I felt extremely misled by this hotel. They have no restaurant, no bar, yet they still charge resort fees. I stayed 4 nights and had no housekeeping. I had to have the shower head replaced in order to take a shower. Couldn’t get my room cool enough. It is very convenient for Northwestern Medical Center.

The Chicago Hotel Collection Magnificent Mile The cleaning rules and service is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in my life. You have to request room service I requested room service a day before as the policy says and they still don’t clean the room towels were not switched out the garbage was not disposed of. I complained for a second time at the front desk with the two young ladies and now she wants to argue with me. Then the argument turned into negotiations on what gets cleaned and what does not. She says “we can replace the towels and remove the trash but we can’t make up the bed” (SMDH) I can’t make this Chit up I think it’s horrible that I have to negotiate with the front desk about getting my room cleaned, hotels are supposed to clean the room regardless whether you ask for them or not that’s common courtesy but this place does not. It became a negotiation tactic this should not even be a conversation as hotels are supposed to clean your room daily. The Wifi is shotty at best. Logging on to Wi-Fi seems to be a very difficult challenge as once you connect to the Wi-Fi in your settings then you have to go to your web browser and log in a code and that doesn’t happen. Finally, after about 10 attempts the web login page pulled up. Their Wi-Fi system does not allow your connected device to stay on you have to re-login every time you shut down your device therefore you have the same problem all over again also I found it harder to connect at late night hours as opposed to the morning and I’m not sure if they’re cutting off the Wi-Fi the other problem that I had was it would connect to one device and not the other. I can’t recommend this place at all if you’re looking for good service the hotel room is nice but that’s where it ends. This hotel lacks good service or good customer service at the front desk, they just keep repeating “sir it's policy” to do this, certain policy to do that and if that’s their policy with Customer service and how they handle a problem or three customers it’s not a hotel I suggest anyone going to, especially for the high dollar amount per night I do not recommend this hotel at all.

I give the hotel ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I did not like the hotel, annoying, there are repairs and the alarm clock works every morning that I am on vacation. The reception told me after payment, and there is no room cleaning, not suitable for families, only the place is nice, close to the market

Arrived at this hotel with my family after a long trip from Europe. Unfortunately there is an ongoing construction work at the hotel, which woke us up in the morning and made our afternoon rest in the room very unpleasant. The hotel manager had very little understanding for our experience of inconvenience and was generally very little service minded. Good things about the hotel are the location and an ok gym.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location provides great walkability. The rooms are nice and well kept. I'm a very particular traveler and cleanliness is my top priority. This hotel delivered. Amenities are lackluster (not very important to me), but odd that there is an amenity fee. Wifi is more important than cable in 2022 and is not an amenity. This is not the only hotel that hasn't caught up. Manager and staff were great, but a bit overwhelmed at times.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights with a deal we got on Travel Zoo. We had a queen or king room on the 25th floor with a view down to other buildings. We were within walking distance to many things and set out each day going in different directions. The room was clean and the hotel felt safe, even though the front desk people never even lifted their heads to look at who was coming through. They had a great Keurig coffee station set up in the lobby with coffee all day for free. They also gave us these weird plastic bags containing six drinks for each day we were there. It was VERY odd. There were all sorts of "resort fees", etc that added up to WAY more than any of those sodas were worth. Honestly, hotels either need to get rid of those fees or just raise the price of their rooms. For the deal we got, it was definitely worth staying here1

In addition to all the hidden charges discussed in these reviews, keep in mind Valet Parking is $70/night. Also, the Valet is physically located a few blocks away. When you return to the hotel, you need to stand in line at the front desk (which sometimes can be a long wait), then the front desk person calls the Valet, who then walks over to the hotel to take the car. It can take 20-45 min for you to drop off the car when returning to the hotel.

Absolute worst “Bait and Switch” I’ve ever experienced. Partially my fault in not reading the small print on Booking (first use, never again) and showing myself to stay at Property that’s not established. Buyer BEWARE there’s a $34.95 Daily Amenity Fee and 7% Reservation Processing fees NOT included in the pre-paid amount and collected at the hotel upon check in. This puts what appears to be a good deal, into the category of a bad deal. Other established properties were available at that rate and their “Unbeatable Daily Amenity Package” that the “The Chicago Hotel Collection” is continuously adding new services and amenities for their guests to enjoy during their stay includes “6 complimentary drinks per night, access to 24/7 on site fitness center, free coffee from our coffee bar located in the lobby, fast and reliable WiFi, and more!” The MORE is NOTHING, ZERO, NOTTA. That includes the staff, no bar, food, restaurant - NOTHING. The rooms smell old and mildewed, the refrigerator and AC weren’t working, and there’s facade construction from 8-5 that we were told we “may or may not hear” LOL this place is terrible DO NOT STAY HERE! There’s a $34.95 “Resort Fee” (It’s NOT a resort, no food, alcohol or beverages sans a bag with soda and water you get every day) there’s an additional 7%

I had a really nice renovated room. The room was very clean. Just remember that housekeeping only comes if you ask. The bathroom was clean and large. The room was also very quiet. I have seen some terrible reviews of the hotel but I stayed for four nights and it was fine. The only think I would ask for is a better coffee maker. The location is great. Right off the Magnificent Mile, very close to the lakefront and right by lots of restaurants.

We drove to Chicago from Indianapolis for a quick getaway with our two little boys. When we arrived, the staff was incredibly flustered and a long line was forming. When it was finally our turn after a long wait (which totally happens), my card and then my husbands card kept getting declined. I knew there was nothing wrong with our cards because we had used them just an hour ago at lunch and to buy gas. We called our CC company as suggested, and they said to see if the hotels system had our wrong address listed, because they seem to have that be the issue on numerous occasions. After speaking to the receptionist, she said that she doesn't understand what the issue is, and that I can go talk to the manager. I go to the manager, and she reiterated to me that theres NO WAY its the address in their system, she also stated she had never heard of that being an issue and that it was definitely the cc company freezing our cards. I then have to sit over her shoulder, and explain to her that the cc said to double check our address in the system, and low and behold, our address was incorrect in the system. The manager then tells me that shes going to charge us an $100 incidental fee, and I told her the receptionist had indicated that she would only charge $50 for the one night. She said thats not our policy, our hold is $100, and I told her well the receptionist told me $50, im just going by what she had said to me - and the manager then said in an incredibly rude tone WELL I AM THE MANAGER AND ITS $100 AT MY HOTEL. I was flabbergasted by her tone, she then went to speak with the receptionist, who confirmed she did in fact tell me $50, and the manager then muttered something under her breath, and finally successfully charged my card for the stay. On top of that, they charge a $35 resort fee for literally no reason, our bathroom had toothpaste on the shower curtain, and parking was $70 for overnight (which was super expensive compared to other lots in the area, but with little kids i didnt have much of a choice). I will never stay here again. The only silver lining at this hotel was the incredibly sweet and helpful valet woman. She deserves props.
