My boyfriend and I stayed at the found hotel from March 13-16th, 2022, and we were quite disappointed. The hotel room was dirty, especially the bathroom, and the nightstand and light were broken in the first room and third room we had. On our first night, our room would not lock and when they tried to fix it they ended up locking us out of our room without any of our stuff. Instead of figuring out how to unlock it, they gave us a new room, with twin bunk beds, and told us we wouldn't be able to get our stuff till the morning. The next day they did give us a new queen room but it was extremely frustrating that we had to sleep on TWIN beds without our stuff. I was promised by the front desk worker that we would get 30% of our WHOLE stay back. I never got that and when I called the hotel about it they only gave me 30% back for ONE NIGHT. I see that as very unfair since we 1)didn't get our queen room, 2) had to sleep without our stuff and spend money on stuff we needed since our room was locked, 3) missed our reservations in the morning because we didn't have any of our stuff. Besides all of that, the walls are very thin in the hotel so in all three rooms we stayed in we could hear our neighbors talking or watching TV. I would NEVER stay at this hotel again. The best part is, even after being locked out, the manager never came out and apologized to us. The only people I talked to was the front desk workers. The only reason I give this hotel a star is that the desk workers were very nice and I could tell they were trying their hardest.

I wrote this on Hotels.com because that's how I booked it but I'm also a long-time fan of TripAdvisor, so here you go. Quite possibly the best hostel stay I have ever done, and I have traveled a bit through the US and Europe and love hostel stays for the sheer social aspect of it. The staff was excellent and friendly. They were so chill. From the woman that checked me in, to the late night person, and the man who checked me out. Top notch. The lounge was very relaxed. The bed was super comfortable. The shared shower that was privately connected to the four bed spots was brilliant! I know the area and it is bustling with so many drink and food options but chose not to go out. I live in Chicago but had to be really close to River North last night so that's why I chose Found. I will come back just because it felt like an escape from my usual scenery.

I stayed here for one night and what a terrible night it was. When we arrived we were greeted by a great blonde woman at the front desk, she may have been the only good part about this stay. The decor in the lobby and basement is pretty awesome as well, I will say that. Check in was easy and we got to our room quickly. I booked a queen and twin room for my brother and I. When we got in we noticed that it was freezing cold. I immediately turned the heat up. We only stated long enough to drop off of luggage and quickly eat as we had to leave for a event. Upon return the room was still freezing cold, it was 14 degrees outside and 20 inside! I called the front desk and the same woman who checked us in told me to lower the temperature and wait an hour for the heat to kick in as the heat sometimes overloaded when set to its highest point. I was frustrated but did as instructed. An hour later we could still see our breath so I called back, after looking for another room for us she said that the room type I had booked was sold out and give us a smaller room with no view. The room was so small that the heat that did work in the room was unbearable after 10 mins. And to top it off the cable service was spotty. I was told to speak to the manager in the morning so we suffered through the night and I did just that. First, the general manager couldn’t even be bothered to get up from his chair in his office to come to speak to me at the front desk! As a Luxury hotel manager myself, that’s disgraceful service to say the least! Second when I walked over to his office he barely even acknowledged my presence as I told him the issues we had. Ultimately he agreed to refund our stay but because we booked through Airbnb he told me I’d have to initiate the refund. Again I work in the hotel business, I know that to be somewhat true. I asked him if he could email me a proof of refund he said sure and I thought our issue was resolved. Here we are days later and I’ve received neither a refund nor a email! When I called there was no answer from him! As cute as this place was and as nice as the other staff members were I’d never step foot in our recommended this place to anyone! Shotty heat in the Chicago cold is unacceptable in its right but a rude and unresponsive GENERAL MANAGER is absolutely outrageous! DO BETTER!

