This was a family trip. Celebrating my mother’s birthday. The hotel had a mildew smell and it was very dirty. We were on the 26 floor and we were not able to get any rest. The night club is on the 27 floor, we could hear the music all night long and into the early morning. The price of the hotel did not measure up to the experience.
First of all, like most reviews here indicated, the hotel has a very good location. It's directly next to the State/Lake "L" station, where many subway and bus lines go through, as well as only a few minutes walk away from other stations like Washington if you are trying to on the Blue Line. It's walkable to many famous Chicago attractions. Millennium Park where the "Bean" is was very close by. Check-in was smooth. I did mobile check-in and needed to grab some keys from the front desk, and they were able to help with with promptness and a kind attitude. As with most Hilton hotels, I recommend downloading the Hilton app and doing mobile check-in since you get to personally pick your room on the app. The room was much larger than I expected. We had the standard king room as well, so it wasn't the upgraded rooms. There was a kitchenette with a fridge, a microwave, and a sink. No dishes or utensils were provided tho, but I was just pleased there was a microwave in the room. We also checked out the roof top bar. The views were very grand and it was nice sipping drinks as the sun sets. I'm not one for loud music (I thought it was one of those bars with a softer, quieter ambience) but it was still a nice experience overall.…
We had a wonderful family trip to Chicago and stayed at the Wit. Location near the trains and downtown could not be better. The staff, of note the concierge Zachary and bellman D’Andre, as well as all the front office staff, were gracious, helpful and welcoming. We’ll be back! Thank you!
So overall this hotel is very good. The shining part is the hotel staff who could not have been more welcoming from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. The entire place was very clean and modern. It is also close to two major train stations which is excellent. Furthermore the bean, navy pier, and river walk are all within close walking distance. The hotel also felt very safe! My one complaint would be the bed and pillows. The bed was so uncomfortable it made it difficult to sleep, I felt like I was on a concrete slab. The pillows were also a bit to firm as well. Other then that this is a great place to stay and I believe we would take a chance on it again.
I stay there 2 -3 a year and love the location better yet I would like to say thank you to the staff always helpful when I need help. Especially DeAndre greeting me with a smile and a handshake than Carrie at the front desk same smile same positive attitude so friendly and love talking music with chef Michael Thank you for treating us like VIP JIm & Carrie
I spent two nights here on a business trip. I had to wait about 90 minutes for my room to be ready, but once it was ready I was pleased with the size, cleanliness, and space. I ordered room service breakfast once and had an incredibly friendly and speedy delivery from a staff member. The food was tasty and hot and well worth the price. My only areas for improvement are the other in-house dining options. I tried to get breakfast at State and Lake, the ground floor restaurant, the first morning of my stay. I sat for close to 10 minutes without a server coming to take my order, ask if I wanted coffee, literally anything, even though the restaurant was deserted and I could see staff milling around. I had to leave since I didn't have unlimited time and no one acknowledged my departure so it was a thoroughly underwhelming experience. I also tried to visit the rooftop bar one evening and it was overcrowded, noisy, and definitely understaffed. Basically, this is a great hotel provided you either stick to room service or look for all your food and drink elsewhere, not a difficult task in downtown Chicago.…
Hotel and room are good, but the staff are what this place special. Very friendly and take awesome care of you. Would defo recommend for a stay in Chicago, top notch. Says I have to write 200 characters so having to add this.
The Wit or the half Wit? Numerous issues from the wet soap in the bathroom when I checked in the on off for the shower fell on my foot large group we had one beef loin ran out of food quickly for a group dinner. The parking situation in the valet parking was a disorganized joke
I had booked conjoining rooms for my bachelorette party, but we’re not the rage-until-the-early-morning kind of bachelorettes. We got put on the 26th floor and ended up being located directly below the sound system of the rooftop bar. The bedroom walls were literally crinkling from the vibrations of the club, and we physically could not fall asleep because the noise pollution was too much. I didn’t bother to call down because I doubted the club would turn down the volume enough that we could sleep, we just decided to wait it out. If you are sensitive to sound pollution when trying to sleep, DO NOT stay on the 26th floor.
Dreadful hotel. Shabby smelly and no surprise it had a nightclub in it. Staff could not care less. The hotel caters for bachelorette parties and people who think this is a luxury place have clearly no taste. Messy dirty smelly shabby place. I’ve no idea how they can get away with their price. A complete and utter rip off.
