We stayed here in June of 2022 for the Dead & Co show at Wrigley. It was also pride parade weekend, so the neighborhood was hopping. The location of this hotel is awesome. It's in Boys Town right next to the Belmont El, and there are a ton of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hotel is really cool- art deco style, lot of rooms but not too loud. My drawbacks are that our bed was tiny. My fiancee and I felt like we were sleeping on top of one another... not a huge deal for us since it was one night, but if I had been here mutliple nights it would have been an issue. We didn't have a shower curtain upon check-in, but they did bring one. Water pressure left a lot to be desired. Overall a decent property. We paid like $350 for the night so I typically expect a little more luxury for that rate, but it was pride week and a concert in town. I'd stay here again if the rate were a bit more reasonable for the quality of the accommodations. Clean property and quiet, so clearly well-managed. 3 stars- I'd give a 4th if the plumbing were better.

Stayed at the City Suites Hotel as we were seeing Lord Huron at the Vik Theater Saturday night. All good here and we were only one minute from the the theater by foot. Felt safe and took several 30 minute walks in different diffferent directions during our stay.

Quaint old hotel. Comfortable room, even had bathrobes for us to use.Doors were locked, had to use room key to enter so we felt perfectly safe.Perfect for our trip to wrigley field as it was about an 8 block walk.

When hubby and I go to Chicago we like to be around Boys' Town for obvious reasons. This was a short overnight trip so we wanted to avoid commute times to the play area. Hubby had stayed at City Suites in the past and recommended we stay there since it is just 1 ½ blocks off North Halsted plus it's right outside the door of the Belmont CTA station (red, brown, and purple lines). Walking into the hotel it appeared clean and decent with an absence of an older building re-purposed as a modern hotel. Check-in was courteous and quick. I had booked a King suite, only that and a regular queen room had shown available and they were the same price. Our room was on the second floor just across from the real tiny elevator. The room was spacious with a bedroom separate from a living area and the smallish bathroom off the living area. The furniture looked a bit worn and beaten - the small couch did not look comfortable as the cushions were crushed from lots of use. There was a window in each room that looked at the brick wall of the building next door, so there was limited light in the room. The room was clean only in the most limited sense of the word. No bed bugs, no roaches - it's not a seedy hotel in that sense. But it also did not have the clean, neat sense that you get from newer properties, nor did it have that clean but dated look from more nostalgic properties. It wasn't gross, but the room definitely needed some refreshing and updating. It was a reasonable choice since there are so few hotels in the immediate Boys Town area - I think we may try AirBnB next time we want to stay there, or suffer the short commute to areas where there are hotels. I might consider staying here again if the price is competitive and I wanted to focus all of my visit on Boys Town - as with this visit - but this is not first on my list.

I have stayed at many hotels; this has to be the second-worst hotel I have ever stayed at. And I am comparing this to a hostel I stayed at in Eastern Europe. Con: 1- The actual hotel and the room look nothing like the picture they present on their website. Based on their photos, they showcase their hotel to be very bright and clean, but, in reality, it is very dark and not well kept. 2- The elevator was out of order during my entire stay, which was a week. Even on the day of my departure, I have never once seen anyone fix the elevator. As a result, the guests had to drag their luggage up the back staircase themselves. I remember seeing a guest who had a wheelchair with him when he checked in. His family had to carry him up the stairs themselves. The staff didn't appear to be embarrassed or apologetic for the inconvenience. The daytime front desk staff (tall white man) always gives off an attitude that he doesn't want to be bothered. Whenever I walk past him, he is always on his phone. (I tried uploading the photos as evidence, but for some unknown reason trip advisor doesn't allow me to). 3- The cleaning service is only available if you manage to find the cleaning lady in the hallway during the day and ask her; otherwise, your room won't be cleaned. The hallway always smells kind of trash. 4- No laundry service. So, in my room, they did provide a laundry bag and a slip for you to fill out if you had any clothing that needed to be washed. So, one would assume it means the laundry service is available. However, when I asked the front desk, I was told there has never been such service. In fact, they were confused by my question completely. 5- The room doesn't soundproof at all. I can hear all the guests from the hallway and the other rooms, including the footsteps from above. 6- Based on the photos from their website, it looks like they offer some sort of snack or cereals in the morning. In reality, there isn't. Three large pots: hot water, coffee, and decaf. On their website, they claim it's available 24hours. However, they do take them away after 10 pm. Another lie. Pro 1- Only one. The location of this hotel is convenient. It's next to the metro, and it does have a lot of restaurants nearby. Other than the location, this hotel embodies the definition of catfishing.

Elevator was out of service. But they did put us on the second floor so we didn’t have to climb too many stairs. They were kind enough to let us check in early due to our room being ready. Nice boutique hotel. I’m not the biggest fan of boutique hotels due to their size but it was nice and comfortable.

Staff at the front desk are rude and lie. It was like I was a bother for him to check me on on the evening of March 15. Website states parking is $25 per day, while I ended up paying $80 for not even two days (37 hours). Staff member told me when I checked in that they no longer have contracts with the parking garage and they no longer offer the $25 per day. Then why is it still on the website? Then, when I checked out, the man in front of me turned in a parking garage tag for a cheaper rate. At checkout, I asked to address with manager but she was unavailable at the time. Then, tried to call three times and she has not returned my phone call. Also, there was hair in the bathtub from the previous occupant in my room.

Dear Mr. Hackworth, Thank you for staying with us. We are very sorry to hear that your experience was anything less than excellent. Regarding hotel parking, we have a very limited amount of parking passes available and understand that this is less than ideal. While our location provides access to a variety of great attractions, it does not allow for us to have parking spaces of our own. We apologize the manager was not at the hotel at the time of your check-out, she did try to contact you 03/21/2022. We would love to hear back from you at any time of your convenience to resolve this issue. The satisfaction of our guests is our top priority and we have shared your comments with our team and management. It was our entire team's pleasure having you stay with us. Great quaint hotel with a very nice staff. Hotel in Boystown so if you're there for a night of partying then you're staying at the right place. Secure off-site parking but safe walking distance. The train. is right outside but it's a trade-off for being in the city. Definitely, a must stay if you're visiting the area. And the mini-bar with normal prices..not over inflated hotel prices...very refreshing..no pun intended

Clumps of dark hair on the bathroom mat, bedside draws were filthy inside behind bedside drawer was hair, other peoples belongings and thick dust. The room hadn’t been hoovered at all . Carpet was worn and dirty. Thankfully I only needed to sleep in here. The $100 deposit was laughable, I don’t think you could do $100 worth of damage to a filth ridden room . Photos are very misleading .
