The Sofitel is a great place to escape to when visiting Chicago. The rooms are spacious and provide great views of the city. Dinner was so good at Le Bar we dined there both nights during our stay and Sharon (Concierge) ensured that my wife and I enjoyed our visit!
Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, I am very critical of hotels who claim to offer above par service and accommodations. Well, I’m pleased to report that the Sofitel Chicago Mag Mile delivered a top notch experience and even more! Each hotel associate we came in contact with made eye contact, smiled, and warmly greeted us (this is key). The skilled concierge, Sharon, made reservations prior to our arrival and suggested perfect activities and eateries during our stay. The front desk associate, Ems, provided a pleasurable check in experience with her genuine welcome. We dined in Lè Bar (hotel’s bar) 2 nights and were greeted by the hostess with a “welcome back” on our second night. Not only do I know hospitality, but I also know exquisite culinary skills when encountered and the lamb meatballs, truffle fries, crispy Brussels sprouts, and Le Burger were SUPERB! The housekeeping setup was immaculate as I could not find one thing out of sorts in our suite (I’m sure I now sound like an inspector wondering their MPOR. Haha!) Overall, I would highly recommend one to lodge here if seeking luxury accommodations within walking distance of beautiful sights and highly acclaimed restaurants. …
This hotel has a great location, nice workout room, great business centers. Staff is pleasant, breakfast expensive but tasty (very good croissants). The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I requested a fridge in the room and it was brought up efficiently. The only downside was that the rooms were pretty small. Also, the doors to the bathroom were a double door that left space at the bottom and middle when they were closed. Fine for a single person, but possibly uncomfortable for two people who really need/want privacy in the bathroom. I stayed here because I got a really good price. If I had to pay the regular rate, I would have been annoyed at the small room size.
We booked 8 rooms at the hotel. All our guests were extremely happy with the hotel on all marks: cleanliness, hospitality, location and overall comfort. My personal experience was the same. Everything was extremely clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've had in a long time at a hotel. We will definitely use the Sofitel again!
Location is very good, 3 blocks from Giordanos and Michigan Avenue. Hotel is a little dated but clean, staff are super friendly. Room is comfortable and bathroom large. Restaurant food is very good, as with room service. nice place because its steps from a lot of shops but secluded and quiet.
Beautiful hotel and all of the staff are so friendly and accommodating! They were very helpful with local recommendations and for example, help with navigating the trains. Nothing was a problem for them. The rooms are clean and the bed was so comfortable. We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Chicago. We will also be looking at Sofitels as we visit other cities now too.
My husband and I use several search terms on Trip advisor when selecting a hotel, among them are A/C, air con, noise, noisy...and the Sofitel aced all of those. But we also search "comfortable" bed. The Sofitel uses firm mattresses, with very plush down pillow tops for their beds. This will work wonderfully for most people, but not for me because I am very allergic to feathers. When we arrived in our (absolutely gorgeous) suite, we looked at the bed and saw feather pillows and the feather pillow topper. So we called housekeeping and asked them to put on hypoallergenic bedding. Housekeeping stacked several regular mattress pads on top of the firm mattress--but it still wasn't comfortable. I asked for the manager. Vanessa came up to the room shortly after and I asked her if they had a foam egg crate to put on the bed. She said they did not. I asked if the hotel would go buy one for us. She was open to the idea but thought the stores might be closed for the day. After she left, my husband and I headed off for a concert. When we returned to the room, there was a note from Vanessa: she had found a store open to buy foam padding and the bed was already made up. We stayed for the next 6 nights on an extremely comfortable bed, in a beautiful suite, in a wonderful and wonderfully quiet part of Chicago. We'll be back! And if you are allergic to feathers, be sure and request the foam padding for your bed. Thank you Vanessa!…
Great service, great value, classic, comfortable high end . Definitely recommend. Very responsive to individual needs requests. Very accommodating food , restaurant bar service. Outstanding fitness center with state of art equipment. Very clean, well maintained reasonable
We were very pleased with the hotel. Excellent location. Within walking distance to great restaurants, the Navy Pier, Millennium Park, museums, shopping. There is parking next door though no discount so the cost was steep. Also it turns out the hotel accommodates dogs (limited to certain floors) which was a surprise though it was not a problem.
The Sofitel impressed me from the minute I got out of my Taxi from the airport. The team who greeted me out front introduced themselves and welcomed me to the hotel. As they ushered me in to the front desk they told me about where to eat, drink and anything else that might have been helpful along the short journey. I was greeted with "Bonjour" at the front desk and experienced one of the most pleasant check in experiences in a very long time. When I got to my room I was extremely and very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room. All of the furnishings were top notch and seemed to have a very clear design aesthetic and purpose. The bathroom was elegant and made me feel like I was at a luxury resort. The food at the hotel was also excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I hope to have an opportunity to get back to the Sofitel soon :)!!…
