Jacuzzi wasnt worth the money in 212 the water was Luke warm ad we were cold on the jsccizi at 9pm. We ew booked this room forthright ammeents and they weren't upto par. We wished that the bedroom had more of what it offered. The bed and fore flame were nice.
We selected this hotel for proximity to another event—a concert at the Hoyt Sherman Place. We were very pleased with the ambience of the hotel. The room was clean and well appointed. It just felt comfortable to be there. We were also pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and order of downtown Des Moines, and the number of restaurants close by. We would definitely stay again. The only negative to our stay was that the body wash container in the shower was virtually empty.
Very nice updated suit with fireplace for a weekend getaway with the Mrs! Stylish, functional, fancy and clean. Nice bar set up with areas for larger groups and privacy for couples. Only complaint is that the comforter on the bed was a little too thin
We enjoyed our stay. It was such a pleasure to talk to the front desk people. It was such a change from the cranky, uninterested folks that run most hotel desks. We didn't have enough hangars, they got us some immediately. I forgot my toothbrush, they brought one up within 10 minutes. The rooms are comfortable and roomy even with 2 queen beds in it. I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Des Moines again. My only complaints: pillows weren't great (but most hotels have the puffy pillows that kill your neck). There are not enough plugs in the room and only one in the bathroom (hard for 3 people charging things & one needing a heating pad), and the bathroom counter could have been cleaned a bit better. All small things.
Was a nice weekend staycation for the holidays. The grand romance package was very nice and appreciated the extra touches. Couples massage was also nice. They offered a slumber pack but it would've been nicer if the hotel just had better sound proofing the traffic noise kinda spoiled the mood a bit.
This is a beautiful hotel. It is conveniently located to good restaurants, great urban trails, and other attractions. The staff really sets this hotel apart because of their knowledge, friendliness and personal attention.
I took my wife to Des Lux for her birthday, because it had the amenities I was looking for. Large suite with fire place and whirlpool. She loves massages, so getting a massage in the hotel was perfect!! Can't complain about anything. Loved our stay.
Was in town for business. The hotel was easy to find and loved the atmosphere of the hotel. Our room was lovely and the fireplace was a welcome addition. We were able to find great food close by and the hotel had a very nice breakfast as well. Parking was easy to find and get to - right across the street. Would definately go back as the staff was very friendly and helpful and the bartender we had during our stay was a great guy to visit with.
Des Lux Hotel was absolute stunning from lobby to room. We loved every minute of our time there. It was very clean, very spacious and just hit perfect on every scale for us. Loved that it was so close to lots of amazing places downtown and had the most amazing couples massage and if it's a couple getaway splurge on the Grand Romance package it is so worth it.
The room was beautiful, friendly service at the front desk, and we loved the sauna. The continental breakfast was probably the best we’ve ever experienced too. The hotel was a splurge, but worth it for a special occasion. The attention to detail in every aspect of the hotel really makes a special guest experience.
