The b&b was the perfect location for us! We moved our son into his new home just down the street and were in walking distance of restaurants, shops and the train. Loved that breakfast and free parking were included! April was extremely helpful and we were offered beverages and snacks every time we came through the door. We enjoyed the rooftop patio, especially with the nighttime view! The decor and accommodations were beautiful and relaxing! A true respite from the city! We can’t wait for our next visit to Chicago and The Sonos!
Spent a weekend at the Sono last Halloween (2021) to celebrate a cousin's birthday. Couples came from all over the country to stay in Chicago. The Sono is a great place to have a group/couples get-together. The kitchen is a great gathering spot in the house. The guest rooms are very well appointed and clean. The rooftop desk is a great space for viewing the city, day or night. The Sono also has a great location... walkable or a short drive to all the action in Old Town. Was blessed to meet the owners of the Sono during our stay. They made sure every aspect of the stay was top-notch. For anyone looking for a space for friends to gather and have a good time and a good rest, I highly recommend the Sono.
We were only in Chicago for 24 hours but the Sono Chicago was a great place to stay. It has lovely charm, very clean and a good continental breakfast. The location is perfect for parking your car and walking to many close visitor spots...downtown Chicago, Riverboat tour, Old Town. Parking is tight but we were able to find a spot close by and it's free. Not something you see often in a big city. The hosts were lovely and were very helpful with recommendations. We hope to be back i the future for a longer stay.
Just my husband and I came to Sono Chicago for a weekend. I was looking for a special boutique hotel experience. It was nice. I was not blown away but it was nice. The breakfast was simple but very pretty and it was complete. It was a continental breakfast but they did have hard boiled eggs. I went Sono expecting perfection. it was very nice but we are early risers and coffee is not available until 8 or 7:30 if they get started early but the practice is no coffee till 8. No coffee maker in the rooms. I think that would not work for a lot of people. The rug in our bathroom was frayed on the edges and our bedspread or comforter didn't cover the mattress on both sides and for some reason had a very lumpy look. The pillow cases were not crisp they were wrinkly. It was very clean but the bedroom was lacking in appeal. It needed something because it was so plain. If the bed had looked very crisp it would have looked cool and simple but with the wrinkled pillow cases, the frayed rug and lumpy ill fitting spread it was very clean and simple but unimpressive. If they are going to go minimalist the linens have to be super crisp and nice because that's all there is to focus on. I give four stars because it was a nice breakfast in a beautiful kitchen. The rooftop fire was beautiful with a very very nice nighttime view of the city and the staff was very nice and accommodating.…
The property is beautiful! It is nicely appointed and very clean. The exterior and interior are well done. Beautiful flowers and landscaping! Roof top was nice for an evening cocktail; has a lovely view of downtown sky scrapers. Megan was very attentive as were both the evening lady and the morning lady. The location is excellent. A ten minute walk took us to a myriad of restaurants, markets and coffee houses. Our only wish is that breakfast could start at 7 instead of 8. We had to check out early and missed what promised to be a delicious meal. We will definitely stay there again and will highly recommend!
A total 5. Lovely experience, here for 3 nights . Room was nicely appointed . Great continental breakfast , with choices for all. Megan, Joy were so helpful , I will definitely be back . They were fun to talk with as well. Beautiful rooftop sitting area . Perfect for a glass of wine
We really enjoyed our time here. Close to transit. Walkable neighborhood. Host was kind and gracious. Rooms were nice, large and loved the large shower. Simple but good breakfast. Great roof top place to chill. Highly recommend this! BIPOC owned and managed!
No need to stay anywhere else in Chicago. The Sono Chicago provides an exceptionally comfortable accommodation in a multiple story bed and breakfast. It’s location about a mile from the Miracle Mile mega shopping on Michigan Ave,Lakeshore and Lincoln Park in tge opposite direction. Immaculately clean, very comfortable beds, and self contained room/shower. The main floor kitchen and serving area accommodates necessary distancing in plush surroundings. A varied continental breakfast is included from 8:00 am-10:00 am to jump start the day. Complimentary curbside parking is available with daily stickers for these residential streets subject to parking space karma. Of particular interest is the fact that an owner is resident on-site and proudly extends her expertise and welcoming spirit. What else need be recommended when her name,Joy, sums up this total environment.…
Comfort is parking right up front and being greeted at the front door with a smile. Comfort is a clean and inviting front lobby. Comfort is the bed. Comfort is the bed. Had to say it twice, it's that good. Comfort is sleeping without hearing the outside world. Comfort is the spouse saying don't worry about locking the door when I go down for breakfast. Comfort is the cleanliness of the kitchen and sitting area. Comfort is having a nice conversation with the owner as she is making breakfast. Thank you Meghan and Joy
My stay at The Sono Chicago was truly amazing. Initially, it started out as a search for an apartment in the neighborhood. It then escalated due to awaiting for my new apartment to be ready for move-in. Upon arriving, I was blown away by how nice & modern the decor was. The owner was extremely nice, warm & inviting. I stayed in a suite with a king-sized bed & a balcony that overlooked the treelined street out front. From the balcony, I also had a clear Chicago Skyline view. The bed I slept in was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in my whole life. I found my first night there to be surprisingly soothing & serene. I awoke the next morning to the aroma of fresh baked croissants. When I wandered downstairs, I also found yogurt, a variety of fresh berries, various granola choices. I didn't expect the privacy that I enjoyed because there was a full house; still I sometimes felt that I was the only guest. Overall, my stay at The Sono Chicago was sensational & not only will I be returning to sleep in that bed soon, I am also going to recommend that experience to everyone I know. Finally, I almost forgot about the rooftop. Never been much of a rooftop person as most my partying was done in underground clubs & garages, but that's all changed. I hung out on the rooftop with some of the other guest & had the most life-changing fun!…
