I would recommend this hotel; staff and the manager are very nice and are always asking if there is anything you need or that they can get you, always greeting you when you walk in, rooms are great and plenty of hot water in the shower

The AmericInn in Grimes, Iowa is a great place to stay. When you walk into the lobby to check in, the staff welcomes you as though you were family. The rooms are clean with all the amenities and coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the lobby. Breakfast is available every morning. By accident we had left my husband‘s overnight bag behind at our last stop eight hours away. We were trying to get them to overnight mail it to us. The manager in Grimes offered to call them for us and the end result was that we got our bag the next day! We were so happy and grateful that this man went above and beyond for us. We were here for a family gathering and this will be the place we stay on future visits.

Poor quality breakfast, I mean the milk is just sitting in a fridge accessible to anyone 24/7. The bed was like a pallet with a sheet and after 11pm could not get staff for anything at the desk, way over priced for the quality & bring your own soap!!

Clean and quiet. Everything in the room works the first time. Fast and friendly service at check in. I really thought I would hear more noise in the hallway but that wasn’t the case at all. Great night sleep in a comfortable bed!

The first room was still occupied, the second room was moldy and the AC made horrible noises which made sleeping difficult. The staff didn't have a clue about directions to or from the hotel. There was no coffee, breakfast was not stocked or functioning well. There is no elevator, just a LONG set of stairs. Definitely the low point of our family trip.

Our room and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was lacking. We had to ask someone to vacuum the floor upon our arrival. The fitted sheets on our bed would not stay put. There was noticeable dust and smudges on windows and table tops. The carpet, especially the stair carpet needed a good vacuuming. There were bits of debris and trash in most areas. It was as if the staff did not see tings as they should be or they were so understaffed they were not able to take care of the appearance of the place. On the positive side, the pool and jacuzzi were nice.

The overall hotel experience was average here. The hotel was clean but not overly clean and a few things here and there being fixed/repaired would make it worth the high price. Pool was nice size and clean.

Thanks to Dev and Amanda and all of the staff for giving us an awesome stay! The room itself was satisfactory, clean, and comfortable. Dev took the time to answer all our questions at checkin, and explained all of the amenities to us. Amanda and other front desk staff were helpful and friendly when presented with requests. Breakfast was what you'd expect from a continental style - nothing special, but it was clean and well-stocked. The jet tub in our room was very relaxing. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay!
