Quiet studio in Edgewater neighborhood. Room was very comfortable, clean and cozy. Little thing, but loved and appreciated having unlimited bottled water. Walking distance to Lake Michigan beaches, Chicago Mosaic School, restaurants. New-- takeout from Sfera Scilcilan Street Food at Victoria and Broadway is out of this world!
Loved the Magnolia Studios. Wonderful studio in an awesome Chicago neighborhood. We stayed here because our son had a GUS Dance school intensive week. The studio is about a 20-25 minute walk to Andersonville and the GUS studio. Our son is college age and could walk there and back by himself. The neighborhood is quiet and close to the Red Line which allowed us to go anywhere in Chicago. The beach at the lake is a nice walk and fun as well. Kate and her husband are wonderful hosts. We had lots of amenities and all we needed. The home is charming with a lovely garden. Always a pleasure to come and go. Next time we go to Chicago we will definitely stay at the Magnolia Studios. Check out their website for more information. We did not need a car. We just took ride share from Ohare. Public transportation in Chicago is its’ own adventure. :)…
Magnolia Studios is in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, just two blocks from my daughter! My immaculate room was on the second floor and is very well-appointed with a mini-kitchen, table and chairs, and a comfy chair. You look out onto the owner's gorgeous garden. I kind of don't want to spread the word about this gem, but am recommending it to all visiting family members and my not-easy-to-impress daughter was blown away by how nice this place is. Highly recommended.
My husband and I were in Chicago for a wedding and Magnolia Studios was one of the recommendations for places to stay. Although it was further north than the venues we attended, it was easy to get on Lake Shore Drive and get downtown. The renovated carriage house was behind a beautifully restored home on a quiet residential street. We were able to park in a small public lot just around the corner which was convenient. We walked through a lovely garden area to get to the studio which was clean and very cozy. Although small, the room had everything we needed and more supplies (water bottles, coffee, towels, etc.) were available for us to help ourselves. The area is very walkable which was great for down time and we were able to walk to dinner, breakfast, and to the lakeshore. We felt in the neighborhood and would definitely stay here again.…
I stayed in the Magnolia Studios over the past weekend. I lived in Chicago for several years and didn't know this place even existed. We really wanted to stay in the Andersonville area - and this was a fabulous surprise. Small and quaint - but everything you need if you're interested in activities north of downtown. We still were able to Uber down to the loop easily, but spent much of our time nearby. Katie is super nice and 10/10 on communication. There is a little garden between the house and the studios to sit and relax if you'd like (we did so while enjoying a little coffee). Walking to nearby restaurants/shops is easy...highly recommend M. Henry for breakfast, by the way.
My husband and I were in Chicago for a week visiting our daughter, whose tiny Andersonvillle apartment was nearby. We could only get three nights in our Magnolia Studio, which was so comfortable, quiet and well-equipped that it quite put the more expensive airbnb we rented for the other nights to shame. The Keurig coffee maker was terrific -- nice not to have to go out early in the chilly mornings in search of a good cup of coffee. Amazing shower, comfy bed. The temperature control was easy and quiet. Good lighting for reading in bed. A large screen television with streaming access was mounted on the wall. Some excellent restaurants along Clark Street were about ten minutes walk away. The Red Line station and a good bus stop were within two minutes walk, which was great for getting around easily without a car. We plan to stay at Magnolia Studios the next time we visit Chicago. Recommend very highly!…
Perfect from top to bottom! Super nice, attentive hosts. This place is spotless, has everything you could possibly need and is tucked in the perfect spot in Chicago! Walking distance to restaurants, quiet neighborhood, just down the street from parks & downtown. Can't imagine what else we could've asked for, it had it all!
The studio was more than well equipped. Very comfortable. Clean and nicely decorated. Kate was a super host. She was very accommodating. A great location. It will definitely be our goto spot when we come to Chicago!
Very nice updated studio with good beds, awesome shower and easy hassle free check in and check out. Very clean and tidy comfortable place to stay for a long weekend. A little tricky to find the entry through the walkway on the left but once we got back in the garden, charming place
Kate was wonderful in assisting me with planning a suprise trip to Chicago for my husband and our anniversary. This was the perfect spot to relax while still being within walking distance of anything we could want or need. A hidden gem in the city with a host who's happy to make recommendations and make sure your trip and stay is extra special. Our absolute favorite destination stay after a long shutdown! Thank you, Kate!
