The hotel is very well located, near Magnificent Mile and with easy connection to Navy Pier. The hotel lobby and restaurant are nice. The rooms are below average DoubleTree properties, the bathroom and amenities are a little bit old (probably 7-10 yrs) I recommend the hotel but compare prices with other hotels in the area with higher standards.
We had two rooms for two nights and were very happy with our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds were super comfy. The outdoor rooftop pool was very nice and fun. We arrived early and our room was ready so we were able to check in earlier which was super nice. The front desk was very helpful and friendly. A public parking garage is right next to the hotel and the elevator is in the hotel. $59 a day with in and out privileges. That’s a good deal in Chicago. We never needed to drive anywhere as everything is easily accessible by foot. We opted to prepay for an included breakfast and that was a good deal and so convenient. A mini Starbucks is right in the breakfast area too! The food, snacks and drink options were plentiful and good. Checkout was easy with no problems. I highly recommend this hotel.…
We stayed at this hotel from June 9th-11th and we loved it. There is a very helpful two-lane drive-up entrance so you can get off the busy street to unpack your bags. Security to the rooms is great, you need to swipe your card whether you want to go to you room, or even the pool on the fifth floor. You need your card to get practically anywhere in the hotel so make sure you don't leave that behind. The elevators are really fast in the hotel, we never had to wait more than a minute for one even at checkout time. Beware, the elevator doors shut quickly so don't waste your time getting in! My kids loved the outdoor pool, it was a bit cold, but they had just opened it Memorial weekend. Pool and recreation deck hours are 9am-9pm; they offer thick beach towels at the pool area, so you don't have to worry about having those. The beds were a bit on the harder side and the pillows were super soft and feather like. The water pressure is nonexistent in the showers, but the air conditioning worked really well and allowed us to change the temperature. All the staff was very nice, welcoming, and helpful. The Starbucks in the lobby only offers drinks, no food. Lastly, thanks to the Spot Hero app I was able to secure $20 parking at the 345 E Ohio parking garage for one of our nights, and $30 the other night at another garage which was just a couple of blocks away so parking can be much cheaper nearby if you look. We can't wait to go back to this nice, quiet hotel again.…
Our Memorial Day Weekend stay at the Doubletree Magnificent Mile was nothing short of perfection! From the moment we checked in, Grace from the Front Desk made us feel welcomed and excited to be there. Special thanks to Kevin Stabile from the Front Office team who also assisted us with pre-arrival information and checked in during our stay via text- such a nice touch! The room was very clean and had a great view. Breakfast was great and our server was so nice and attentive. We also got drinks one day at the lobby bar and the entire staff were friendly and efficient. This hotel is in the perfect location- you can walk anywhere and there are also several bus stops near by. We did a ton of walking all weekend and coming back to the hotel to be greeted by warm chocolate chip cookies was the best feeling ever. I value service over everything and the service I experienced at this hotel was top notch! This property has an amazing team. I will choose the Doubletree Magnificent Mile every time I come back to Chicago!…
My wife and I booked a room for 5 nights. The stay was excellent overall. My 1 star review is because of a horrible situation at their restaurant. We looked up their hours on their website. Their site showed they opened at 3:30pm. We got to the restaurant about 3:35. The waiter rudely informed us that they didn’t open until 4pm. It was annoying to say the least. So, we decided to go back to our room. While in the room we both made a drink with water and crystal light. We were about to head to the Cubs game and we wanted to be well hydrated. We took our partial drinks down with us at 4pm to try to eat again. The waiter came up to us and loudly started saying we couldn’t bring our own ALCOHOL into the restaurant. When we told him it wasn’t alcohol, he started yelling at us that he said “drinks” not “alcohol”. Well that got me angry and I started raising my voice. The customers at a table nearby totally butted into the conversation and stuck up for the waiter, which made me angrier. We ended up just getting up and leaving. The front desk manager was very nice when I complained to her. She went and talked to the bartender. I could hear him denying it all. I hope they have cameras in there so they can see the truth and fire the fool. I’ve stayed at a lot of Hiltons. This one was headed for a 4 star review if it weren’t for the way we were treated in the restaurant. I hope our next 2 nights go better. Maybe I’ll upgrade this review once my anger settles down. It really has been a good stay until now. It didn’t help I just received the news one of my good friends died last night. Not a good day so far :(…
Had an awesome stay at the Doubletree Magnificent Mile in Chicago. Great location, clean rooms and friendly staff. Was able to use the Hilton app for contact-less check-in and check-out and used it as a digital key, which was pretty neat!
This Doubletree had everything we needed, it’s clean, accommodating & staff was super friendly & welcoming Sarah Jane made our stay exception!! 10/15 min walk from EVERYTHING! Great restaurants, entertainment & tourist attractions within walking distance…full service bar for a quick bite or libations on the go, mini coffee bar offering Starbucks… if your super bougie & expecting 5 star experience then this is not the place for you ( though it comes close) if you’re looking for quality, affordability & great service then look no further. This IS the best quality experience & hotel if you don’t want to break the bank!! This hotel will be my stay of preference whenever I’m in Chicago!
Very nice hotel. Close to everything. My husband and I walked everywhere and just left the car in the parking garage. Staff was very nice and helpful would definitely stay there again. Also loved there was a Starbucks in the lobby. Although we visited the main one. Very clean hotel and room. Loved that they had shampoo, conditioner, and bottle wash in big bottles to use. Would recommend this place to anyone.
The hotel is in a great location. Couple blocks from the Magnificent Mile. 10 minute cab ride from most tourist attractions - Navy Pier, Millenium Park, and River boat tour. Grocery stores, Dunkin Doughnuts, and nice restaurants(O'Tooles) are all within 2 blocks of the hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Doubletree in Chicago, it was close enough for walking to manymajor attractions. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was a nice size and it, as well as the public areas were kept clean. It wasn't cheap but no nice hotel in downtown Chicago is.
