I booked this hotel somewhat last minute while looking for a neighborhood to stay in Chicago, not downtown. This was an amazing hotel, it was beautiful and my experience with all staff was incredible. They were friendly and helpful above and beyond my expectations. I was nervous to stay at a hotel during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the hotel explained the measures they had taken and I felt comfortable throughout. I cannot wait to come back, hopefully post-pandemic, to truly take advantage of all the hotel has to offer.

The Sophy hotel is a gorgeous boutique hotel located in a convenient location. The rooms were very clean and beds were comfortable. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful experience at the Sophy and will definitely return in the future!

Our family stayed in adjoining rooms at this hotel for 5 nights while we attended a family wedding at the University of Chicago and explored Chicago. The hotel was very clean and all staff we encountered were friendly. The location was great for the purpose of attending the wedding and exploring the campus, but is about a 20-30 minute Uber ride to sites in the city center. That being said, it's much better to take that route over searching for parking in the city. Public transportation is also not too far away but less convenient for our purposes. The beds were very comfortable, as were all of the linens. As with most/all hotels these days, guests must request rooms be serviced while occupied. The one downside to our staff was the fact that the dining options were closed early on Sunday and not open at all on the Monday we were there - not sure if this is a regular occurrence or not, but for business travelers who want a quick breakfast, not very convenient. The bar also appeared to close relatively early. We would definitely consider staying again if in the area.…

Couldn’t ask for a more delightful hotel experience. Staff, location, exquisite food and the local art filled ambience was “off the charts”. I usually stay in downtown Chicago but was encouraged by a relative to try the Sophy. We loved it!

Poor service can ruin the whole stay. Staff are not clear and consistent on the parking options on Sundays. Late night desk attendant was not willing to help and we were told she has no idea and we would have to figure it out ourselves.

Scanned qr code in lobby for discounted parking Wich is a block away owned by different company purchased 2 day pass was supposed to receive email with entry code never got it so I had to purchase full rate parking also took a good arrival experience to a headache the front desk basically had no answer for the problem they finally gave me the parking garage manager number but he did not answer if they are going to offer this through the hotel sophy should handle issues

I was in love from beginning to end during my stay at the Sophy Hotel! My daughter was married on University of Chicago property on July 9th and we took up about 30 rooms. The staff was remarkably kind, friendly and efficient. We adored the ambience all the way from the sitting area in front, to the bar, to the main restaurant where the cocktail party was held to the enclosed outdoor patio for the brunch event. The food was delicious and the staff was outstanding. A big “thank you” to everyone for offering our family total perfection!

One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Everything about it was perfect from the lobby to the room to the restaurant. I even loved the neighborhood it’s in. Everything you need is in walking distance. Definitely a vibe. Anytime I’m in Chicago, this will be my go to.
