The hotel was very clean, check in and check out was friendly and speedy. The hotel clerk recommended places for supper that night within walking distance (actually in the parking lot). The pool and hot tub were clean. The breakfast was fantastic--everything you could possibly want to eat. The cold stuff was cold the hot stuff was hot. Would definitely stay there again.
Wow!! Completely renovated from top to bottom. It's like a brand new hotel! Bedding, furniture, bath and vanity area. All new, all luxurious. Expanded breakfast area and commons area. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay. Staff was wonderful too.
Our visit was for a girls shopping trip. We absolutely loved the Clive LaQuinta hotel. Hotel was lovely, beds and pillows comfortable, breakfast was great and staff were friendly! We had a problem with our TV and the front desk came right up and fixed it. The room darkening curtains didn’t work the best- our room stayed pretty light all night so that would be the only problem we had but it really wasn’t a problem. Loved it!
Family birthday weekend getaway we stay here .everytime we go to Des Moines .Great staff Very friendly very clean rooms .kids had a lot of fun at the pool .we stay here every trip to Des Moines. Will Definitely be returning
This is a truly nice facility. We enjoyed 3 nights here when we were having a family get together in Des Moines. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts were hot and had quite a bit of variety.
I would stay here again but the room I had had a strong smell of chemicals. The hotel looks like it was just renovated. Since I have allergies and asthma it made it very hard for me to breath. I also brought my 2 dogs and that part of the stay was good. They do need to have a designated pet area and provide poop bags. The second morning of my stay they were out of all sorts of items at the breakfast bar. There was still another 45 minutes to go before the breakfast bar was to be closed.
We were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The hotel looks fairly new. The Staff was friendly and professional. The lobby and rooms were clean, comfortable and fresh. We traveled with our dog and had no problems checking in. I would stay there again the next time we travel.
The pictures did not show the overflowing trash cans with alcohol cans, the stained carpets and broken lights, blinds, rusted 1960's pool furniture and destroyed gazebo with yellow caution tape. The area did not feel safe and there was nothing in the area such as restaurants. Although you wouldn't want to walk to one anyway. The Manager was very nice, but he could not make up for the unappealing, scary looking hotel.
We have stayed here many times in years past, and now with the remodel, there are a few items that are not as nice as should be for a King Bed Room. The shower and toilet rm. are very small that a large person would not like it at all. No shelf in the shower for soap or shampoo and no hanger for the towels. Water comes straight down from stationary, non- adjustable shower head making it hard to warm up water without it splashing outside shower. Shower floor is very very slippery. It was not planned correctly for use.We were on the side towards I-35 and was noisy all night. Next time we will ask for back side room. Other than those items, we loved our stay, especially being it was free with our Wyndham Rewards. Member since 1991 with LQ at that time.
Room was clean and smelled very freshening, the breakfast was so good it looked like Gordon Ramsay himself cooked it, plus the staff were friendly. I definitely will be staying here when I come back to Des Moines
