just wanted to take a little time to let you know how wonderful your staff was to me and my family during our quick family vacation! I know Chicago is a fast pace city and you see so many different guest so it can be hard to make those personal connections with your guest but let me tell you that was not the case with your staff! I was beyond amazed with how fast my check in experience was I was beyond exhausted from traveling in and the man at the front desk (I feel horrible I lost my sheet with his name he was working 1/10/20 at 4:15pm) was kind, and informative. the lady working your at your service line I believe her name was Kenesia (I probably spelled it wrong sorry) was amazing she was on it and dispatched the calls to housekeeping right away we waited less than 10 mins for our request to be fulfilled your housekeeping staff was awesome and for their quick response I thank them. Now we can’t forget about my favorite breakfast attendant Ismeta she was beyond friendly and can make some pretty amazing waffles! She had such a warm heart and is by far one of the nicest people I have ever meet. You guys are lucky to have such kind hearted and hard worker at your location. And as I come to an end with my long email I wanted to give your night audit staff a round of applause keyontae was so nice and we talked for a while he helped me figure out how to book my employee rate for my second night and we talked about working the front desk and the different things between our properties I can tell he takes a lot of pride in his job. I found my Chicago Marriott location and you best believe I will be back I just love it and can’t thank you enough for creating such a warm and inviting atmosphere for my family and I to enjoy.. Plus the room was amazing.

We booked through Expedia and got an excellent room rate ($113 a night, I believe). Room had a king bed and pull-out sofa bed. Kitchenette. They had a light breakfast every morning (included in room rate) usually with eggs, some kind of meat (sausage, ham), milk, yogurt, bananas, apples, muffins and/or croissants, coffee). Breakfast was served by staff to avoid multiple people touching utensils, and they moved the line pretty quickly. Nice location, too. Close to House of Blues, Harry Caray's, about a block from the river walk and about 3 blocks from Merchandise Mart metro stop. I'd stay here again. Know also you will pay $45 a night to park in the adjacent garage.

Wow, we booked for location and price, but the staff and property were amazing! Just a brief walk to river, good neighborhood with restaurants and even fancier hotels, plus overnight self parking (attached to hotel) for just $55 a night with in/out privileges. Room clean and had all we needed. Great city view. When our child got sick in middle of night, we were able to get new linens within 5 minutes. Breakfast was good, but Ismeta made everyone feel at ease and really made everything efficient. She even helped me cover food to bring upstairs for my sick child. William helpful at check-in. All staff friendly and helpful. Thank you!

We were a family of four booked into a 1-bedroom suite for a staycation close to home. Here was my experience.

First the good. Front desk was very short -staffed, but everyone was helpful and friendly and did their best to help. Location was excellent, right in the middle of things and parking was conveniently attached and accessible through a walkway, without having to go outside.

Now the bad. I understand that lots of service could not be available due to Covid, but some notice on the website would have been helpful. They advertised that the restaurant downstairs (which was open) provides room service but that was not true. Similarly, as Marriott Gold, I was entitled to daily water bottles and a check-in gift, neither of which was available. But that was minor. The bigger issue was the state of the room, which was really old and in need of cleaning and repair. Worn out surfaces and scratches and marks everywhere. Bed was uncomfortable. The sofa bed actually had springs coming out of the mattress. Carpets looked very dirty. Only a few dishes were provided and everything looked really old. Dishwasher didn't clean anything. But no sponge/soap was provided to wash dishes manually. Guests were not following Covid guidelines in the lobby area and no one intervened. All elevators except one stopped working on our last day there. I can go on and on but it's more of the same...

I truly appreciate the staff because they were doing their best, so this review is really a reflection of the condition of this property and not the service level. I will certainly not visit this property again.

We were surprised to discover that this hotel is actually two sharing one building - a Residence Inn and Springhill Suites, which use the same lobby, public areas and breakfast room. It was a zoo when we checked in. It is also in an area very popular with the bar crowd in the evening. The room was comfortable although it you don't need a full kitchen, you could possibly save money by booking elsewhere. The bed was comfy but the bathroom sink area faced the bed so the lights will wake up anyone sleeping. No restaurant although the bar (open limited days) has a small bites menu. Parking garage attached - $45/day extra. Limited room service. Room cleaning must be booked 24 hours in advance currently. Rooms on lowest floors facing the garage are subject to noise from huge HVAC fans and curtains must be drawn for privacy since cars pass right by the windows. Guest laundry is on 27th floor but change is only available at the check-in desk on the 2nd floor.

This is the 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel. I like the location to the Southshore station, the bean, the Mag Mile, Andy's Jazz club, the art museum, etc. Last time I stayed here was in Feb of 2020, right before the pandemic started. I know there are staff shortages due to the pandemic, no one wants to work, but the hotel boasts that they have increased cleaning and take it very seriously. This is where I have an issue. The room I stayed in had a kitchen area with a stovetop. The stovetop had grape jelly on it. I went to get the bag of bedding for the sofa bed and a tampon fell out of it. Makes you wonder if they EVER wash that bedding. There were random pieces of scotch tape stuck in weird places, on the window ledge, on the headboard of the bed. So weird. There was hair around the hinge on the door of the bathroom. The body soap was pump in the shower did not work. I called at 2:00 PM to get it replaced. Housekeeping said they would send someone right up to fix it. 8:00 PM, I have to call again. Some employee brought me two little disposable tubes. The hand sanitizing stations in the elevator lobby and in the elevators were all empty. Lots of issues and it's not even the busy touristy season yet. :-(

I've stayed at hundreds of Marriott brand hotels across the nation over the years (Titanium Elite Member). Hands down, this was the best stay I have experienced. The manager who checked us in was fantastic and provided a coupon to a local Pizza joint upon our request of where to eat. Everyday the front desk staff were phenomenal and had wonderful customer service. The ladies who work in the breakfast area were incredibly nice and would even pour drinks or make a waffle for you. I have not experienced that before at a Marriott. The cleaning staff were very polite and provided a greeting anytime you passed them in the hallway. Overall, the whole staff's customer service is light years ahead of other Marriott hotels. I will definitely return to this location the next time in Chicago!!! Way to go!!!

I would like to say Briyanna put the icing on the cake great customer service. Once we checked in we had a large family and we had a 2 year old that traveled almost six hours on the train. We called and asked could we check -in a little early because having a 2 year old can be challenging when traveling.

We were able to check -in early and she also got us adjoining rooms. Briyanna was able to accommodate us and were so thankful bc she went beyond the call of duty to assist us.

We will definitely be back when we come to Chicago from now on. It was a great location we had no problem with our rooms, staff was great free breakfast and activities for the kids in the lobby. We also asked for a later checkout and they accommodated us there as well.

Best Residence in I have ever stayed at.

For the most part I would recommend this hotel. Location is central to many things. The lobby area and checkin was nice. Breakfast was good as was the market's offerings. Room was good except for a few items: 1. The toilet was clogged, but maintenance quickly fixed it, 2. We had to ask for bedding for the couch bed, but again, they quickly fixed this. Access was well protected so that not anybody could just walk in. Pool was closed due to Covid so I couldn't rate that. My biggest issue is the horrible Wifi. It dropped almost hourly and would go out for 30+ minutes. For small children this was rough as they couldn't watch TV. For adults we could not conduct work or business or watch anything. It also went out on the TV, so no Netflix or anything. This happened the entire time we were there and honestly I have never had this issue anywhere else. But again, I would recommended this hotel.
