Overall I was happy with my stay. The property is a little hard to find as it is located behind a car dealership. The breakfast offerings were marginally adequate and there is no elevator for the 2nd floor rooms. I found my room to be clean as well as the rest of the property. This location is what I would expect for a room in this price range.

When we arrived the desk staff was very friendly. She gave us a key to our first room and the key didn't work. She gave us keys to a second room and those didn't work either. She upgraded us to a suite, which had a broken window lock. The window was stuck cracked open and there was no security pole to keep the window secure. FINALLY, on our fourth try, we were able to get into a room, with a key that worked and a window with a security block. The room was very outdated but I felt that the bed was comfortable. We had a dirty towel. There was no security on the outside doors. The desk staff, at checkout, was not friendly. We would not stay here again.

I had an excellent experience in all respects, with special kudos to the extremely helpful and gracious front desk staff, who went out of their way to assist me in finding an appropriate restaurant in the evening - and kept the breakfast service humming in the morning.

Loved the pool area, bigger than the average hotel pool. Breakfast was nice and area was clean. Room was clean and comfortable. Would have loved to have a jacuzzi near the pool. Will be staying again soon.

You can do better if you're traveling through Des Moines. This hotel has NO elevator, is in need of major updates and the "free" breakfast offerings consist of muffins, cereals and waffles. We picked this hotel because of its location off I-80 but there are many other choices for accommodations and I wish we would have taken one of them.

The room was good, but the honesty and helpful staff are the most satisfying aspect of this hotel. We left an important article behind and within a couple of hours we got a call from the manager offering to send it to us. We decided to turn around a go back for it, but i was most impressed by the manager and the front desk staff for their helpfulness and cheerful attitudes. Kudos!

The motel was in a good location for us. The people staying in the next room to us were very loud and kept opening and shutting the door. Then whoever was above us walked like they that weight on their shoes. The 3rd night everything was good.

I usually don’t have bad things to say about hotels…you get what you pay for, however this place was expensive for what we experienced. My one positive comment is that the staff were friendly and nice. The rest of the review is focused on our disappointment. Overall it was dirty, dingy and unfinished. The room was dirty, dusty, it was obvious it had not been properly cleaned. The floor in the bathroom was bubbling, had a hole and a piece of laminate that was sticking up that resulted in two of us scraping our feet on the edge of it. Carpet was dirty, chair was dirty, overall yuck feeling about staying there. With hotels being a dime a dozen - don’t stay here!

Staff was nice, hotel was less than mediocre. It was definitely not the AmericInn I am used to. Breakfast was awful, the pool burnt my kids' skin. Room was clean but very dated, I know they are working to update. It just needs a little love. Probably wouldn't stay again, but it wasn't the worst I've seen. Beds were comfy and served their purpose for the weekend.
