Our stay at Villa de Wolf mansion could not have been any better!

This expansive mansion is impeccably furnished, and we were made to feel so very welcome!

The guest rooms were well furnished with comfortable beds, and many other comfort measures. Our delicious home-made breakfast was served on attractive china tableware, with a variety of tasty breakfast foods.

Our host, Mr. de Wolf, and Kimo, the Butler spent time acquainting us with all the rooms, while detailing the extensive and very entertaining history of the mansion. However, the highlight of our stay was without a doubt, the lively conversations we had the opportunity to engage in with both Mr. de Wolf and Kimo, the Butler!

We are eager to return sometime in the future!”

I was helping set up lodging for a small board meeting for a 501C(3) that I am involved with, and we needed rooms for 4 board members who were coming in from out of town, including myself. The board meeting was taking place at the nearby Illinois School for the Deaf, and some of our board members staying at the property are deaf. The service we received was excellent, the rooms are exquisite and the breakfasts were delicious. If this property were in a major city, it would be 4-5 times the price. A tremendous value for the property and service received. While I do not expect to be back in Jacksonville anytime soon, if I were, I'd definitely be staying here at Villa DeWolf.

The best B&B experience that we have ever had! This restored 1850 mansion is breathtaking! From the moment that you arrive you are treated like royalty!

The owner, Scotty DeWolf, goes out of his way to make sure you have a wonderful first impression and experience. He gave us a grand tour of the mansion. He was amazing! He told us so much history about the home's original owners, The Ayers family, and their contribution to central IL. Scotty is such a nice guy. We really enjoyed our conversations with him.

The butler, Kimo, greeted us at the door and carried our bags up to our room. He was so kind and attentive throughout our stay. He served us breakfast the next morning and made sure we were fully taken care before we left.

The home is decorated to the era in which it was built. As you walk from room to room you are just in awe of the decor! At least one fire place in each room! Our room was the Eliza Ayers Suite. It included a queen size bed, wardrobe, TV, minifridge, fireplace, full bath with amenities. As a bonus it provided robes and slippers. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The food: We were served a full breakfast. It included a slice of ham, 2 huge blueberry pancakes, cantaloupe, strawberries, grapes, OJ, and coffee. All served to you with joy by Kimo and Mr. DeWolf.

The area. State Street in Jacksonville is beautiful. It is full of old historic homes with big trees that line the street. It is always a pretty drive or walk but we especially enjoyed it since the leaves were changing colors. Jacksonville itself if a town filled with civil war time history. Our favorite go to casual restaurant is Leo's Pizza.

I highly recommend taking a break from life and staying here!

We had an amazing visit to Villa DeWolf. The Ayres Mansion has been beautifully restored and the public rooms and guest suites are well appointed with a luxurious yet comfortable feeling. The food and service were impeccable, including a tour of the mansion with historical details from the owner and personalized white glove service from Kimo the Butler. Guests have access to the entire mansion, including the top floor game room and library. The entire experience was curated for our precise wishes and needs and the owner even followed up after our visit to ensure our expectations were exceeded—which they were.

Besides for those wanting higher end accommodations in Jacksonville, Villa DeWolf would be an amazing place for a special occasion, a bachelorette weekend, a family reunion, any type of reception, or a luncheon gathering.

Highly recommend!

Spectacular B&B! The most tasteful rehabilitation of a 19th century mansion we have ever experienced. Scotty, the owner is the classiest cowboy you’ll ever meet. His conversation is as unparalleled as his home and breakfast will not disappoint. Lincoln was in this mansion many times and that, in and of its self, makes it worth visiting but the exceptionally executed decorations, with the perfect balance of antiquity with contemporary, makes you want to stay! This place is and absolute MUST!

I had the opportunity to journey back to Jacksonville for my Illinois College reunion. It had quite a long time since my last visit. Having discovered Villa de Wolf was a wonderful find. It is located within blocks of the campus and is housed in an incredible Victorian mansion. The owner Scotty de Wolf has restored it to sophisticated perfection. And only matched by his passion for its history and expressed hospitality. The mansion and original owners had a significant connection to the history of Illinois College, which made it even more special.

Every aspect of my two night stay was incredibly enjoyable. The addition of Kimo, the butler was an added treat. Both were so knowledgeable, passionate about the mansion and kind. Hanging home cooked gourmet breakfast each morning was such a luxury. I certainly will return on my next visit to my alma mater.

Highly recommend Vill DeWolf as a destination long weekend. It's incredibly beautiful but what makes it even more of an experience is interacting with Mr. DeWolf and Kimo and learning about the history of this splendid mansion amd quaint town. If you want an experience of history and charm and lots of heart this is the place to visit. Mr. DeWolf is an incredible host. He made sure we had healthy and delicious breakfasts every day which he paired with fresh squeezed citrus juices and fresh berries. His generosity should be legendary. Kimo who is also the butler was smart and witty and funny while being so considerate.

We felt incredibly grateful and lucky to chance upon this hidden gem in central illinois.

The mansion itself is exquisite and charming. Take lots of photos it would be a shame not to! Mr. DeWolf greeted us with a song and a wonderful grand piano accompaniment for my husband's birthday and continued to regale us with beautiful music he played on his grand piano throughout our stay. Kimo's lovely daughter also a wonderful musician, did the same. It's a family run endeavor with thoughtful details that ho above and beyond.

Again, an experience we will never forget.

Well, let me start by saying this beautiful 180 year old mansion is immaculate on its own, but Mr. DeWolf and his butler, Kimo are what really made the experience special. We just finished making a movie in this stunning location and we’re also fortunate enough to stay there as well. I had the Grace Ayers suite. It was immaculate! Very comfortable bed and the gigantic windows let in a lot of natural light.

Ok, now onto some of my favorite things. Mr. DeWolf is a very talented pianist and he entertained us on several occasions during our 3 week stay. He was such an upbeat person, proud to be a huge part in making our movie. He even got to be in it! Kimo, his butler, is also a talented musician, who shared his work with us one evening. These charming men are certainly my favorite part of the Villa. The building itself is absolutely stunning, but they made it feel like a home away from home. Like visiting family.

When you walk into the beautiful Villa De Wolf after being greeted by the exceptional butler, you are treated to an extraordinary experience. Every comfort is addressed. Surrounded by beauty. The Mansion has been restored to it's 1857 glory. But I think the best part is the caring Staff. They made our anniversary stay special. I happily give my full recommendation to Villa De Wolf.

This is a beautifully restored pre Civil War mansion that has gorgeous rooms, delicious breakfasts and a delightful owner, butler and cook. The location is ideal as it is in a lovely neighborhood not far from the historic downtown square. It is also close to a former governor of Illinois' restored mansion dating back to the 1830s as well as close to Illinois College which is the oldest 4 year college in Illinois.