If I knew I was going to be staying in a dorm room I would have booked a different hotel. This is a glorified hostel. The parking code didn't work and we didn't receive much help trying to get it sorted out. There was a vent rattling that ran all night for 2 nights straight that we could not sleep. When I communicated this to the front desk he insinuated it was sexual noises. It was not and it was very frustrating to be gaslight. In addition to that, I was charged for an extra night? or a "glitch in the system" and have not been refunded. When we first arrived the front desk attendant was extremely rude when I was inquiring about the parking and didn't even check if our room was ready. I'm never in life staying at this hotel. This Hotel is in a great location, it's unfortunate that the room and amenities did not match

I'm a very experienced hosteler. This hostel is not only the most expensive, more so than Iceland and Switzerland (much cleaner), but also the dirtiest of all. I stayed here for 4 nights. First day arrival, bathroom, and room was dirty. No cleaning was done. I had to tell staff to ensure room gets cleaned. She said it won't be cleaned until next morning and that they clean bathrooms daily as claimed. I had to suffer through the dirty bathroom and previous hostelers who was there for > a week. The cleaner cleaned next morning, and 2nd morning, it seemed only the trash were taken out. No vacuumn was done either. Toilet was dirty again. And I was developing rashes due to dirtiness for subsequent 3 nights. NO kidding! DO NOT STAY HERE, not worth $80-100 for a dirty hostel! And Covid safety practices were wishy-washy. Face mask required in hotel, but not shared dorm. Go figure!

Very unprofessional. It is not a hotel it is a hostel. The attention is a disaster from reception to the manager. They said that they did not pre-charge the card and they charged me everything to the card. They don't say anywhere that they don't accept cash. When I complain about this, the manager tell me it's illegal and that's why they don't publish it. I had daily cleaning service and the room was not done. For everything they excuse themselves for the "covid". The room was dirty, lacking a lot of maintenance and extremely noisy. A disaster, I would never recommend it. It is to expensive for what you revive.

When we checked in we realized the A/C was broken in our room, making the room as hot and humid as outside (upper 80's) at 10 pm so we couldn't sleep at all. The front desk guy told us they could not have it repaired right away and offered us a full refund if we check out right away and move to a hotel of our own choice, and asked us to contact his manager, Javonna Simpson, for further assistance with the refund. I emailed Javonna right away after checking out, leaving nothing touched in the room, but never got a response. Also I tried calling them 4 times but none got through. I really should have asked the front desk guy to write a written proof for our case. Now really regret for booking their place. So disappointed.

Long Story Short: Charges us a "surprise" $700 for a security deposit that a staff admitted was supposed to be $50 and took no steps to correct this. I was fully charged, they pretended to offer a refund and then blocked me from calling to correct it. Room was dirty and missing basic amenities - window looked directly into another person's room. The "comforter" for the bed was just two top sheets. Overall place was not only disgusting but fraudulently charged my card.

I'm staying one night at this hotel/hostel. I chose it because it has guest laundry facilities and I needed reliable internet in a private room for a business meeting. Laundry is coin-operated -- $2 in quarters to wash, $1 in quarters for soap, and $1 in quarters to dry -- $4 total for a load. There wasn't a change machine in the basement with the laundry so I went up to the front desk but they didn't have any change. The girl suggested the CVS or gas station. I went to CVS, but they don't make change. I then went to the gas station but the cashier could only give me $2 of quarters. I then went to the hot dog place next door and they had a big sign that said "DUE TO THE NATIONAL COIN SHORTAGE, WE PREFER DEBIT/CREDIT." So, the whole point of me coming here to do laundry is lost until I can find another $2 in quarters during a national coin shortage. The desk in the room is in a corner without an outlet. The closest outlet is about 6 feet away and in the middle of the wall. The desk a simple wooden slab built into the wall, so it's not possible to bring it closer to the outlet. The desk chair is not meant for anyone larger than women's size L or men's size M. The walls are very thin; I can here the entire conversations of people in the hallway and in adjacent rooms. The window in my room looks into the vertical "alley" of a skylight whose only purpose is to allow this room to technically have a window even though it is on the interior. So my window looks directly onto the windows of the other adjacent rooms needing a window on this "alley" in order to qualify as viable guest rooms. So, overall, this was not worth the money for $100+ that I paid for a private room. I am not sure what people rave about aside from the "chic" interior decorating -- which in my opinion is just lipstick on a pig.
