I’ve stayed in 100’s of hotels for work. This Super8 in Boone is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. TV is slow and impossible to work. Hair all over bathroom. AC is loud and obnoxious. There’s been a bag of trash in the hallway for 3 days. Vending machines out of order. Breakfast is non existent. They give you a WiFi password but it doesn’t matter bc wifi is unsecured and anyone outside hotel can access it without a password. Moldy bathroom. Feels worse than a college dorm. Bad repairs.
The stuff is very friendly and kind the rooms were clean but the bathroom around the tub had mold the 2nd room the Toilet you had to hold the handle down because it wouldn’t flush right And no locks on the windows
The price was the best thing about the stay. There was no breakfast as shown when I made the reservation on line and the rooms are showing their age. The heater blew non stop hot air and didn't stop when reaching the desired temperature and had to be unplugged. But like I said, since the price was right, we tolerated these things.
Shower was nice and hot - that's the highlight. Bed was okay. Breakfast was terrible. Could never get TV to work - had to get remote from front desk and ran scans and it would show how many channels but we couldn't watch any of them. Overpriced for what it was.
basically they changed my reservation leaving me a night short, no willingness to work out the problem by the owner. I ended up staying elsewhere the final night. Also on one day housekeeping left my door ajar for who knows how long. luckily nothing was stolen.
We stayed one night at the Super 8 in Boone, Iowa on May 1, 2021. We called the hotel to let them know we'd be arriving late as we were traveling from out of state and had to go directly to our event before checking in. When we arrived at the hotel, our room had not been cleaned. The bed was unmade and had been slept in and the bathroom trash had used tampons in it. We were extremely disgusted. We called the front desk, had to go to the lobby for new sheets (they weren't brought to the room) and change the sheets ourselves. This is completely unacceptable. Especially since they knew we weren't checking in until midnight and therefore had PLENTY of time to clean the room. We also had our 4 year old and 6 year old, so we needed both beds. They were asleep upon arrival, so dealing with this mess was an extra inconvenience, with absolutely no help from staff. The hotel did not serve breakfast "due to COVID," but the website still advertises the rooms with free breakfast included and the prices have not been reduced accordingly. This is also unacceptable. If the hotel was truly worried about COVID, they would have their rooms cleaned! We reported all of this to Wyndham and were told we would receive a response from hotel management within 10 days. We never received a response or any apology of any sort. DO NOT STAY HERE! In fact, don't stay in any of the Wydham hotel chains! You can get much better hotels for the same or better price.…
We stayed here for the Super Nationals race and we will not stay here again. Upon check in, I'm not sure if they were training help or if they just didn't know what they were doing. They had to call the owner as there were a couple of issues that arose. After getting checked in our room was in the back of the hotel. We parked in the back and as we came up to the door, it was unlocked. It remained unlocked the entire stay and there were broken hotel chairs in the back. Once in our room, it smelled like nobody had opened the door for quite some time. There was mold in the shower under the ledge that holds items. So bad that you could see it from the door. The outlet in the bathroom did not work. Pushed the rest button on the outlet and on the hair dryer and still didn't work. Hair dryer fell off of the wall. When I plugged the hair dryer into the room, it worked but not well. The chair that was in the room was missing the front left leg. When I sat in it I fell out of the chair into the wall. When we came back the next day the chair was gone and no replacement was put in its place. Housekeeping came to our room at 8 am and when we asked for extra towels (as we were not ready for housekeeping) they told us they did not have enough towels to give any extras out. We had two separate reservations and when I went to check out of the first one and told them I wanted to cancel our second reservation I was told I could not because it was not 3-4 weeks prior per hotel policy. I told the gentleman working that we were not staying and per their online policy I could be charged one night and cancel the rest he told me no but he would "try" to sell our room and would call us if he sold it. After a couple of hours and not hearing back I called the hotel to check on status, the gentleman who answered said that we couldn't cancel because of hotel policy. I once again told him I understood that and since it wasn't within hotel guidelines, online stated we would only be charged for one night stay and I told him I was fine with that. The gentleman then told me that he couldn't explain the policy now because he had a room full of people and for me to call back later. I told him that I too was a customer and wanted to resolve this now. He said no and hung up on me. After about 20 minutes, he called back saying he would then just charge us the one night cancellation fee. After he was processing the payment he stated that I was "rude and impatient" as he had told me he was trying to sell my room for me. I explained that was unappreciated and that I didn't want to stress of not knowing if he did or not. I then asked for him to email me a receipt and he took a deep breath and stated "I guess so." I honestly believe the only reason this hotel is still open for business is because it is so close to the racetrack and during the National race, there is not many places to stay. Read the reviews and believe them. I didn't think that it would be as bad but I should have followed and listen to previous reviews. We will not be back.…
My room was missing three of the five lightbulbs, my non-smoking room REEKED of smoke, and they were not giving out the hand sanitizer/wipes like Wyndham hotels are supposed to. Instead, they were selling it.
It was fine for a super 8. Not the nicest, the bathroom was a little dirty but it wasn’t awful. I most disappointed with the breakfast that was basically instant oatmeal, waffles or mini muffins from a store bought box. I mean if I’m going to pay for an average night in a super 8 I at least want a good breakfast.
When booking, I read reviews and thought they were overreactions because the place is outdated and over sensitivity to 3rd hand smoke. Nope! Should have listened. The air quality was awful inside the hotel. Had to walk thru cigarette smoke coming from desk manager. All flower pots were filled with cigarette butts. The front desk area smelled of new and stale cigarettes. The hallway and room had some chemical sprayed to cover up the cigarette odor. Could not open window to get fresh air. Ended up with a terrible asthmatic reaction and had to spend part of the night in vehicle. There was a used towel in the bathroom and cigarette burns/stains in the bedding (at least I hope that is what it was). The breakfast looked like the food had sat from the previous weekend. Rotting fruit, stale biscuits and bread. Waffle maker did not work. The juice had started to ferment. Looked for fresh yogurt in fridge. A note was on the inside. "Stay out you #######!" Trip Advisor will not allow the hotel's own words to be included in this review. It has been several days and my luggage still smells from my stay. Will not be back.…
