I never heard back from Gamino or Benedict Ng. I was hungup on several times and waited as long as 15 minutes. When I get to a computer I will post the 15 pictures I sent them as well. I booked a one night stay at Millennium Knickerbocker for June 26th to June 27th. I kept getting notifications to check in early so since I was nearby I came into the hotel in person & was told to come back at 2:30pm. I came back a little before 3pm & checked in. I did some shopping & got dinner then came back & sat on the bed & watched a few movies. When I went to shower & brush my teeth I noticed the awful conditions in the shower & that the sink was stopped up. However it was past 2:00am I did not want to bother trying to change rooms & just wanted to go to sleep. I finally peel back the covers & see enough hair to make a wig. I was disgusted. I go to the front desk & show Robert a picture so he moved me from room 918 to room 1000. I never even got in the bed after I saw how filthy the carpet was (with what appeared to be blood stains). I actually have a recording of someone yelling in the hallway claiming to be a housekeeping supervisor who was telling another employee how she cut herself & made a mess in a room & there was blood everywhere. I am unsure if it is their blood but I thought that was an interesting coincidence. As shown in the pictures the room was disgusting, spider webs, built up dust, peeling caulk, stained furniture, etc. For this room to be over $200 & at a 4 star hotel, this is not acceptable in the least. I reached out to Hotels.com to get a refund & they stated that the Hotel was denying the refund. I went back to the front desk & Robert stated that while he has the authority to refund me, he is choosing not to do so & can only offer me a $15 credit (which I have on video). At this point I am uncomfortable staying in the hotel due to the filth in the rooms & the overtly rude service. So at past 3am I was roaming the streets in search of somewhere to stay. Luckily I have the resources to pay for another room & was able to go to the Hilton where I had to pay $300 for a few hours of rest. I returned the next morning to speak to the manager Gambino who said he can only offer a 50% refund. According to him I should have checked the room, peeled back covers, inspected the shower as soon as I got in the room because that is what he always does when at a hotel. Mind you he is basically berating me as a line is forming behind me perhaps in an attempt to further humiliate me. I expect a room to be cleaned before I stay in it, even if I was at motel 6 I would assume I would not have bloody carpeting & a hair covered bed & a sink that drains. It is the hotel’s responsibility not mine. I checked out around 3am & did not sleep there, at this point I not only expect a refund but additional compensation for this entire ordeal. This entire experience was degrading & I am still sick to my stomach at the conditions of that room. Please let me know how you intend to rectify this as Gambino stated he needed to get Robert’s side as well as inspect the rooms before he could do anything which I also find unacceptable.

Hotel's Favourite
I upgraded to a really large corner room with a view out onto the street in front, Well worth the extra money. I walked in and the entrance is separated from the bedroom.with a large beautiful bathroom to the right, a table to put things on in the middle, and a closet and nice dressing area to the left. The bedroom has two large windows giving lots of natural light and the deco and modern furniture gives the feel of slick nostalgia. Everything was very tasteful and well thought out. The mattress and linens on the bed were of really high quality. The temperature of the room was easy to maintain with the thermostat. The bathroom had a tub with a rain shower, or you could use a hand held wand sprayer. The location is great since it is half a block from Michigan Avenue and one block from the best beach on Lake Michigan. The Front Office Manager, Candice, was very helpful with answering all my questions and suggesting places to eat and shop. She went above and beyond to help with anything we needed. I will definitely go back for the "old world charm" and feeling of history and nostalgia you get at a luxury hotel like the Knickerbocker.

Firstly avoid express check out, this was the mistake I made at the hotel. Upon check in I left my credit card and $30 was taken for incidentals I didn’t spend any money at the hotel so used express check out as the lines where log on check in and out. I emailed the hotel a few days later with no response and the company itself with no response. Upon check in we where helped by the door man with luggage we had to drop off a hire car in the city and were in a rush to return the car so he kindly held our luggage. It was pouring with rain so we asked if we could use a hotel umbrella the doorman said yes go to reception who then refused as technically not guests (a little petty). When we returned we checked in, the welcome wasn’t very warm, the lines were long, the check in agent barely acknowledged me.. The hotel itself is ok, the rooms are a little tired and old fashioned and decorated in dull colours. The location is good, located off a side street just off the miracle mile within easy reach of all the main attractions. Next time I stay in Chicago I won’t choose this hotel purely because of the lack of customer service at the property itself and post stay support (or lack of). The exception is the doormen who are wonderful.

The Millennium is a hotel just off Michigan Ave near the north end of the strip. The hotel itself is ok. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Our reservation included free continental breakfast. The restaurant wait staff were excellent. Parked car in nearby lot for only $12/night.

Where to start ! This is probably one of the scruffiest hotels we have ever stayed in. We would have changed hotels but everywhere was full and as it was a business trip, conference facilities had been booked. The small scruffy lifts smell of wet dog. The rooms are scruffy with carpets that need shampooing. The windows are filthy. You have to request to have your room serviced ( never had that one before). Reception struggles to cope when busy and is under staffed. Several of our party have their own stories but up to them if they choose to share! One being that there was someone having a shower in the room she had been allocated…. The hotel needs a complete refurbishment to the tune of several thousand dollars which is why I suspect they aren’t bothering. I could go on …….. The positives - the breakfast restaurant is very nice and good food well served. Very pleasant and helpful staff. - the bed is comfortable and clean. - the bathroom is okay

We have been charged $37.18 for a Bar bill that wasn’t ours we reported this at checkout and had this refunded on our return home we noticed they had taken the payment again that’s theft. We stayed here 16th to 20th of May, we stayed one night in room 1008 but due a cleanliness issue moved to room 1210 for the rest of our four night stay, so you know who we are Knickerbocker. I have messaged them three times with no response. I can’t believe this sort of thing still goes on we also paid a room service charge of $15 per day this must not have been enough for them. We are so disappointed with this hotel it’s spoiled what was a lovely visit to Chicago. Staff uninterested, rooms in need of cleaning and upgrading. Whatever you do don’t let them near your credit card. I will now have to get my credit card company to claim this back as the Hotel just will not respond. You have been warned. Check the other reviews we aren’t the first to have this happen and I’m sure we won’t be the last.

We booked this hotel for the Coldplay concert. Even though it was in the total opposite direction of Soldier field, we enjoy the neighborhood and really enjoyed our stay. Check in was easy, and check out was even easier. The bar and restaurant were lovely, and all of the staff that we met were friendly and helpful!

Location, location, location. Historic hotel in an awesome location. Rooms are great. Beds are fantastic. Hallways are a little bit worn, but so what when everything else was perfect. I would definitely stay her again for all these reasons.
