I was recommended this hotel by a friend that frequently stays here. The lobby area is extremely impressive and smelled wonderful. Our room on the other hand was another matter. There were several stains on the walls, the carpet portion of the room hadn't been vacuumed as there was debris under the desk and by the window, the entry way floor was a bit sticky. The bed looked like someone had just gotten out of bed and made it quickly, the pillows looked like they were shoved into the pillow covers with 3 of them just pushing out of the cases. The sheets as well as the towels also had several rips and holes in them. I will say the bathroom is beautiful. I'm sure to many these things aren't a massive deal but I feel for what I paid and was charged, I should've gotten a better room experience instead of something I could've gotten at a Holiday Inn. I'm very disappointed. I will say the guys that run the valet are wonderful and extremely helpful in finding fun things to do around the area. It's a beautiful hotel in a wonderful area, I just feel the housekeeping and general maintence are severely lacking for the price point. For $500 a night I should've had a way better experience.…
Luxurious, safe, clean, friendly, accommodating, spacious, would highly recommend! The heated bathroom tiles were a highlight and the front desk staff and valet are very attentive and conversational. The staff helped with recommendations in the area, frequently asked how our stay was going, even went so far as to google Beef Wellingtons in the area. Exceptional service! Valet was also respectful, helpful, and quick. I felt special to have the door open for us for every enter and departure.
This was our first visit to the Viceroy for our son & daughter-in-law‘s wedding. Our entire family was there. Everyone had a great time. The Viceroy truly rolled out the red carpeting for all of us! Whenever we go to Chicago from now on, The Viceroy is absolutely the only place we will stay from now on!
We only found the reception team to be friendly and helpful. At the restaurant one does not feel welcome. Room was not cleaned on two days (out of seven). The hotel has a great location with lots of restaurants in walking distance and the Lake one block away.
We really enjoyed our stay here as the service is excellent and the room was perfect A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. The restaurant next door is good quality and the 18th floor rooftop bar and pool are really good. They do need to have umbrellas available as there is very little shade on these hot days
The hotel was very modern, clean, and staff were attentive. Rooftop pool was beautiful. Great location near really nice restaurants and a quick drive to the Riverfront area. Beautiful views and just all around a relaxing, perfect place to stay. The hotel was huge but felt very private the way it was laid out.
Staff was very generous and showed me respect (don’t see much of that these days). Our room was fantastic and very clean, I’m definitely coming back with my wife! They were also very fast with my room service.
Great room design with fantastic use of space. Absolutely beautiful hotel. Loved the location. Rooftop pool is an oasis in the city. Could not have been more pleased. Will definitely stay again when next in Chicago!
Had an awful experience and really not worth the money. Rooms were small, got kicked out before entering the pool because we had a 7 month old baby in hand. No breakfast. No amenities, toothbrush toothpaste, slippers, room was dusty. The tv remote controller wasn’t even working the whole day. Requested for front view suite, gave us back side. Never coming back here ever again.
My husband and I stayed at the Viceroy for a mid week getaway.. I absolutely loved this hotel. The location is fantastic- lots of great bistros nearby. We had the best burger EVER at Gibson’s just down the street. The room was immaculate. Fantastic amenities, love having the water closet separate from the rest of the bath. We were upgraded to a lake view room. Had drinks and snacks on the rooftop bar. Great views! Breakfast one morning was good. My husband’s oatmeal was very watery but that is my only complaint. Staff is well trained and very polite. A+++
