Situated conveniently close to the airport, the Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport hotel garners appreciation from guests for its tidy upkeep, despite the rooms and general amenities feeling like a throwback to the 1980s. The atmosphere and decor that hark back to bygone days have guests calling for updates. While the direct airport connectivity is a high point, reviews suggest the value proposition is diminished by the high cost relative to the somewhat dated experience. Service quality seems to be a hit or miss, further influencing guest opinions on whether the stay is worth the expense.

The best thing about this place is convenience; it goes downhill from there.

We were sitting on our plane when it was becoming increasingly apparent that our flight to DFW would likely be cancelled. Accordingly, I went on the Hilton web site and saw they had availability for the night. Fifteen minutes later when our flight was cancelled and we now needed to make a reservation, the price had double to the +$300/night range. There was nothing we could do so we took the room and walked to the hotel from the terminal - all of which is an enclosed walkway that is handicap accessible.

The room was very small and was likely last redecorated sometime over ten years ago with original room infrastructure like commodes and showers most likely in the 1970s. It is an old hotel that would probably have been put out to pasture long ago were it not for the location of convenience.

Being hungry we went to the Italian resturant which was just part of the sports bar; loud, full of tired travelers like us who were forced to eat there because of the location.

Our waitress was very kind and the food much less than average. We would have been better off eating in the terminal before leaving airport Security. They had no draft beer of any kind left and the bottled beer we received was luke warm. All of this is amazing considering O’Hare airport is one of the busiest in the world.

The first pizza we sent back because it was simply not what we ordered. The second one was, well, not very good with cheap ingredients and an under baked crust. We just ate around the worst parts and went to bed.

Stay here for a bed when you are forced to because of flight problems; otherwise try one of the multitude of other hotels in the near vicinity. There are also many good restaurants off the O’Hare airport campus.

My wife and I travel 90-120 days per year in retirement. We have seen enough hotels and restaurants to come to an objective conclusion about this particular Hilton.

Dear GrandparentsGoGlobal, Thank you for taking the time to write a Trip Advisor review. I would like to extend my sincere apologies regarding the disappointing stay you experienced due to the condition of your room accommodations along with the price paid for your stay.As a full service airport property, our rate structure is competitive with other similar type of hotels to ours in the O’Hare area and do fluctuate based on the demand and occupancy. We do our best to provide the best available rate for each of our guests and with that a quality experience. If our rate is not agreeable, we do our best to recommend other hotels in the area that could could have a more agreeable price point. We strive to provide a clean, comfortable and relaxing environment for our guests to prepare for their next journey and apologize we fell short of this during your stay. I will ensure your feedback is shared with the appropriate departments use these comments as an opportunity to provide further training to our team and to ensure that we are always providing a level of service and product that is worthy of the Hilton name. We do appreciate your valuable feedback and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again and Make it Right.

Most valuable function of this property is its location to the Ohare airport and its ability to walk subsurface or street level to the terminals. The hotel check in counter is half the size of an olympic swim pool yet you will only find one or two staff members at any given time so plan to wait a while. Growing lines and limited staff plague the check in experience but just accept it and you will eventually get checked in. The rooms are basic so do not expect much but then again remember your purpose for being at this property as your not on a holiday, your just getting easy access to and from travel and thats about it. There is a decent size gym on the lower level with a narrow but functional lap pool. The hotel dining is modest and a bit overpriced for food and beverage service so if you find yourself on a limited budget grab some food and drink from inside Ohare and carry back. Doordash or Uber Eats is another option. Rooms are quiet and a bit drab on decor but thats acceptable. Im sure us seasoned travelers have experienced worse. The rooms are equipped with a in room safe and mini refigerator which is nice, as I cant say the same for the Hilton LAX. Overall its an acceptable property.

Let me first start by saying that the hotel location is outstanding, once you reach the baggage claim area all you need to do is walk under the lower level walk way next to the train station and the hotel entrance is right in front of you. The lobby is fairly large and during the COVID, the area is very clean. The rooms are spacious, even though the decor is a little dated, the rooms are nice and the bed is very comfortable. I was able to eat dinner at the local restaurant which serves outstanding food at a fair value. Overall great stay.

