The newly renovated Indianapolis Marriott Downtown boasts 650 newly renovated guest rooms and suites which include modern, stylish design, luxurious linens, signature bath products, flat-screen TVs with HD programming and functional work areas. Connected via skywalk to the Indiana Convention Center and Circle Centre Mall, this downtown Indianapolis hotel is ideal for business travel, just steps from Lucas Oil Stadium, Victory Field and a short walk to Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
I was very pleased with the hotel and staff. The rooms and the hotel lobby were very clean. The remodeling of the bar area and the restaurant was very nicely done. The cost of parking my vehicle at the hotel is totally outrageous.
This is the perfect place to stay if you’re doing anything at the convention center or in town. The renovation results are outstanding I love that done. The new lobby and barre have a great ambience. The hotel is connected directly to the convention center which makes it possible to never need a coat in the winter.
I've stayed at some fantastic Marriott properties but this one fell short on two things.
First, I drove to this meeting and when I pulled up to the hotel the guy said $49 for valet and $45 for self park. I asked him to repeat that. This parking rate, especially self parking, is much too high for Indy. That is how much I pay for Golden Mile Chicago hotels!
Second, the rooms were designed around people who don't charge things. Unless I was mistaken, there was one unused outlet set in the room and it was at the desk. I personally have 4 things to plug in (computer, phone, watch, tablet). I don't know what a couple does when they stay.
A minor note, but not affecting my rating, HBO did not work.
On the good side, the staff was excellent and the conference room was nice.
Thank you to the Marriott staff for their help in making the 2018 ASALH Conference such a great success. Kasey McNulty definitely made my job as the conference planner easier and was a "jewel" to work with. I found that there was no request that I made that the staff didn’t immediately respond to. They definitely put the customer in customer first. Thanks again for making me look like I had all the answers to questions that weren't even in my lane.
When I arrived on Sunday night about 9:30 I was told there was no more valet parking available and I would have to park at the Jw and walk back. I found a manager and they valet parked my vehicle. When I got to my room I wanted to order room Svc. I couldn’t find a menu so I picked up the phone to call front desk and it did not work. I called front desk on cell phone and reported phone and asked about room svc. The young lady said she would report the phone problem and said room svc menu was on tv and it was very complicated. I agree with her. I gave up and went downstairs to the restaurant. When I left you charged me parking for an oversized vehicle when I was driving a small pickup (Chevy Colorado). $54 a day instead of posted rate of $49. I’m a rewards member with nearly a million points and this is not normal Marriott svc. By the way, they never fixed my phone. Thanks Todd Uhl
