This hotel is very quiet considering being in the city. All the staff was super kind and friendly during our stay. The room was clean and neat but I will say the pull out couch in the one bedroom suite was the worst! This was the reason why I rated them 4 out of 5 stars. The couch was horrible to sit on let alone sleep on. It was unbearable. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and silverware and the fridge was a great size to have for leftovers. The morning breakfast was nice to have for convenience. Hot oatmeal, cheese eggs, potatoes, and one morning was bacon, the next was sausage patties. They have bagels, muffins, fruits, cereals, and yogurts too. Coffee and good and had a variety of flavored creamers as well. Hot water for hot cocoa and hot tea was also available. This location was great for a quick walk to the river, Michigan Ave was a block away, Navy Pier was close by, and the red line is 2 blocks away making it a great place to stay if you’re heading to a baseball game, or a museum. Beautiful views from all directions. We will stay here again, but will make sure to book a connecting room instead of relying on the pull out couch.…
Stayed here with friends during the end of July 2021 when we were in town for Lollapalooza. The room was able to fit all four of us comfortably with the pull out and the king bed, and it was really nice that we had access to a full refrigerator and a kitchen. The room also had a pretty nice view of the city as well. The best part of the hotel though was the walkability around Chicago and being so close to grant park and the riverwalk. Staff were all super friendly as well. 5 Star vibes, would definitely stay here again!
We have just come to the end of a 4 night stay we chose the hotel due to location, pool and free breakfast. We made the right decision. Room was extremely clean and seems to have been recently decorated. The reason for me giving 4 not 5* is the sofa bed. My son was sleeping on there and the quality of the mattress was terrible springs sticking out everywhere we used the blanket provided to soften it for him, these need memory foam mattresses and not springs. No housekeeping unless requested but we just stopped at reception to ask for towels when needed always some there and the ladies on the desk always friendly and helpful. We visited the pool area daily my son enjoyed it he made friends and we were even lucky enough one afternoon to have it to ourselves. The view from the pool area is great being so high up. Always pool towels available up there. Breakfast was great always something to eat and Jeremy was a lovely friendly face in the morning. We attended the Wednesday night social had a beer and some snacks before heading out for the evening it was a nice touch and fairly busy. Location is perfect we walked everywhere except Lincoln park where we used an Uber. The walk to navy pier is an easy one we watched the fireworks on Wednesday night and strolled back. You’re right on Michigan avenue and it’s an easy walk to millennium park. I would stay here again if we came to Chicago it was everything we needed in a hotel.…
Whenever we plan a weekend in the city, Homewood Suites has been our choice because of suite price, friendly staff and a great location. However, this weekend stay revealed the upholstered sofa in the room had seen better days and could have used some light cleaning of cushions and arm rests. In the morning, the average wait time for an elevator was 10-15 minutes. The breakfast fare was just average. The breakfast chairs with upholstered seats surprisingly sunk several inches with your body weight. The television signals would occasionally go out requiring a re-boot at the front desk.
We stayed here 4 nights on a recent road trip to Chicago. As they say in real estate - location, location, location! This hotel is only a block off the Magnificent Mile and close to public transportation. There are many attractions that are within walking distance, as well. The free breakfasts were plentiful and well-stocked. On Wednesday evening, we enjoyed the free social. Jeremy was terrific at both the social and breakfast time. He made sure that we had what we needed for our varied dietary requirements. Our room had an excellent view. We particularly enjoyed the buildings lit up at night.
We hosted a small team meeting at the Homewood in June- 2022. We found this to be a very good value hotel for the downtown Chicago peak tourism season. The rooms and meeting spaces are clean and updated. The meals and breakfast were above average for hotels in this price band. The team and customer service we received however, was excellent. Our event planner- Dane helped us put together a meeting on very short notice. He was responsive and sure to check on us. Some of the other team members who helped us out with AV, refreshments etc. were excellent. Every associate greets every customer with a good morning (sometimes twice). One team member who came to the rescue with some power cords for our group proudly told us he's been at that hotel for 20+ (I believe) years. the only drawback for our group was the valet parking. When I arrived, there were no valets, no valet zone to pull into (it was coned off), and it wasn't really a normal busy check-in/arrival time (12pm). So I had to self park, but there is a garage literally a block away. The rest of the group didn't have the same valet issues for the most part, so they were probably just busy/short staffed. all in all- highly recommend for a good value option in a very desirable neighborhood for tourism and the Chicago loop experience.…
The hotel is perfectly located downtown near the Riverwalk, Millennium and Maggie Daley parks and Navy Pier and a short ride from the Shedd Aquarium and Field Museum. The rooms are perfect for families, with a full kitchen and fridge. We used the kitchen to clean baby bottles while we were there, which was great, although the hotel only provides dishwasher detergent and not regular dish soap and sponges. Breakfast was nice, but not lavish, and the staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.
Not a regular review writer but felt the need, great hotel, great staff, perfect location but dreadful breakfast has meant us having to go out and purchase elsewhere. 4 days in and the breakfast offered has been the same, only tea offered is camomile, cheap plastic cutlery which breaks at slightest pressure, disposable plates, such waste when we are meant to be caring for our environment. Finally a bowl of oranges was offered along with frozen grape juice. We chose a hotel with breakfast as part of the deal but will have to continue to go out for our final 3 days. Such a shame as have loved Chicago but recommend this place for room only.
Very pleased with this hotel. I had a one bedroom suite that had a very well equipped kitchen. Several grocery stores within a few blocks. Breakfast had eggs and bacon or sausage each morning in addition to cold items. Staff very pleasant. Good location.
The director of sales, Dane was an absolute breeze to work with during our event. He was quick on his feet with responses to anything we needed and ensured we were treated like VIP guests prior to even arriving at the hotel! Upon arrival, Jeremy extended one of a kind service by catering to our needs expeditiously, our stay was one of the best we've had thus far! Not to mention the hotel is a short walk to quick bites...and Starbucks! 10/10 would recommend 1,000 times over! Dane, you're the best!
