This hotel is so beautiful. If you appreciate architecture and design this is a must see. We went to the farm and progress show and found this gem within 30 minutes of the show. The woodwork and artwork in the hotel are fantastic. It hqs a quaint atmosphere with fireplace , library, bar and even a 2 lane bowling alley. The town is quaint and the people are friendly. If you are going to Boone IA or anywhere near Perry and need a place to stay i would recommend this hotel
Have always wanted to see and stay at this special hotel that opened in 1913. All of the woodwork and the whole hotel is in perfect shape. We stayed in the king Italian Room and it was very clean & quiet. Large up to date bathroom. No fridge or microwave but ice is provided on each floor. The 2 lane bowling alley and workout room downstairs are very nice. We didn’t eat at the restaurant. They give a generous discount to AARP members. Recommend experiencing this gem.
We first visited the Hotel Pattee some 15+ years ago after winning a bid for a trip there at a charity auction. We had never heard of it, but the brochure about the hotel piqued our interest. And we've been going back since. It is truly a unique place with accommodations with "themed" (but not cheesy) rooms that can make each stay truly unique. I'd encourage you to visit their website to see a sample of just how special it is, although the pictures don't really do it justice. Our latest visit was for our 25th anniversary, and it truly made it a special occasion. Perry Iowa a destination? You should make it one, the Hotel Pattee is one of a kind, and its' location is part of its' charm.
I loved this hotel. It was clean and quiet with beautiful decor, including 40 rooms that are each designed with a different theme. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a very good restaurant. We ate two breakfasts and one dinner there and they were all very good including delicious desserts. I would love to come back and visit again someday.
We were warned ahead of time that a large wedding reception would be going on, but it was the only place to stay that was right on the bicycle trail. (We were arriving on bike's.) It was loud, but the services was truly amazing. Brittany ensured that all of our needs were met and was very accommodating. We hit the bed and had no trouble sleeping all night even though the large party was going on.
Stayed here on a bike trip thru Iowa. This hotel is beautiful, so glad Iowa didn't lose this gem. The restaurant is top notch, and so convenient to have on location. The room was large and had a large bathroom. They had a place on the first floor to store our bikes. I wish I could have spent more time in such a beautiful hotel
We were in Iowa for a cycling vacation and stayed at the historic hotel. We found it very comfortable and enjoyed the ‘themed’ room we stayed in. They provide a safe place for us to keep our bikes so we did not need to keep them in our room. There is a wonderful dining room and the staff was very accommodating! Even though there was not a microwave of mini frig in the room we found that we did not miss that at all. The ambience of the hotel is wonderful. We will definitely be back!
We ended up in this area picking up our new RV from a local dealer. There were a few issues so they put us up in this hotel. I’m pretty sure it was the only one, but it was a real gem. All of the 40 rooms are themed. We stayed in the Italian Room. It was interesting and cozy. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant that night and the food was fabulous and delicious. Highly recommend the pork sandwich and don’t skip dessert. The pistachio cake I had was amazing. If I were able to take some home with me, I would have. Their portions are huge so come with an appetite or be prepared for a takeout box. The entire staff was friendly. What is said about midwestern hospitality is true! This place is definitely a must stop.
Had a great time. This trip was a 2020 birthday/anniversary gift from my girlfriend. Unfortunately, the coronavirus delayed our trip until July 2021. This trip was well worth the wait. It was exciting for me to stay in a hotel that has my family name. The hotel and many areas of the town are named after a second cousin. We happened to stay in the D.J. Pattee Suite, which had original wood flooring and decorated with many Pattee family portraits and historical documents. The staff was amazing, including Lopso, The Pattee Pup. He was always around to great the visitors and play a little ball. Our Saturday evening dinner was delicious. We had the chicken parm and the tortellini chicken Alfredo. We topped that off with amazing homemade desserts of the day. We ordered peach and strawberry mules during dinner and had a couple more at the cute bar. I highly recommend walking around to check out the many parts of this historic hotel, including the outdoor patio and the two-lane bowling alley, in the basement. We also walked the quaint mainstreet area and many of the historic homes and churches. Don't forget to give Lopso plenty of pets and a few tosses with his tennis ball. …
We went to the Boone Railroad dinner train and had a great time. After the ride we drove to Perry to stay at the Hotel Pattee. We really loved our stay here. The breakfast was really good. The staff were so nice and helpful. The spa tub was wonderful in the room. The shower was also oversized in our room the Kings Daughters Room. I would love to go back to Perry and stay here again. Two lanes bowling in the basement. Spa you can make a appointment before you go.
