Hi, Getting to the hotel was a bit of a trick as it is situated at the end of a dead-end road with a new, popular fast food restaurant in front of it. However, once there, check-in was easy, the room was clean and decently appointed for a budget hotel. As I was there on business, I went to my evening meetings and returned decently late. After a late evening and with check out at 11am, I was planning on sleeping in. However, at 8:30am, I was awoken by a knock on my door, an announcement of "Housekeeping", she then keyed in, and opened my door. I can then only assume she saw my things and closed the door. 20 minutes later she then knocked and announced again, at which point, I said "Occupied". With my sleep interrupted, I decided to go down and get breakfast, which was okay, if a little scant (probably due to Covid). I then got ready and checked out. To be honest, the troubles getting in, and then the problems with housekeeping just kinda soured me on the whole experience.…
I was looking for a room for the night as I passed through Des Moines and the rating fur the Sleep in were good so I gave it a try. The lobby area was really nice and the front desk staff was very pleasant. The room was nothing grand but it was well equipped and clean. I am very pleased with my stay here and would recommend it to others.
We stayed here for the night to break up our drive to KC. The hotel was pretty clean. Breakfast options were pretty good considering COVID restrictions were in place (grab & go). The employee working the breakfast area was very kind & helpful to my son. My only complaint is that there is construction going on next door so we heard that Friday morning.
We spaced are daily hours behind the wheel and then look on Trip Advisor for suggestions. Sleep in is relatively new. Comfortable and Clean. We had a room on second floor over parking lot and smoking area. Not a big issue but something to think about. Lots of construction to the front. A Steak and Shake is coming. We would have loved a chance to eat that close. Wife talked about Steak and Shake the whole trip. Just never ended the day close. Reasonably priced worth consideration on your trip
Great location, great room, quiet and super clean! You could smell the disinfectant used; whatever they used, it was not an unpleasant smell at all. It was very evident that they are taking Covid seriously. The bed was very comfortable, which was much appreciated after a long day on the road. There was plenty of light for reading in bed, or for working at the desk. Bathroom was a good size, plenty of hot water; my only complaint (which I have for almost all hotels) is that the water is too soft. I do not like feeling like I’m still covered in soap! It is also very hard on my psoriasis; makes it very tender. The salt in the water dries out my skin badly. While I understand the need for not providing anything more than per-packaged pastries, etc. for breakfast, my husband really missed making waffles! And I have always preferred a hot breakfast over a cold one. But this is the new “normal” for traveling at this time. We can only hope for better in the future.…
