long enough and made it very difficult not to drip water out onto the floor. The couch was super uncomfortable and there were bloodstains on the sheets for the foldout bed. The staff was friendly and accommodating when we needed more towels. Breakfast area was clean, but the food choice was limited and eggs & meat tasted off. The coffee available at breakfast was extremely weak and more like colored water. I was also shocked to find that there is no icemaker available to guests. The stay was definitely not up to our usual Marriott experience. I can’t recommend this hotel at all.…

Our room was cleaner than the last time we stayed. Attention still needs to be paid to the bathroom. There is really no excuse for hair on the bathroom floor, in the tub or the toilet not being completely cleaned. The staff was outstanding....from Check- in to breakfast to check-out. Breakfast was good.....less options than pre-covid but oatmeal topping options were great! The eggs were watery. No shredded cheddar cheese like before, but there were cheese sticks next to the yogurt. Beds were comfortable.

The Good… Location..located at a major mall with lots of shopping options in the mall and near by including REI, Container store. Several top chain restaurants located steps away. Almost any chain or fast food within a few miles. Easy access to I80 and I35. Nice pond to walk around or walk in the mall. Property was quiet. We were also at the end of the hall.. air conditioner was reasonably quiet. It did work well considering we were having 95 degree temps. Clean..room was clean. Staff..everyone was very nice. Hugh quality bathroom products. Full size oven/stove and actually had pots and pans Negative Couch was super uncomfortable, nothing not prop feet up on. No daily housekeeping. Not even on request. Could usually find staff folding in laundry room so could exchange towels and get supplies. Otherwise had to go to front desk. Breakfast sucked, still doing the COVID breakfast. Packaged breakfast sandwiches with lots of additives. Packaged waffles. Had toast, bagels and muffins,plus milk and sometimes yogurt. No fresh fruit. Orange juice was good. Did have cold brew coffee. Location…really busy traffic on the roads. But you didn’t hear them at night. Unloading…awkward. Elevators are a bit of distance from front lobby. Limited parking in front. If parking on side had to climb 8 or so steps to door, dragging suitcase. Shampoos are locked and mounted to wall, conditioner was low that the pump didn’t work. Kitchen sink didn’t drain, had to call maintenance…

This location of this property can't be beat. Cheap eats plus finer dining all close by - plus shopping of all kinds - and a beautifully-landscaped pond adjacent to the property to walk around. Nocona did an excellent job helping me for a particular situation of mine. And the front desk, breakfast, and cleaning staff were all cheerful and kind.

I really don't like to give poor ratings during this extremely tough time for employers with the good employee shortage. BUT, they need to inspect rooms after cleaning. Ours had canned foods in a cabinet, popcorn remnants in the microwave, toothpaste on the faucet, black mold (see photo) topped with hair in the shower. Located in the heart of a great mall,wonderful restaurants and shopping. One other note, we have found "no carpet rooms" just feel cleaner and are usually in new or updated hotels. This one has carpet.

I have stayed here many times. This recent stay is not on par with the others. However. the front desk staff (We encountered 3 different staff members) was exceptional. We witnessed them go out of their way to address various issues with utmost confidence. It was refreshing and truly unlike anything I've ever seen. (You may have 1 strong front desk staff, but not 3) Also, the best front desk staff that we've experienced over the years at this particular Residence Inn. The room was dirty. Areas of the living area and bedroom were not vacuumed. There was an apple sauce cap next to the fire place as well as some food on the carpet. Pubic hair was in the shower and the shower was dirty. Their was a hair on the dining seat. The living area chair was worn. Once of the towels in the bathroom looked used. The toilet was not scrubbed. The sheets were of good quality and the bed was very comfortable. We have done a great deal of traveling the last few months and this was the most inadequate breakfast we have experienced. The only hot item was waffles and every low chain hotel we have stayed at has that. We expect so much more from a Residence Inn. There were lots of carbs. which very few hotels offer these days. (Muffins, bread, bagels, muffins, cereal, oatmeal packet) The chobani yogurt was nice touch. Boiled eggs were available. They also offered Uncrustables, which was an interesting offering. The breakfast was not quite on par with a nice Super 8 hotel breakfast - more hot items at Super 8. When I go to a Residence Inn I feel as if I'm paying a bit more for the great suite room and the Deluxe Breakfast. I was disappointed. Had I known that the breakfast offerings were subpar and the room would be dirty, I would not have chosen another hotel.…

Don’t bother looking around for a better place to stay, this hotel has it all. My first experience on the phone was with Nakona (spelling?). I could tell she was an owner or manager because she was extremely decisive and had an answer for all my questions…HOW REFRESHING!!! Then check in was a great experience as I was able to see the Front Desk clerk (Shelly) reunite a guest with his missing reading glasses and diabetes testing machine!!! The room was huge and clean and our kids LOVED the pool!! Everything is within walking distance and strolling around the man made pond at night after dinner was a real treat. Do yourself a favor and book this place immediately.

Beautiful, new hotel. Set in a new retail park like setting on a small lake surrounded by restaurants and shops and walking paths. The breakfast offered was wonderful even with the Covid restrictions. We had oranges, fruit juice, hard boiled eggs, breads, yogurts, muffins and more. Our kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed, place settings for four. The room was spotless, everything worked, very quiet. We’ll stay here again. I’ll highly recommend this hotel.

Residence Inn almost always works well for our family travel and this was a repeat stay. This property was no different. There was a minor issue with the room's cable function but it was swiftly repaired with courtesy. The post-COVID continental breakfast was definitely a disappointment....more like dining from a gas station convenience store.