COVID-19 has changed the way we all travel. Hilton continues to step up to ensure that guests feel comfortable and as safe as possible with stellar staff providing excellent attention to detail with cleanliness being of paramount importance! Steven (Lead) with guest services is an asset to the Hilton as a great ambassador of hospitality! Cordial, personable, and genuinely nice fellow makes you feel welcomed. While restaurants continue to be closed, Hilton offers a limited menu making it a bit easier for guests to find some nutrition. As a frequent traveler, I always prefer to stay at a Hilton property, especially during this pandemic as they continue to offer exceptional service.

We stay in serviced accommodation for over 200 nights each year and have used Hilton in more than one location mostly for convenience for the airport. We are starting to question how convenient it really is though as our last 3 stays have not been great. The hotel is tired, old and outdated. We would not mind so much, but at over $300 per night we expect more comfort. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable with uncomfortable furnishings. The towels in the bathroom were thin and scratchy and did very little in moisture absorption. We went downstairs to get snacks as no food service was available until 5:00 and $45 later we had a small bite of sustenance. We felt robbed! It is very convenient for the airport, but couldn’t find much else good to say about it!

Extremely convenient, surprisingly nice. Chicago was selected for a working session of associates for its central location in the country and its easy access by air. This hotel was selected because of its immediate access to the airport for associates flying in from the east and west coasts. Well staffed and equipped conference rooms led to a very successful meeting.

Comfortable rooms and nice restaurant, pricey but to be expected at airport hotel. Restaurant service was great. We weren’t offered premium WiFi, which may have allowed us to stream movies on YouTube, etc, linens were high quality but an embossed stripe that bothered my skin. Overall a high quality experience at airport but don’t expect perfection.

The cost to stay for 1 night due to my flight being delayed was outrageous & they offered not even a 10% discount. The front desk greeted me with “next.” Then proceeded to get my information & told me nothing about the hotel until I asked what elevators I should use to get me to my room then they pointed. The ceiling in my bathroom was flaking off, toothpaste splattered on the wall. Room service delivered 2 warm beers & soggy pizza & automatically charged a 19% gratuity (which I was aware of from the menu).

We stayed overnight with our flight from Warsaw arriving too late to catch connecting flight. Hotel has old rusty feel to it. AC in room had no temperature control. No shower gel provided and only one small shampoo tube. Breakfast was a brown bag to eat in room (perhaps because it was Sunday). You could pick from items in cafe, but no sandwich was included and no coffee and juice - it was either coffee or juice. Pluses are short walk to terminals 1, 2 and 3. You do have to take free bus shuttle to terminal 5. No executive lounge, and I was not upgraded to executive floor with Diamond status so perhaps they don’t have it either.
I hesitated with rating - my wife wanted 1 or 2, but decided on 3 since there were no major issues we encountered.

There is nothing more appreciated nor convenient than a comfortable hotel just steps away from your arriving flight at midnight. This hotel is a constant in our visits to Chicago over the years being the only hotel attached to the terminal at O’Hare airport. My Honors Gold status was recognized at checkin with an upgrade to an upper floor runway view room. Though I booked a king room because it was cheaper, the checkin agent changed it to two doubles without hesitation. We were given a choice of a $30 credit toward breakfast or 1000 bonus points. Because we like breakfast and $30 is way more valuable than 1000 points, we chose that. Our room was comfortable with good bedding, great water pressure, a coffee maker and of course the best view an airplane geek could ever hope for.

I do have to comment about an issue since the COVID pandemic is not nearly over especially in Illinois as winter approaches. I observed many staff members wearing their masks on their chins in the restaurant. They might as well not wear one like some of the housekeepers I observed. There seemed to be no effort to encourage guests to wear them either. For this, they lose one star. Also, there seems to be a mysterious shortage of skin lotion in the hotel. Darn, the one time I didn’t bring my own. Guess we’ll be starting our day with alligator skin.

They do have a "grab and go" coffee shop in the lobby. According to the hotel site they open at 6 AM. Frankly, it's quite overpriced and I'd recommend you get safely airside where you'll have more options. There's also a small coffee shop landside in the terminal across the street from the hotel,
