This hotel is located in the heart of Downtown Des Moines with access lots of good restaurants and entertainment around. The rooms are so beautifully decorated and stock with essentials. We personally had a great stay. Staff was friendly and helpful all the time.
My husband and I loved the ambiance of The Surety. The lobby was warm and decorated beautifully. The gal that checked us in was very helpful and welcoming. We were very pleased with our room and how clean and cozy it was. The Surety is our new place to stay when we are staying in Des Moines!
Beautiful hotel and restaurant. Convenient downtown location. The room was clean and had a great view. Check-in was off to the side so multiple people were walk through. Security seemed minimal to none. Parking was not included or valet an option. If i were traveling solo I wouldn’t recommend. There’s no direct entrance into the building.
We got married at the Surety a few weeks ago and it is an absolutely beautiful and a stunning venue. The service from Sergio and his team was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and really made sure our day ran very smoothly. The servers even brought some of the appetizers out to us while we were having our photos taken during the cocktail hour which was just so sweet of them. The hotel housekeeping is extremely helpful and accommodating and the hotel beds are super comfy and if I could steal one, I would. :) We did have a small billing issue after the wedding was over, but the team at the Surety worked with me and it was resolved in a timely manner.
The hotel was absolutely gorgeous. I was part of a wedding and would highly recommend this space. The staff was extremely accommodating (especially Ari - probably spelled wrong). They went above and beyond what we needed.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff were all so nice. Surety king had amazing view of courthouse. We were worried because our room was right by elevators, but it was completely sound proof. Room service food was weak for the price and served with plastic utensils. Breakfast in the lounge was excellent!
An oasis in downtown Des Moines: set in a wonderful historic building, the Surety rooms are lovely, quiet and very comfortable. Beautiful details (woodwork, wood floors, period tiles in the hallway) abound. Professional and welcoming staff assisted us. And there's also a great restaurant & coffee bar within the hotel; so everything one needs is there. Parking is available nearby, too.
Great stay and amazing amenities in the hotel, with the exception that there should be coffee available in the rooms (rather than in the lobby). Close to everthing in downtown. Great food and beverage service onsite. Will return for another stay.
The hotel was very nice. Room was clean, beds were comfortable. The hot water was a little substandard. Hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. The one real disappointment was that I was charged $22 for parking. This should have been disclosed during the booking.
We loved the hotel itself. It is beautiful. I would say that the customer service lacked. It was clear that I couldn't find where to check in. The person that finally helped me watched me walk around lost asking people for assistance before she came over and checked me in. Then when we went to the restaurant the host was on the phone, didn't acknowledge our presence, just kept on with her convo on the line. Our waiter was kind and attentive-a really good guy. The food was too trendy for our taste.
