Marcus checked us in at the front desk and was absolutely wonderful. He made our stay extra special as we were celebrating our 5 year anniversary. We had a very pleasant stay and the room had an amazing view. Room was very clean and the hotel was at the perfect location.
My daughter and I stayed here while visiting colleges in the Chicago area. We arrived early evening after driving for 3 hours and felt incredibly under-dressed for the crowd visiting the restaurant. We tried to reserve a table at the rooftop restaurant, but it was supposedly booked. However, when we visited the rooftop bar, there was no one dining below at the restaurant. That was odd. Our two double room was spacious enough and had everything we needed. The view of the river was nice, although marred by the large "Trump" sign opposite us. The elevators are multiple and fast! The hotel is just a block away from Michigan Avenue if you're into shopping. We had dinner at an Irish pub a block away - there weren't a lot of close restaurant choices nearby, but the pub was good. It was a little price, but it is on the river. You can save $100 bucks or so a night by staying a few blocks away. But my daughter had never stayed on the river and really enjoyed the vibe. If you can't get a reservation, just go hang out at the bar a bit. …
I cannot say enough about the employees at this hotel. We were greeted outside by Kevin and he was our bellman all weekend. "What a gem of an employee!! He directed me to a lovely gentleman at the front desk named Marcus who was ever so helpful about places to see and how to navigate the hotel. Kevin stopped us in our comings and goings and made sure we had what we needed and offered directions and info about the weather which we were thankful for. I must say, I did not know what to expect because I never stay at Hilton hotels, but now I will stay there again due to cleanliness, location and the staff.
Manny and Lindsay were amazing! Everything was set up perfectly and everything was on time. I would 100% recommend anyone who is thinking of proposing to do it at London House. You can't beat the view of the city and the experience.
Stayed there and was one of the worst hotels I have been to as far as service. Booked penthouse and requested early check in. Room still was not ready at 4:30. I had to ask for another room to shower and get ready for my meetings.Nothing was in the kitchen - even glassware - never checked in to see how things were after the initial check in. Won’t stay again
The LondonHouse is a really good hotel. It is perfectly located for almost every central Chicago attraction. The rooms are attractive and comfortable, and the bathrooms are convenient and modern. Service is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. I wish TripAdvisor would permit a 4.5 rating because this hotel is better than a 4 but not quite a 5. Among the reasons I think it isn’t a 5 are the inconveniently-located second-floor lobby and first-floor baggage check, the underwhelming welcome and arrangement of the lobby and front desk (where service is great), and the long, confusing corridors. If you are over 35, skip the rooftop bar.
I stayed at this Curio property in December 2021 as a substitute for the now closed Conrad hotel. The hotel has a prime location on Michigan Avenue just south of the river. I was upgraded to a river facing room which was nice to see the holiday lights on the Magnificent Mile each evening. The rooms, while appointed nicely, were on the smaller side. The bathroom is quite good size though. While this is not the Conrad, it is an acceptable choice while in Chicago for a weekend escape.
Mary Carmen Skoubis at the Concierge Desk is what separates LondonHouse from the other fantastic hotels in Chicago. Yes, LondonHouse has the best rooftop bar in the city, and yes it combines good service with a prime location. But many hotels have good service and a prime location. Mary Carmen Skoubis at the Concierge desk is a true asset. She was immensely helpful securing fantastic reservations each night at some of the most desirable Chicago restaurants. Her recommendations made our trip go from good to great. She’s so pleasant, warm and helpful. LondonHouse is lucky to have her. We’ll stay at LondonHouse every time we come back to Chicago for as long as Mary is at the concierge desk.
I am so happy to have booked a returning stay at the LondonHouse for my partner and I's trip to Chicago. While the hotel and location are absolutely beautiful, Nicole T. at the front desk was particularly stellar! After a mixup with our travel agent, Nicole guided us through a solution with clarity and kindness. Her efforts to make our stay fantastic were sincerely appreciated. Thanks Nicole and LondonHouse!
100% recommend it for any romantic plan or a fun dinner with an amazing view. Our night was made even better by Manny and Lindsay as they pulled off all the behind the scenes for our proposal. It is one of the most picturesque views in Chicago and I’m glad I had a memorable experience.
