With 100 cash + 16000 points and one suite night award redemption, we were able to be upgraded to the lake view suite. 2 days before checkin I asked the front desk if we can get a two double-bed suite. The front desk couldn't find available room for us but instead they offered us one king-bed suite + one rollaway bed for not additional charge, which is sweet. The lake view was absolutely great, better than my expectation quite a lot. The room was older though. Most staffs are friendly and polite, though I don't know why we didn't get slippers after asking 3 times without response in the evening.
Old Sheraton hotel turned into a W property. Does not have the same feel and vibe as the W’s in NYC. Bathrooms are smallish and rooms are fine. Bar is pathetic. Staff were ok but not overly helpful or friendly. Location is great and if you spend the money the rooms with a Lake Michigan view are very nice.
I recently stayed here for 5 nights Good Location, prompt service, positive energy among the staff!! Overall had an amazing experience during my stay. Excellent Service & amazing Hospitality. Highly recommend!!
Average at best stay. Not what I would expect of a "W" property. Room was well appointed and the view was great. It started and stopped there. The bar closed at 11? What? 11 is this a hotel bar? There was no breakfast offering except to mention the 6 coffee urns in the lobby with paper cups and wood stirrers. Average motel offering at best. In fact I have stayed at commuter hotels that offered more and better. Please don't respond by saying you'll pass this along to leadership I am sure they, like I have read the reviews below. Mini bar was locked and there was one, yes "one" bottle of Aquafina in the room. Poor execution for a well known brand. Everything about the W was average and not somewhere I would stay again. Service was poor and unhelpful. It appears the W stands for "woeful". Covid came and went please adopt your business for the new world or charge accordingly. Covid isn't an excuse for substandard product or services anymore.…
I booked a Fabulous category room (high floor with lake view). We got there around 6 pm, quickly dropped our stuff and went to dinner. After dinner we realized that the elevator noise was horrible (we were right next to elevator). We were able to change rooms but we lost our lake view and no discount on our price. These rooms are very basic. No coffee or hot water (we did get a tea kettle but had to ask for it). Usually good supply of towels but one day they skimped and we had to ask for more. Tiny bathroom. Thin little shower curtain. The restaurant was closed on Memorial Day I would not stay here again. I saw several Lufthansa crews coming and going. I imagine that is who woke me up one night. And probably why we didn't get a decent room.
Old building with very noisy and old air conditioning system in the wall and malfunctioning - very surprising for a hotel of this level. The room could also been cleaner. On the positive side ; personal is nice and the vue is spectacular. I will definitely not come back.
I booked this room online to sit by the pool and enjoy some relaxing time. I got to the hotel checked in and asked what floor the pool was on well after taking my money they informed me there pool was not working. I went to the room it smelled and was small I went back to the front desk to request a full refund as I was not going to stay there. They have not refunded my money and will not call me back, after leaving countless messages. I will be calling the better business bureau on this place! False advertisement and bad business!
I really loved this hotel. It was my friends birthday and he chose this hotel which was absolutely amazing. The view from the 28th floor of the Navy pier was breathtaking. I really want to commend the front desk lady that was so nice, I forgot her name though. The ambience upon entering the hotel was nice and valet was really nice as well. And the drinks at the bar was pretty good as well. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you
I just checked in after a long drive. We would have like to drink something. We sat at the bar and the bartender was cleaning the glasses and he said hi but he did not say that the bar was closed. Then we learned the bar would be open at 3:00. The hotel’s restaurant was also closed. We drove a long way and we were hungry and thirsty but we could not eat at the hotel. I stayed in many hotels in Magnificent Mile, but we always find something to eat or open hotels. A big disapoinment.
The lobby is beautiful and fun. This is where the 4 star ratings end. Check IN: I ask for what upgrades were available. I always upgrade at the hotel when i book with priceline. At first she said they were sold out for the weekend nothing was available .I had to reiterate, I am willing to pay I don't want to be stuck in a closet somewhere. She insisted again they were sold out but then said you can upgrade to lake view for $50 a night. So we took it. Worth it....the view is beautiful. Room: The room is a motel 6 covered in Ikea furniture and wall paper. Signs of wear and tear everywhere as if the rooms aren't maintained at all. Sloppy caulking, sloppy repainting. Scuff and bangs on all furniture. And the bed gets a 1 star. The sheets actually felt like paper I could barely sleep. Bathroom: Fixtures in the bathroom seemed better up to par however the toilet paper was literally see through. Here comes the UGLY....They are having intermittent issues with their plumbing so when we checked in the water was coming out BROWN! I had to call downstairs and they told me to let the water run for a few minutes to clear the pipes. I expect this to be immediately communicated at check-in. It cleared up by the night but talk about shock. Service: Service to the room was quick. Internet and water bottles free when you are Marriot members. Lobby Bar: Vegas prices for their drinks. Almost double the cost for what I paid at the Hyatt during the week. …
